I've been here for lunch and late b'fast dessert crepes but i was not aware that they were opened till 3a++ on the weekends!
    WHA??????????
Amazing. We came here for a midnight snack after both 21st Amendment and District closed their kitchens before midnight (LAME-O)

I've been back a couple more times, only slightly more sober... and the food definitely is nothing to write home about. I've had a savory one (with chicken, spinach, mushroom, tomatoes, and bechamel sauce) and a dessert one (brownie chunks, chocolate, and strawberries maybe?). The savory one was pretty standard -- what you'd get at most chain creperies like the crepevine, etc. -- but nothing special. The dessert one was also pretty standard, but the chocolate/fillings were not spread evenly and so 1/4 of  the time I was eating it, it was just the buckwheat... :(

Anyways, the reason I'm leaving it at 3 stars is because sure, I'd come back -- what else is open so late on a Saturday night in my hood? And they're super friendly and the wait actually isn't that long. But I would probably not come here for lunch or recommend going out of your way to come here.

i am usually hesitant about eating crepes, because there are so many places who do not make them well.  Creperie Saint Germain is not one of those places.  Their Salmon crepes is so good!  Plus the buckwheat batter is delicious and unique.

I highly recommend this place for good decently priced food.

Funny that I was in Paris for a week but didnt have any crepes. I then get back to CA and go to two places. One of them being at a shack in a parking lot in Soma. Surprisingly though a fairly good crepe even at 2 am. Ham, cheese and bacon is generally hard to go wrong with. They definitely executed here. What a treat fr those drunkards coming out of the bars and clubs. I guess I heard they're opening two more locations so they must be doing something right

I've had a lot better.  Ate here a few days ago, and ordered the rock shrimp crepe, with avocado, tarragon, basil, lime and lettuce.  Sounded great, but the fact that I was one of the very few customers to be seen in their little plaza should have been a clue.  They forgot most of the ingredients, and the shrimp was not rock shrimp at all... it was just some very small, boiled shrimp.  Overall it was the buckwheat crepe with small, watery shrimp and a lot of dry lettuce.

I also got the chocolate crepe with banana, coconut, caramel sauce and almonds.  Again with the forgetting of the ingredients, because it had the banana and the chocolate, that was it.

I feel like this is one of those cases where the owner of the chain tried to get his/her employees up to speed at the beginning, then just let them go.  They don't seem to know what they're doing at all.  The owner could do well to check up on what's going on there every once in a while, 'cause it's gone down the drain.

Another one of the many restaurants that used to cater for our office, I can't claim to have ever been to their actual truck before. As caterers though, they'll bring in all the ingredients necessary to make many of the crepes they have to offer, both savory and sweet, along with some portable crepe griddles, to make them hot and fresh, as requested.

The buckwheat batter used to make the crepes is definitely a matter of personal preference - my taste buds tend to prefer the standard crepe batter used elsewhere, as well as thinner crepes, but this isn't terrible, by any means (and hey, it's supposed to be healthier right?). Overall, not bad, but not amazing. If you're in the area, and are hungry, they make for a decent choice, but I certainly wouldn't go out of my way to come here. Besides, if you're looking for tasty dessert crepes, Genki Crepes out in Inner Richmond is kind of awesome, and worth the trek.

    January rainstorm in SOMA.

But I have waited far too long for a haircut. And today simply must be the day. Didn't bother to bring an umbrella. It's haircut day anyway, right?

    Grumble grumble.

Oh that's right. I forgot to get any lunch. And now it's after 2pm. And here I am waiting for the light at 2nd and Folsom.

Rain rain rain. Walk walk walk. Rain rain rain.

Oh! There's that Crepe place up ahead on the corner. I wonder if they are open? I know they were closing for a remodel or something.

    Yes! They are open!

Stand under the awning. Check out the menu. Hmmm. What to have. What to have. Let's go with something healthy. How about the Ratatouille Crepe? Eggplant, bell pepper, onions, spinach and cheese. Sounds delightful.

Love the smell of rain. City needed a bath anyway. Sniff sniff. Oh my. That crepe in there smells gooooooood.

There it is. Oooh. Warm. A little fragrant handwarmer to walk with. Sniffffffff. Mmmm. That smells good.

Walk walk. Rain rain. Sniff sniff. Okay I need to stop somewhere and get a bite. This overhang will do. Hopefully no one tries to open this door.

