Coffee is Easy....Water is alot more complicated than it appears!
If you are looking for a simple quote for an installation of a water purification system or treatment system - be careful which vendor you choose and consider your options.
Based on the fact that I have now spent a few hours (after three weeks) attempting to get a Culigan sales person (by e-mail, voicemail, call center) to contact me to facilitate the purchase of a simple water softener and I cannot get beyond this stage without absolute frustration.
Based on my experience I do not recommend Culligan of Canada.

1. I was expecting to get reasonable service from a firm who claims to be a local Canadian run institution. Local run means local supplier and accountability. This totally untrue. The firm is based in Illinois. No worries. The hope here is at least for good service from a company which will service and honor their products. Keep hoping. Each Culligan division apparently is run as a separate company. The US has phenomenal service. Unfortunately the Canadian operations do not appear to be as consistent. Pity. Variances include prices, consumable costs and general service requirements and terms and conditions.
2. No local supplier means no coverage in specific areas including GTA or Toronto. Unfortunately this firm does not support the Richmond Hill or Markham area and there are no remaining local dealers for the Toronto area. Funny considering how many flyers we get mail dropped.
3. Service reflects this reality. Despite repeated attempts to contact sales both in the Brampton & Aurora Culligan locations and repeated assurances from the 1800 & 1888 @ Culligan Canada I could not get their sales group to respond.
4. TOLL FREE means skip the service. When you contact a toll free number there are many challenges. Repeated voice-messages and call centers representatives who blind call transfer me to voice mails are not good indicators of services to come.
5. PLEASE go LIVE - After attempts to contact a live person, I attempted to escalate my concerns to management @ Culligan Canada. My hope was to get a resolution about "lack of response". Instead I was effectively stone walled by a representative. She refused to honor my request and became very agitated. When I mentioned that I am ready to make a purchase decision and just need to speak to a supervisor to listen to the ongoing challenges she decided that a branch manager @ local level (who has repeated ignored me) would be the person to speak to. I indicated that she was not listening to my request and that this is not indemnifying me with making a purchase with Culligan, she took offense and then proceeded to hang up on me.
6. NO EXPECTATIONS FOLKS - In retrospect, I should not have expected anything different from Culligan as no one deals with sales request. No one wants to take ownership. No problem. Lets try an alternative.
