Through Crown Taxi is actually from Gatineau, they also serve the Ottawa. We caught a cab outside of Dunn's at about 3am after a night at a downtown club and a late bite to eat.
I don't take Crown as often as I do Blue Line, but it wasn't anything special, nor was it bad in any way. It was pretty much your standard ride and fare, and the cab driver took a faster route based on our directions, which we appreciated. He drove fast enough, but not reckless, as it was snowing and slushy outside. It took less than 10 minutes and about 10 dollars to get from downtown to Centretown/the Glebe. -

If you can, stay away from Crown Taxi, possibly the rudest, least responsive taxi service I have ever had to use. A product of a caste-like regulatory system that segregates taxi service on either side of the provincial border, Crown Taxi's service is based on the principle that you better be grateful they are serving you. Surly dispatch, and drivers who for the most part act like union bosses in their own cabs. Once, I even witnessed one go postal when he missed a fare that he felt he was entitled to have.
Do yourself a favour, and skip Crown. Go with Regal or Aylmer instead.
