nice hotel:) I enjoyed the nice bedsheet and comfy matress. I was there for tow days. the staff is nice and helpful.

It's December and tourists were having fun in the pool; it's florida!  The weather is nice all year around.

This is a busy hotel. They always have lor of cars in the parking lot. It seems that people chose this hotel to have meeting and conferences. They have a restaurant/bar. I sip a few drink during my stay. Overall.. I recommend this place if you are in universal studio area

Great check in, great bed, VERY CLEAN, well maintained, not sure if it rates as a 4 star, but it's a good solid location. A bit of a pain to get to but that's the fault of the GPS...

Pay WiFi? Seems especially petty for a 4 star location...

Great hotel. Very clean bathrooms and rooms. Nice staff. Decent little pool area with a jacuzzi, more than sufficient for me. Small gym if you want to squeeze in a work out, the exercise machines are limited and old but in good condition. Great lockers and gym bathrooms. Only negatives were that breakfast was not included and you needed to pay for wifi. Also the fridge in the room was making an annoying sound. Overall though good value for price!

Hotel was great, the unviersal studios ran bus that takes you to the park was NOT.
But, hey, not the hotel's fault.

The breakfast buffet, specifically, was quiet good.

** Notes on the bus, and this applies to any of the participating hotels.
The tram DOES NOT get you there in time for the HOUR early. We got there about 1/2 hour early. The whole reason of staying at a participating hotel is to get inside an hour early, and I think the tram should get you there an hour and 15 minutes early, so you have time walk to the front gates.

I stayed here last night with my sister because we were getting up at the crack of dawn to go to Warped Tour.
The valet guy was nice, except now I am missing my plug-in charger for my iPhone in my car.
The room was clean and there isn't much to complain about except that our room's thermostat was broken so it was absolutely frigid in the room-which I guess is better than it being boiling hot. Overall it was a pleasant experience and I would come back- I would just check Hotline to make sure that it's the cheapest four-star near everything in Orlando.

I stayed here during a visit to Orlando for a professional conference being held at the Orange County Convention Center on October 17, 2011. I selected this hotel via the magic of http://Priceline.com.

The hotel room was perfectly acceptable and reasonably clean and comfortable. The bed was outstanding. They certainly got the memo regarding upgraded linens, etc.

The hotel itself is kind of a downer. It is an older property geared toward package tours which has seen better days. Like the building itself, the staff is so-so; not friendly but serviceable.

The hotel looks at its guests like dollar signs. Lots of extras costs: $12 per day for wifi? $3.50 for a 16 oz. Starbucks wanna be coffee? Meals are bad and expensive. No shuttle service to airport or OCCC so all of this really ads up. Nothing is walkable from this location at all.

I would not stay here again.

I thoroughly enjoyed my stay here, and being able to snag a room here for $50.xx a night, it was well worth it!

First, the staff gets an A+ for being extremely friendly and helpful. Everyone greets you as you walk by and are willing to answer any questions you might have. The shuttle driver, in particular, was the best. One of the highlights of my Orlando trip was simply taking the shuttle to Universal Studios just to be greeted by him.

The room was spacious and had a view of the pool area below. Beds were clean and comfortable. The pillows were really soft!

Bathroom was nice too. Shower had good water pressure and warm water. Towers were constantly replaced. Also, the shampoo, soap, and lotion were great! My girlfriend even wished they sold the lotion in stores.

They also had a computer room where you can browse their computers and print things out as needed. Not gonna lie, I printed out some coupons from http://Restaurant.com (baller on a budget status) from here without any problems.

The only downside to this hotel is the fact that they actually charge you an extra fee to connect to the hotel's wireless. Luckily, my room was close enough to a neighboring hotel that gave away theirs for free and was able to connect through there. WHAT?! Don't act like you never stole internet before!

Great stay and would easily come back if I ever came to visit Universal Studios again.

Hotwire calls this a 4-star hotel... I don't really agree.

The check-in process was painless and quick... no complaints there.
My first room was large, and clean, but there must have been sort of leak somewhere (I'm guessing from the sink in the living room).  I took the hair dryer and towels and dried it once, but a few hours later, it was soaked again.  Concerned about mold or mildew whatever, I asked to be moved to a new room.

The second room was really identical to the first (except for the leak)... big, clean, etc.  However, the A/C was so damn loud and vibrated so much, I had to turn it off at night to sleep.  It was ridiculous.

The rooms itself are nice... a bit dated, and could use a coat of paint, but decent layout, nice TV, and OK bathroom.

The hotel has free parking which is a plus, but there is so little of it, it was sometimes a challenge to find a parking spot anywhere near an entrance.  They charge for the Internet (something like $13) which is a load of crap in my opinion, but at least it's free in some of the common areas.  The food at "Chats" (the bar area) is decent and the service is good and friendly.

Overall, it was very very average.  I think for the hotel part itself, it's overpriced.  I think you end up paying for the location (which admittedly, is very good if you are going to any of the theme parks).  If I were going to the theme parks, I'd consider staying here again... otherwise, I'll be looking for somewhere else.

