the crystal is a fantastic hotel. it doesn't have a boatload of amenities but the staff are really professional, the rooms are clean and spacious and the location can't be beat. try to get a room facing away from the village stroll, as this can get really noisy at night.

off-season prices make this place really affordable in the summer.

the greatest part about this hotel was that we could bring our dog to stay for the weekend. all hotels charge extra for pets, but for the extra $25 they gave her a blanket, towels to dry her off, a couple treats and other goodies. it was a really nice touch.

Location will make you book this place, the room will make you wish you hadn't. We had a room on the third floor and facing the main walkway. The pictures are deceiving because this room is very small. The table is jammed against the wall and you won't have any room to pull the chairs out and if one person is sitting, there is no way anyone is getting around them.

The room has new carpet and updated bedding, but the walls for some reason were scuffed up pretty good. Then the bathroom, oh the bathroom, it didn't match the rest of the room. I posted a picture of the sink that stood out immediately, it was rusted with stray hairs. The counters were chipped and it appeared worn out. The toilet seat kept slipping off, as well. I was really unimpressed with this room.

The hallway in this hotel had a wet moldy carpet smell and that was my first indication it was more run down than the pictures capture. The manager did respond to my review on Trip Advisor and stated that we got one of the older standard rooms. We had tried to upgrade our room after buying a Groupon for this trip, but the hotel said we couldn't, but assured me the room was one of the nicest they had.

Flipping open the room binder the first thing we see is a slip for you to fill out for room repairs. I have never seen this before in any hotel, it made sense once we stayed the night here. They also said they charge $9.95 a night for wi-fi in that same book. I saw the next day on a small card, on the back no doubt, that it is free. This is confusing and not just to me, on TripAdvisor other people commented on the same thing.

I would not stay here again nor would I recommend it. I see a lot of location location location written in other reviews. Search around, use the internet to your advantage and you will find a better rate and better room. Trust me, once I got the free wi-fi the second night, I was already looking for a different place to stay the next time.

Right in the heart of Downtown Whistler Village.
It's all about location, location, location!
And to top it off, if you want a nice dinner, there is Ric's Lounge below and for those touristy lunch and dinners for the family, the Ole Spaghetti House!
Clean rooms for a decent price.

Can't complain.  Checked in at 2am and just needed a comfy bed to crash on.  Nice soft pillows and duvet.  Clean room albeit small, was right in the village though.  Also caught the action as cops chased a black bear through the village right under my window.
Outdoor pool and hot tub were a plus.  It was Oct and rainy so we had it all to ourselves.
Funny that some dude taking a leak outside a party recommended it to us as one of the cheapest in the village - off-season rate but only $100.

We got a great deal. The hotel is very nice, comfortable. It has a very nice pool and hot tub outside. It's about a 1 minute walk to the lifts, and the hotel checks your skis in for you right by the lifts so you don't have to carry them back to the hotel with you. The only negative thing about this whole checking in skis is they misplaced our skis for about 30 minutes on one of the days. Aside from that, it's great. They have a indoor parking lot and it's reasonably priced at 15 Canadian dollars per day. We would stay again.

This could have turned into a disaster, but resulted in the most romantic, fabulous place we've ever stayed. My husband booked the room for our 10th anniversary, but accidentally booked a room with two double beds. When I got the email confirmation, I called to see if I could fix it. Rick in reservations was able to transfer us to a king room.
Upon arrival, we were floored by the friendliness. The front desk girl was really friendly and gave us some great dinner suggestions. When we got to the room, we were impressed by the cleanliness, style and comfort. There was a Happy Anniversary card from the staff with a box of chocolates, too! Later, in the lobby, the front desk girl handed me a bottle of champagne for our anniversary night! The bed was so comfortable, we'd like to find out the brand so we can have one when our current mattress wears out!
I have never been treated so royally at a hotel! We truly felt welcome, like we were part of the family. The location can't be beat and the value is really exceptional. We will be repeat customers for life!

Can't beat this place for comfortable, nicely done accommodations and so close to the gondolas.  I've stayed here twice now and both times have had a good experience.  I've stayed in good-sized rooms with king bed, sitting area, limited kitchenette (microwave and fridge, though no stove) and decent amenities (sauna, hot tub, pool, ski valet storage, etc.)  My only complaint:  we had brought some DVD's, thinking that there would be a DVD player there, and there was none.  That, and I would have loved having a stove.  Hmmmm, maybe I should get a condo next time....

In any case, though, it's really a nice place to say.  And so nice getting off the gondola and not have to walk very far in ski boots before arriving in your room!
