While consuming a bowl of Noodles at Pho Vaughan I looked out the window on this beautiful day looking at the Behemoth at Canada's Wonderland.  As my eyes scrolled to the next window, I made the decision to take the 5 steps across to Cupcake Lane but as we walked in we noticed a girl sitting outside FOLLOWED me.  She was actual the staff attending this Cupcake Cafe.

On display was 6 variety of Cupcakes today and I immediately noticed that the DOUBLE Chocolate there was the last one, so I said I wanted that one. We got all 6 Cupcakes($14.00) instead of just 1 Cupcake($2.50).

Cookies 'n' Cream, Double Chocolate, Hollywood Sprinkle, Strawberry Delight, Wildberry, and Polar Bear(Coconut).

I actually tried the Wildberry that had a MOIST Chocolate Cupcake that had Buttery flavour with a decorative Wildberry Butter Cream Topping.  It's nice to have a Cupcake specialty store in the 'burbs so we can be Downtown/North York wannabes.  The thing I didn't like was the container given, as the smaller Cupcakes survived while the taller ones didn't because the lid squished it a bit.

I'm sorry but if this lady doesn't change her recipe she will go out of business.  I decided to try her cupcakes for my son's 1st birthday and was so excited to see she had lemon cupcakes.  Yuck, yuck, yuck!!  The cream tasted so artificial and nothing like lemon at all, and the cake was really quite....chewy!!  The cookies and cream ones were not too bad, but how hard is it to make good chocolate anything?? And just use Oreo crumbles for the icing.  A mediocre baker should not be in business.  She seemed like a nice lady and she showed me her work in a photo album & it was also mediocre.  Nothing extraordinary.  I have friends who make way nicer cakes & they've only started doing them professionally for a year.

Sorry, won't ever come back unless it's under new ownership with a new baker.  I have yet to find an extraordinary cupcake shop in the GTA that even remotely comes close to Crave Cupcakes in Calgary!  (Swirls was one of the better ones in Mississauga...if u don't get red velvet anyway.)

    GROSSEST CUPCAKES EVER!
Do not waste a penny at this place.
First of all the decor was blah.  Come on, you've got a cupcake shop.  The possibilities for cute decor are endless.  It was as bland and flavourless as their cupcakes.
I would have excused the atmosphere if there cupcakes were edible, but this was not the case.
The baker must really love her eggs and baking soda because these seemed to be the 2 main ingredients in these cupsponges -err I mean cupcakes... right.
    They were expensive too!
    I felt so gipped.
Red velvet tasted like strawberries... blah.

I was visiting a clinic in the same plaza and decided to try a few cupcakes as I havent seen anywhere in Richmond Hill, where I live.

So... I had the Red Velvet and I wasn't impressed.  They weren't as moist as I was hoping for and the icing is too sweet.  It tastes like Duncan Hinds grocery bought icing.  Isn't the icing supposed to be cream cheese based??  I still have a double chocolate to eat so fingers crossed, it tastes better.  I'm not a culinary expert by any means... but I think if you're going to have a cupcake specialty shop, well your cupcakes should be top-notch!

I wasn't impressed by their variety and prices either.  $2.75 for one and $16.00 for $6.00 - isn't this pricey for cupcakes?  I dont buy often, but I was thrown off.

I do not recommend this place nor will I return.  I hope they take peoples suggestions to heart, or I'm afraid they won't be in business long

    2.5 star (Valentine Day's Score!)

I know Cupcake Lane's cupcakes should taste much better... but when the kitchen trying to bake trays and trays of cupcakes for all those romantic valentines... it really affect the finish products.

My Chocolate Sprinkle cupcake though beautifully decorated with hearts are surprising soggy..though it is not the worst cupcakes I have.. (the supermarket ones I ate can be so overly sweet).. I am not impressed!

I might give Cupcake Lane's cupcake another try on a normal business day...

BTW, they are closed on Mondays!

Small little shop right across from Canada's Wonderland with the best store bought cupcakes I've tried yet!
They have a wide selection which can be found online according to the day of the week. I purchased 6 cupcakes ($14 exactly):
Cookies and cream, pina colada, strawberry delight (my boyfriend LOVED this one), mint chocolate and two red velvet.
All these cupcakes were moist and the icing was good, not too sweet like the typical cupcakes bought from grocery stores.
The only thing I didn't like was that the red velvet cupcakes didn't have cream cheese icing to go along with it and the icing for my chocolate cupcakes kept falling off.
