Do you want Indian food, especially curry?  Are you in a hurry to receive this Indian food?  Then this place was made for you!

Curry in a Hurry whips up Canadian-friendly Indian favourites such as Chicken Jalfrazie, Chicken Korma, Butter Chicken, among many others, and serves them up in a cozy restaurant environment.  Portion sizes are decent and the food is tasty... not too spicy for me.

Service is fast and efficient, and at lunch I can often order food and beverage, be served, finish eating, and pay my server in the time it takes for other places to take my drink order (East Side Mario's just down the strip, I'm talking about you here).

One other thing I will mention is that one thing I enjoy about Curry in a Hurry is it's consistency.  I know when I come here the food and service will be reasonably the same from one visit to the next.  This is something I value, especially when I am with a group - we don't want to decide to go to a restaurant and find out that it's not a good as it was the last time.

I was not expecting much. An indian restaurant in Waterloo and the only people I saw running the place were white.

    It wasn't bad.
The naan was pathetic-you could get better naan in a package at the supermarket, but the actual meals (we got baingan bharta and paneer with peas) weren't bad. I gobbled it up.
The man even told us when we were ordering "our spices are generally 'Canadian-spicy' but we can make it more spicy if you'd like" which I laughed at and appreciated, as he probably knew that was one of the biggest flaws they had was their lack of authenticity...
So, whether he falvoured it 'Canadian-style' or desi-style...it was mild, nonetheless, but as a 'Canadian-style desi' I enjoyed it.

For what I was expecting, I was surprised and enjoyed my meal.

I ordered the Butter Chicken with garlic Naan bread.

Despite ordering the "dinner" sized portion (at an extra $4 or so), the portion size was quite small. I can only wonder how small the "lunch" portion would have been.

The butter chicken was nothing special, and the taste of cardamom was overpowering. There was no trace of a buttery taste whatsoever.

The Naan bread was a baked flatbread, not worthy of being called Naan bread at all. It was too crispy--not very pliable, as it would break very easily. Picking up a package of President's Choice Naan bread from the grocery store and heating it up at home would yield better results.

Our server was very friendly, and although we waited an absurd amount of time for our food to arrive, service overall was not too bad.

Also important to note: I did overhear the server attempting to sell "matcha" green tea powder, which the restaurant has packaged in bulk packaging, to some other patrons. The server did not appear to be knowledgeable in the field of matcha whatsoever, and misled the patrons into thinking that there is "only one kind of matcha," and trying to make the patrons believe that their matcha is the best deal in town. I have 8+ years experience importing and selling Japanese matcha green tea, and I can tell you that this server was blatantly trying to mislead his customers.

Probably the farthest thing from authentic Indian cuisine. I order the chicken korma, which ended being bland and predictable. I also ordered a side of naan, what i got was not naan but rather a piece of flat bread. I do not recommend curry in a hurry.

I had been craving Indian food, so rather than order a pizza, thought we would try some take out Indian from Curry in a Hurry.

The good news is that we were full when we were done eating.

Unfortunately, the food was rather bland and similar in taste.  I ordered a chicken dish, a beef dish - and that was really all that distinguished the two.  Same flavour, though completely different dishes.  Side order of dry rice on the side wasn't really appetizing.

Only one visit thus far, so maybe not fair to judge.  Just not sure there will be another visit.