Overall, a decent experience, but not great. I stayed here because I was attending a conference taking place at the hotel so it was convenient; otherwise, it wouldn't have been my top choice.

My room was unexpectedly large, and the bed was set off from the TV/couch/desk area, which was nice. And the best thing this hotel has going for it is the staff -- they are incredibly customer-service oriented.

My main issues were: (1) Some of the common areas didn't seem all that tidy -- I saw trash in the stairwells that was there for several days; (2) the decor was VERY outdated -- faded carpet with big graphics (though it did match the '80s music that was constantly playing in the lobby ...) (3) there were almost no amentities other than shampoo and conditioner --  no complimentary coffee, wi-fi, etc., and the gym was pathetic; (4) the area surrounding the hotel is totally touristy/tacky, with few restaurant choices beyond chain fast-food places. I had to resort to room service for dinner, which left something to be desired.

I didn't use the pool, but it did look nice.

This was a nice hotel. The room wasn't too big, but I was very comfortable. I espeically liked that the shower had very good water pressure. That's always a happy surprise.

The hotel has free parking, a pool, hot tub, arcade and gym. Also, there is a free shuttle to and from Universal Studios every 40 minutes. However, remember to get a boarding pass from the lobby. You need a boarding pass to ride the shuttle back too. If you don't have one during high season, they won't let you onto the bus.

In the morning, we walked to the theme park, which was a 20 minute walk.

Oh, and the BF wants me to give props to the bell clerk who gave us the 411 on fishing in the area.

We stayed here to go to Universal and Disney World.  They offer a very limited shuttle service to both parks.  We walked 2 miles each way to Universal and took a 8 dollar cab ride if we were tired.  When you book a shuttle, make sure you get there early or they leave without you.  They take down your phone number when you make the reservation, but don't expect them to call you.  They didn't seem to care we missed the shuttle.

The hotel is clean and pool is decent.  Customer service is rather slow.  The breakfast  buffet is decent, much better than a Holiday Inn Express.  Fresh food, while not prepared well, is still fresh at the buffet.

There are good restaurants outside the park within walking distance.  We had great pizza and Indian food.

I really enjoyed my stay here at Crowne Plaza.  I didn't expect much for any Crowne Plaza..but this one was very nice.  The rooms were super spacious and clean (so were the bathrooms), the common facilities were very open as well...multiple elevators that I never felt stuck or waiting to go up or down.  There is a 24 hour gym that is stocked with towels and machines are plenty to share.  I didn't get to use the pool but from the gym I could see the popular pool area with a cute tiki bar.  Everyone was super nice at this hotel, the doorman actually had an Ipad that he busted out with maps to show us various routes/short cuts to take.  There are shuttles that you can use (but be sure to reserve your spots) that can take you to the local theme parks.  The location is very convenient and parking is free and plenty so that was a big plus.  Overall, I had a great experience at this hotel.  If I am ever back in the Orlando area I would definitely consider staying here again.
Oh yeah..there is a pizza delivery service that delivers 24 hours even if you just want a drink.  We were able to get some wine after the bar closed delivered to our room....however, it was close to $20 with tip for a bottle of Sutter Home, just could not drink that.  But still, if you are hungry at anytime you can ask the front desk for the Pizza Delivery place and you would be able to order food, beer...or cheap wine =).

January 1st, 2010. Last minute we decide to go to Orlando for the weekend. 3 hours on the road and we arrive to our hotel (we made reservations online).

When we get there, the front desk lady greets us with the biggest smile, get our name and to my surprise, she has our room keys ready. She had separated them with post it notes with our last name on them.

We are staying on the club level. Room was ready, clean, spacious, with microwave and flat screen TV. Comfortable bed and cloud like pillows, great for when getting back tired from the parks/ clubs, etc.
Club level has it's own breakfast room. Breakfast consists of, cereal, toast, bagels, English muffins, some fruit, assorted teas and coffee. Would have been great to have a bit of protein, specially when you have a busy day ahead, but at least is something to start the day, plus staff is really attentive and helpful. Plus room is fairly big and comfortable.

Whenever we needed anything we just needed to go to front desk and it was taken care of immediately. Definitely great customer service.

The hotel is just minutes away from the International Drive, and Universal Studios and Island of Adventures. Also close to the Disney Parks. It has a pool and jacuzzi, gym, business center with 4 computers, outside area to smoke (rooms are all nonsmoking). It has a bar/ restaurant at the lobby, plus room service. There's a bunch of restaurants near the hotel, in case you want to eat "out" or you can have them deliver.

Great place to stay - no worries, just relax and enjoy.

Great hotel. Comfortable and clean. And really quiet considering the gaggle of children that were staying at the hotel.

Note: the shuttle only runs twice in the morning (one around 9 and one around 10) and twice at night (one around 8 and one around 10... I think.. don't quote me on that!). It's not the most convenient schedule. If you don't want to take the shuttle, it's a flat $10 town car (yea, we were "living large" while in Orlando.. and not by choice) to anywhere at Universal and about $7-8 coming back.

Despite this, you still save a lot of money staying at an off-site hotel and every dollar counts when you're going to the Wizarding World of Harry Potter!!