Just one bite. Nom... mmmm... Oh wow that was good. Nom. mmmm... sooooo good. Nom.... nom.... NOM NOM NOM NOM NOM NOM NOM NOM NOM NOM NOM NOM NOM NOM NOM NOM NOM NOM NOM NOM NOM NOM NOM NOM NOM NOM NOM NOM NOM NOM NOM NOM NOM NOM NOM NOM NOM NOM NOM NOM NOM NOM NOM NOM NOM NOM NOM NOM NOM NOM NOM NOM NOM NOM NOM NOM NOM NOM NOM NOM NOM NOM NOM NOM NOM NOM NOM NOM NOM NOM NOM NOM.... Whew. I don't know what came over me there. Why am I standing here? Where am I? Oh yeah. Haircut. MMMmmmmm. Happy belly.

Quick Review: Filling but not Food Coma status. Good portion for lunch, fair price and tastes pretty good.

It was one of those unreal movie moments. One day I couldn't figure out what I wanted for lunch. I was actually craving a crepe but I didn't know any place with a good crepe in teh area. I was walking to some sandwich place and I saw a guy walking with a crepe. I ended up getting a sandwich that day. But! while I ate it I yelped crepes in the area and found this place!

A week or two later the crepe craving returned (crepeing?) and I made my way to Creperie Saint Germain.

It's located in the corner of a parking lot and looks like a small bungalow or immobilized food truck. Whatever keeps the overhead down. I felt like a spy when I was ordering because it just doesn't look like a place food is served, but is.

The crepe took some time to be made and there were a few people ahead of me. I had a chicken spinach cheese mushroom crepe and it was good. the mushrooms stood out the most but it all blended well, especially with the buckwheat crepe. Definitely better than if it was a sandwich. Score one for the savory crepes in the sandwich vs crepe battle.

I wouldn't make a trip out of my way to get a crepe here, but I would get some if I was in the area.

Creperie Saint Germain is an extremely convenient crepe place down in the Fi-Di. They're located on the patio area of the Citigroup building on the corner of Sansome & Sutter. Extremely close to the office so it's one of the places I frequent. My favorite is their salmon w/ capers & spinach crepe. It's awesome! They have a ton of other ones and have something for everyone. Their Maya's lover is good too!

One thing though, when they first started out their crepes were HUGE, and the lines reflected now. Now, not so many lines, and crepe is not as big. Still a good place!

Found this little gem on accident after a night on the dancefloor. Seriously one of the best crepes I've ever had...and I was completely sober! The chicken greek crepe is the one I tried and it was scrumptious. It was healthy yet so good, so no guilty feelings here. Definitely coming back here for my crepe cravings over crepevine :)

FYI: Its like a permanent wooden food truck on the corner. Don't expect any seats here, but definitely worth the wait outside in the cold.

Was heading to The Sentinel to try their allegedly fantastic sandwiches, but didn't make it past this corner (and am totally okay with that).

Five stars for ample vegetarian options and high deliciousness quotient. While I was eating my Greek crepe, I was thinking about going back and buying another crepe--it was that good.

So excited to work on the same block as this place.

I wasn't a huge fan of the buckwheat crepe, but I did like the filling. I got the ratatouille one with eggplant, spinach, onions and cheese. I like how it came out like an ice cream, which made it portable to my eating spot. It was oh so delicious and just the right amount for lunch. It didn't give me the food coma afterwards.

Ok so apparently one of the side effects of beer is that it makes EVERYTHING TASTE DELICIOUS. That being said, I was drunk and decided to have a crepe at this place.

I had a nutella and strawberry crepe shared with my fat and I mean FAT friend, so there was very little left to eat, but whatever I did eat was frickin delicious. Mother says sugar is for good children but I told mother "I do way ah want!" and then I snapped my fingers three times, snap snap snap, and delivered the sass. She had nothing to say after that, thats right mom. Sugar all day, every day!

At the beginning of our staycation in San Francisco, the boyfriend surprised me by taking me here for our first meal out in the city. It's this quaint little crepe cart that sits in a parking lot. You walk up to the little window, order, pay, then sit on the curb to wait until they call your number for your crepe.

Now, I am a huuuuge fan of dessert crepes (I used to try to get one about once every two weeks or so while I was still in school), so I was thrilled when he showed me the place. I can't remember what we got now (it's what I get for writing the review months after we actually visited the place), but I do remember that they were savory crepes because we were starving and it was lunchtime.

The wait was short and we walked ourselves over to the nearby Yerba Buena Garden to enjoy our crepes. I remember them being big, filling and absolutely delicious (that's what she said).

I want to give them a higher rating, but I honestly don't remember much about the place. I'll have to try them again, then update this review at another time. I would recommend them -- but I just don't remember any specific things to recommend.

Every now and then I get a craving for quick fix crepes. Where do I head off to? Why, Creperie Saint Germain, of course!

A photobooth sized establishment, this place knows how to rock out quick and tasty sweet or savory crepes. My personal fave is the Mediterranean. The ingredients are fresh and the buckwheat batter is pretty good. Their customer service is always pleasant.

