Wow!
Gold plated fire-hydrants? Check!
Incredible grounds? Check!
Great service? Check!
This is the ultimate in Vancouver Island luxury, tucked away up in unassuming Courtenay.
With individual villas and a championship golf course, this resort community really lives up to the extravagant image projected by these kinds of places.
The service from staff was incredible during my stay and the room itself was an amazing suite with a fire place and wonderful jacuzzi. (Though the 'stars' on the ceiling above the jacuzzi were a bit tacky).
There are two restaurants with great food - one is a pub style place with decent pub grub at fairly reasonable prices while the other is a more pricey steakhouse.
The price of an overnight room is quite steep and a round of golf in peak season will cost a pretty penny, also. But for the golf lover in your family, or even just a getaway mid-Island, this place is gorgeous! -

Woo hoo! Luxury!
I agree with Ashleigh, if you get one of the villas your stay will be sweet! Waking up with a beautiful view of the fairways. Soaking in your private Jacuzzi, or relaxing in front of one of the fireplaces in your bedroom or living room. Wandering out of your back door and relaxing in a lawn chair beside the fairway. Full kitchen! 5 shower heads in the shower! I'm impressed! Yes, it's starting to age. Flat screen televisions would be a nice addition. The fireplace in my bedroom had an extremely noisy fan which cannot be switched off. Those two items cause it to lose a star. But overall you can't go far wrong here.
Just so you know, not all the suites in the place are created equal. Only the higher priced suites include the full kitchen or Jacuzzi, so be sure to ask what you are getting when making reservations. -

The visuals of this course is stunning. The faiways wind around tall trees and is lined with the villas of this resort community.
The fairways and greens well kept and service is great from the proshop staff. -

This place was designed with the PURE class of 1995, and it hasn't aged well.. but you can imagine that it once was cool. Bright red carpets, bad floral sofa and bed sheets, oh and the BEST jacuzzi tub with disco lights on the roof! The suite, which felt more like a town home, was large and included a kitchen unit, balcony overlooking the golf course, and lots of parking. The club house and dining lounge is grand but very 1995. We ordered food and it was all very good for pub style food.
If your looking for a nice place to relax in Comox, this would be my pick. -

The resort hosted the Real Estate Council of BC for two days of meetings - and golf! Rave reviews about the rooms, the value and the food. Side trips to the car museum via the cigar bar were a highlight. Excellent value for small group meetings and day conferences up to 200 guests. Vancouver visitors couldn't relate to the price of housing in the resort - from as low as $99,900 for a 1/4 share ownership to the mid two hundreds for a condo and low four hundreds for a home.