Not bad! For $~70/night (used http://lastminutetrave...) we got a nice junior suite on the 7th floor.

Smacked in the center of all the touristy places and just a few miles from Universal Orlando, Crowne Plaza certainly does the job. It provides shuttle transportation to both Universal and Walt Disney World, a nice gym, a nice pool and jacuzzi, a nice room with good lighting, an elevator that talks to you.

Wait. An elevator that talks to you? Have we gone H2G2??? Maybe. =) But it doesn't compliment you nor tell you to have a nice day. Or Don't Panic.  Ah well.

The room itself is cool. A queen bed, a very accessible bathroom. Not as big as AVIA Hotel, but it really does the job.

We were apprehensive that kids and tweens might ruin the stay, but it actually wasn't a problem at all.

Point deductions come from the confusing shuttle check in setup. Each time we went to the counter, they gave us conflicting directions on how to get to the shuttle. Oh well.

Clean comfortable hotel. I wouldn't label this a 4 star hotel. What I will review is the $14.99 breakfast buffet. Horrendous powdered eggs and the Omelette Chef produced a burnt omelette. It was a brown omelette. And he actually gave it to us. He's probably a nice guy but they need a picture of a perfect omelette next to the burner so he can compare HIS brown omelette to the yellow omelette in the picture. The buffet was a $2.99 buffet. Greasy broken bacon and hard package pastries. Wonderful waiters though.

Overall great hotel. Just don't eat breakfast. :)

The concierge was AWESOME. I believe his name was Doug. He not only recommended a restaurant (Fishbones), called to ensure we had reservations but in addition, while there, the restaurant manager came over twice with a shrimp cocktail appetizer and dessert cookies courtesy of DOUG!!! How awesome! Such a small gesture which meant so much. Thanks Doug!!! Doug makes the hotel a 4 star.

I was invited to the Crowne Plaza to cover a gig, and I was pleasantly surprised by the accommodations available. It's a good solid hotel, that doesn't come with the kitsch of many Orlando tourist traps.

It's decor is an odd mix of New York city life and tropical getaway, but isn't overdone in any aspect, i.e., there are no miniature Empire State Building replicas or obnoxious tiki huts to be found.

The coolest thing about this place is the centrally located glass elevators which let you oversee the entire lobby for your trip to your room.

The rooms are pretty spacious, and the suites up top have a full bar that is nicely setup.

I have never been more impressed with a hotel in my life.

My sister and I came to Universal Studios for he 21st birthday. Of course we told everyone and their mom it was her birthday. We went to the bar at midnight for birthday shots and the bar tender, Wendy, kept the bar open late for us and gave us a killer deal on our drinks!

The staff was nothing short of spectacular. We spent the entire day Saturday at the Park. When we finally arrived home we walked into our room to find a birthday cake equipped with candles and a birthday card signed by the staff!!!!! It was the sweetest thing ever!

Our entire stay was sprinkled with little acts of hospitality but this one topped the cake (pun intended) We want to go back next year just to visit the hotel!

Got our Single Queen Studio room reservation on Priceline the day we were driving into Orlando for $70 (~$86 dollars with tax).  Probably could have gotten it for a little cheaper if we had tried to lowball more but this hotel proved to be more than worth it.  The hotel was a very short drive from Universal which was nice after a long hit day at the parks.

Our room was very spacious and had a unique but very practical layout. The hotel building itself is nothing spectacular, in fact it is very typical of an upper 3 star/average 4 star hotel. What made me give this hotel five stars was the customer service. Everyone was very kind and brought us anything we needed (including toothbrushes/toothpaste which we had forgot). We also wanted to sleep in and were very pleased when we were given a late checkout for 12 PM after a quick phone call.  All in all a great hotel with amazing service.

My only qualm with this hotel was the taxi the concierge called for us when we asked for a taxi. It was a very nice town car (think limo service), but did not use a meter and ended up charging us $16 for a ride that only cost $10 in a normal cab on the way back. Very negligible issue but notable nonetheless.

The hotel itself is a very nice. It's got a great pool and exercise room, it even has a game room. My only problem with this hotel is that the website says that it has wifi, but what they leave out is that the wifi costs something like $12.99 per day to use. If you have an AT&T phone you can use it for free, but otherwise you have to go to the business center to use internet. The other issue I have with the hotel is that the website says that you can pay $18 for a shuttle to and from the airport. When we arrived at the airport, there were no shuttles, so I called the hotel and was informed that they did not provide any kind of shuttle service to and from the hotel and that I needed to rent a car or take a taxi ($55 one way). I was not a happy camper. We ended up needing to rent a car. The good news is, once you're at the hotel and you want to go to any amusement park in the area, they provide shuttles. There are three times in the morning and three times in the evening when shuttles take you to theme parks and pick you up and bring you back to the hotel. We just went to Universal Orlando, and did not have to pay the huge $20 fee for parking. If you don't take the earliest shuttle to the parks, come down to the information desk early and get your passes for the shuttle, or you'll likely miss out. We scored in terms of price with travelocity. $240 per person including round trip airfare for four days.