Nice place to grab some lunch. Oh, and like I've mentioned above, this place is the size of a closet (no tables or chairs), so expect your yummy crepe to be eaten on foot or to go.

I guess I'm a tough critic especially hailing from France.  The crepes that we ordered was so bland, but i guess to my American friends, they thought it was the bomb.
Hey, to each their own taste but seriously, this place would not even last in France.  One of our friends ordered the banana dessert crepes, the dough was so bland like eating paper, no taste, flavor or sweetness.  I guess it's a great spot for those who come here after drinking, most people drunk can't really tell if it's really good or not.
Me being the sober one decided to take a bite and one was enough.  Not my cup of tea but hey, not everyone has the chance to fly to France and enjoy a real crepes.  At least SF, has a crepes stand unlike so.cal where we have Dirty dogs.

Good place for lunch when in the financial district. It's around $7.50 a crepe which is average for places around the area.

I got the chicken crepe which has chicken, bechamel sauce, tomatoes, spinach, and cheese. The spinach wasn't cooked, but overall still a good savory crepe with crispy edges :)

Warm crepes filled with interesting ingredients. Each crepe is a moderate portion size for a healthy, satisfying lunch.

I've eaten at the food stand several times, each time with a different person taking orders. The people who work here are friendly, hip, and good-looking, and usually listening to some funky music on their kitchen radio. There is always a line, because fresh-cooked crepes can't be rushed. The wait is worthwhile. The food is excellent. I would give this place 5 stars if the prices were a little lower.

I've also enjoyed Creperie Saint German for two lunches at work when the cooks brought coolers of ingredients and cooked for us in the office kitchen. This made me happy for the rest of the day.

Ordered a #5: Cheddar Cheese, Two Eggs Scrambled, Tomato, Crème Fraiche, Basil, Mushroom $7.50

Took it back to my office and discovered there was in fact no basil in it. I called the truck and tell "head cashier Natasha" that I didn't get what I ordered because wasn't there supposed to be basil? She said, "It's just basil mam, it's like salt and pepper, it's not like you didn't get what you ordered. You got what you ordered but without basil."

WTF kind of response is that? No apology?

No, the customer is not always right, but in this case I definitely didn't get what I ordered and didn't need Natasha telling me that I did in fact get what I ordered, just without basil. So then it's not what I ordered then, right? And likening basil to salt and pepper is just stupid. Never again.

We all know the claim of "healty" crepes is a joke & a horrible typo on their signage.  Besides that, the Creperie is excellent.  I ordered a nutella & Strawberry crepe, it came topped with a mound of whipped cream.  For $6.50 this is one of my better cheap treats while visiting San Fran.  Bonus: it's across the street from my hotel, Courtyard Downtown.  The savory options looked great, I may have to try them for breakfast.

I've been to this creperie twice. The first thing is the timing--they open at 8 but only kinda. Both times I've hovered around 8:10 and they were only opening up so don't be there too on time.

Second, the guy is very very nice, but he doesn't like to multitask very much. If he's working on a crepe for someone, he's going to have to get mostly through that crepe before he gets to yours.

Third, they are pretty good with changes but not very. Both times I asked for "very light cheese" and the first time I got a mountain and the second time I got a regular amount--neither times was it even somewhat light.

I like this guy and it's great having a buckwheat crepe place so near my office but it definitely could use a few improvements.

Came here while clubbing. My buddy got smashed, left the club, and was wandering the streets of SF (he ended up kissing a transvestite but that's a story for another time).

Anyhow, I went out to search for him, but I was super hungry so I made a pit stop.  I figured if he was passed out in a ditch somewhere, he could wait a few more minutes while I ate.

So I ordered the number 20, the guy told me the price without blinking an eye.  He had it memorized! WTFeezy there's like 40 crepes with different prices for all of them.  What a pro.

3 minutes later, I had my crepe in my hand.  It was large, stuffed with spinach and being drunk, tasted pretty damn good.  The spinach was uncooked but because everything was so hot, it wilted to just the right texture.  Whatever sauce it was in the crepe was exquisite.

I can see why this place gets a huge line after the clubs let out, I'm glad I got there early.

Check it out next time you're out and about on Howard.

After roaming around the streets past midnight and finding out that every restaurant's kitchen was closed, my friends and I settled for crepes at this spot. A modest little stand, but I kid you not, they make a pretty damn good crepe! Better than some crepes I've had at sit down restaurants. I got the #14 (cheese, bacon, mushroom, creme fraiche) and it was super filling. If only I had room for a dessert crepe (that is my only gripe). They use buckwheat batter which I'm usually not a fan of, but here it was quite delicious! The guy behind the counter is nice and slightly witty too. What's not to love?

