Beautiful hotel -- formerly known as the Brock Plaza hotel.  It was renovated this year and the location is excellent -- a 1 minute walk to the Rainbow Bridge -- and most rooms have excellent views of the falls (well, at least the half facing that way!)

The hotel has a Starbucks on the first floor (lobby is on the 2nd) and shares a parking garage with the Niagara Casino, next door.

A 30 second walk from the hotel will pass by the Hard Rock Cafe on the way to Clifton Hill, a tourist-trap but fun area which has many wax museums, arcades, restaurants, gift shops, and the new Niagara Sky Wheel, a large ferris wheel with great views of the Falls.

The rooms are rather small (the hotel was built in the 20s), but, as I mentioned, completely refurbished and modern.

My only 2 complaints were that the walls weren't thick enough (I could hear a baby crying in another room -- but I couldn't hear sounds of TVs or talking) and the wait for the elevators was painfully long.

Parking is $10 a night, in and out privleges, in one of the most convenient places in Niagara Falls.  You probably don't need your car at all, actually.

I would stay here again anytime, provided I had a view of the falls.

History

Established in 1927

The Historic Crowne Plaza Hotel, previously the Brock Plaza
The Crowne Plaza Originally named the General Brock Hotel, began in 1927 with construction taking just over half a year to complete, at the time, establishing a record for this particular type of construction. Built at a cost of $1.5 million dollars the Brock Plaza boasted 260 guestrooms, and featured a roof garden, fireproof construction and a large Grand ballroom. The local press called it "a mammoth edifice, gleaming white in the sunlight, classic in appearance, looming over the Niagara River." In later years, renovations to the Fallsview Rainbow Dining room saw two floors constructed and dedicated in 1948.

The Hotel was first named in honour of Major General Sir Isaac Brock, one of Canada's greatest heroes. Today, Queenston Heights the point of land that Brock was protecting in the battle is home to Brock's Monument a 190-foot tower that features a statue of the General at the top.
