This is one of the best cultural centres around. Great for all sorts of events, with a huge parking lot and many street parking as well. Went to a crafts show and they even serve beer how cool is that?

I love the Croatian Culture Centre and my love for it goes back over a decade.
Growing up in Vancouver playing and obsessing over the local music scene as a teen the CCC was one of the few venues that all ages shows were played at and I have to give the CCC a huge high five for that. Over the last few years there have been closures of more and more all ages venues and the CCC continues to have shows and I think that's great.
The CCC also hosts Make It and all sorts of other local craft and arts shows which is fantastic. With two separate rooms and high ceilings it makes a great venue for arts and music.
Close to the skytrain and close to my house this is totally on my top local venues list. -

Two stages in two rooms, modern bathrooms, ample parking -- no wonder why folks like hosting events at the Croatian Cultural Centre.
It's not so much the space as much as it's the remarkable events that often happen here. Case in point, the Retro Show, this past weekend. Whoever is booking the events does a fantastic job at finding some great ones! And the fact that you can also get a drink, use an ATM or not be grossed out by a bathroom are all assets.
Parking tips: arrive early, circle the lot, and if you're without a spot, find yours just north under the skytrain line or on Commercial Drive. Ample, yes, if you're wiling to have a look.

Wow. Nice big hall.
The Make-it craft fair fit nicely, if not a teensy bit tightly. I guess bumping bumsies isn't so terrible though. It was totally worth it to visit all the booths of fantasticly creative craftisans. (Yeah I just made up a word, craft/artisan.)
I got to the end and had to refocus my eyes. There's a bar! Nice touch.
The snack area though.... eek, me thinks not. Thank goodness the pakora truck was invited. http://www.varinicey.com/

The Croatian Cultural Centre is a huge venue with two large areas for holding mega-sized weddings. If you're one of those people with 77 cousins, 33 aunts, and 22 uncles, you'll likely want to check out this spot as a potential venue for any big events. They have a large kitchen and pretty extensive catering facilities
The bar at the center is a sports bar, so expect soccer games to be on whenever possible. There are also nightly Bingo games. -

I mostly know the Croatian Cultural Centre as a place that holds little weekend bazaars and all ages concerts. It's not quite your run of the mill community hall though.
For one, Vancouver seems to only have very small community halls which I can't imagine hosting big weddings or the like. The Croatian Cultural Centre is one of the larger I've seen in my life and absolutely dwarfs what most of the city has to offer. Even within the venue there are TWO massive halls for such events so...no bride wars necessary I suppose.
I've been to record shows, used clothing sales and an all ages show and the place has always been clean, well attended and enjoyable. You have to appreciate the convenient location right along Commercial as it winds into Victoria.
So yes, I hear it has very reasonable rates and could host just about any kind of events imaginable. Plus, bar attached... who could ask for more? -

Was stuffed into a little room to listen to an Economist explain why Vancouver Real Estate rocks, They had the usual buffet... eggs (until they ran out) Bacon, hash brown pellets I think they have bigger and better rooms than the one we got ... it was long and skinny just not good for a speaker and buffet

The Croatian Cultural Centre is a fabulous venue that has lots of free parking and easy access to the Sky Train. They recently did a lot of renovations which made a big difference. I think this might be the largest cultural centres in Vancouver which is why they probably have so many cool ongoing events.
