      Out of every single CrossFit affiliate here in metro Vancouver, CrossFit Optimum Performance is bar none the absolute BEST one you can find. It may be a smaller affiliate but do not let that fool you, it is truly the real deal.

      What sets C.O.P. apart from the copious other boxes is the coaches and their vision on how to make Crossfit, a sport we love, sustainable as well as progressive. It possesses the perfect blend of intelligent programming with a weekend warrior tribe-like inclusiveness that nurtures a wonderful fitness family environment. C.O.P. manages to cultivate a beautiful blend of science base strength programming with classic CrossFit which results in an affiliate that understands the fine line between results and over-training.

      I spent months researching different affiliates before settling on C.O.P. and I have to say, it is the best decision I ever made. So take that first step and join the fun!

      I have been a member of this gym for over a year now and I am a better person for it.

      Not only do I feel more physically fit, I also feel empowered. It's amazing to know that you can meet physical challenges head on with the knowledge that you really can do it.

      With the constant guidance and encouragement from the coaches I have gotten consistently better with out hurting myself which is huge. I'm not interested in being injured, so that would have been a major deal breaker for me... but here I am, a year and a half later and still a very satisfied customer.

      It also fosters this great family environment where everybody knows your name, and they're always glad you came... seriously, it's an amazing group of people. Can't say enough about the wonderful friends I have met there.

      So, all in all - It's more than just a great gym, it a place to come and feel AWESOME.

      5 stars all the way.

      First to Review

      I started at COP back in January 2014 and it's been one of the best decisions I've made. I used to be a member at a regular fitness center and used whatever knowledge I learned from weight lifting back in my high school football days. Unfortunately, without proper coaching I found myself getting injured quite often and realized slow gains. Combined with a desk job, I quickly packed on the weight.

      So, I decided to give COP a try and a some of the things I found that keeps me coming are the following:

      Coaching: Brad (Popeye) and Mitch are two of the best coaches I've had. Popeye's knowledge extends beyond CrossFit. He is well versed in different areas including health & nutrition and strength training to name a few. He is versatile enough to train high performance athletes to individuals who are seeking to just get in the best shape of their lives. Also, what I really like is how the coaches keep themselves current with all the latest trends, techniques, etc. and seek to educate us about what's legit or not. Most importantly, the coaches are very thorough when going over the techniques and ensures that we are doing movescorrectly and safely as to prevent injuries. The smaller class sizes allow the coaches to give members more attention and personalized instructions. Whatever goals you have, these two coaches will help you reach it. I'm very fortunate to have these two in my corner.

      Programming: After 7 months I am still finding the workouts enjoyable and have enough flexibility to allow me to push myself hard to challenge myself. By following the regular programs I was able to drop my weight from near 200lbs in the beginning of the year to just a little under 170lbs. Popeye applies his knowledge and expertise to meticulously programs the workout cycles to achieve maximum results while ensuring that individuals don't strain themselves from overtraining. COP understands that CrossFit is very demanding on the body and I really like that there is very good balance of intense and light workouts during the cycles. It isn't simply about working harder, but also working smarter. I recently started the nutrition/diet plan to supplement the regular program to fast track results. I've managed to become more lean and keep my energy levels high - all done in a healthy and sustainable way. It also helps to have these coaches keep you accountable by checking up on your progress and providing extra tips.

      Lastly, the people and community: COP has a very welcoming community. The people are of diverse backgrounds but still manage to get along and support one another. Being able to have fun while being at COP makes it easier to keep coming back.

      Bottom line, COP is a great place for people looking into CrossFit or to just get into shape. They've got some of the best coaches and the best people. I urge people to give it a try.

      After years of going on and off to local gyms, I still wasn't getting the results that I wanted. Six months after joining COP, I'm in the best shape of my life. If you're considering Crossfit or any other serious fitness regimen, call Brad at COP to see why this gym stands out. He is incredibly knowledgeable and professional. The members are all mature and supportive...no a-holes at this gym.