The crepes here are good in so far as everything is very clean and healthy.  It's buckwheat based, so its got plenty of good fiber for you healthy eaters.

I also note that they treated my mushrooms (in my mushroom spinach crepe) as mushrooms should be treated: with a slight bit of butter, and not over sauteed so all the juices come out, and with a bit of crunch still left.

Nonetheless, as much as I like this place, I have to give it only 3 stars because I think the crepe skin should be much thinner!  Sorry, but I have had my fill of crepes in Europe, and any place with a European name should really be able to follow suit.

The quality of the ingredients here is really excellent, however!

I always pass this stand on the way to work and was tempted to try them out. They have a nice selection of breakfast, lunch, brunch and dessert crepes. This is your typical eatery stand on the corner of a parking lot, so during the mid-day it can be as loud as the city traffic around it.

I tried the Chicken Ceasar Salad crepe and it was fantastic. I think all it was missing was a Ceasar dressing topping to give it the extra kick of flavor it needed to make good to yummy.

Would definitely stop by here again on the way to work if I'm waiting at the bus stop awhile nearby.

It's lunchtime in SOMA and you don't want a sandwich. Not today.

You've ruled out Indian food. You had Mexican food the last three days in a row (maybe you live in the mission).

You'd get curry or noodles, but it'd be too carb-y. Soup is not quite filling enough. Pizza or other italian food is simply too greasy or too heavy. Gyros sound somewhat appealing, if a touch mundane.

That's everything. You've eliminated every feasible SOMA lunchtime food.

Except one. To paraphrase the late Marshall Mathers, "[you]  act like [you] forgot about [Crepes]."

Creperie St. Germaine brings a suite of savory and dessert crepe concoctions to the figurative table (they are a truck and have no literal tables).

My favorite right now is the "Got Goat" but I'm also partial to the Mediterranean and augmenting any existing crepe with avocados.

The portions are the right size, and the ingredient and flavor combinations will keep you guessing, while tantalizing and delighting your jaded palate. Crepes: they are so much more than the greatest Radiohead song of all time. They're what's for lunch. Today.

Marvelous. The crepes were oh-so-slightly crisp at the edges, yet soft and just a tad chewy throughout -- perfection!

I tried two, because I wanted to get a feel of their savory and sweet selections. I had the turkey/cranberry one for the savory, and...well, I'd pick a different one, simply because there wasn't a whole lot of creme fraiche.

The dessert one of strawberries and creme fraiche (again) was marvelous, however.

A little pricey, but well worth it for real crepes. Yay!

So, I've eaten a lot of crepes in my lifetime.  Like, a lot of crepes.  I've had hand-held crepes, fancy dinner-type crepes, traditional crepes, fusion crepes, savory crepes, sweet crepes.  You name it, I have probably found it in a crepe and eaten it.  With that background knowledge, I will now make a statement:

Creperie Saint-Germain makes the very best crepes I have ever eaten.

Like, hands down.  The first time I had one of their crepes I bit into it and actually literally thought, "This is going to be the best crepe I have ever eaten."  And then it was.  And then I went back over the weeks and had some more.  And my opinion has not changed one bit.  If anything, every bite of crepe only serves to strengthen my resolve.

Why?  Well, I'll tell you!  For starters, I'm super conscious about eating healthy, and while crepes in general are usually on the short list of things I can eat guilt-free, CSG crepes are made with buckwheat - and that's even healthier!  They mention that.  What they don't mention is that, despite being healthier, it's also the squishiest, butteriest, richest tasting crepe around.  I don't even care what they fill it with, as long as I can eat something that tastes that good and is that good for me.

Except I lied.  I do care what they fill it with.  Which is AWESOME.  They could pretty much change all their menu options to "awesome, awesome, and awesome with awesomecheese" and it would be accurate.  This is definitely not objective at all, but the combinations of ingredients they put in their crepes seem very fresh and innovative to me.  They have a lot of vegetarian options, they have shrimp, they have beef, they utilize turkey in a variety of different ways, and the flavors range from the classic to the creative - goat cheese and jalapeno?  Count me in.  My favorite is the ratatouille, and I pay the extra for the goat cheese; it's totally worth it.  Creamy cheese, creamy eggplant, creamy crepe - and then the crunch of the spinach and green onions.  I just had one not 12 hours ago, and I'm ready for another.

I also really, really like the customer service.  When I've been there, the servers are always really friendly and smiley, and don't even mind making a little small talk if they're not crazily busy. :)

One of the issues that I've come across with is that they do run out of ingredients more often than I might like.  I really don't know how this could be prevented, though, since they're essentially a food stand with a limited amount of space, and are cut off from any sort of larger kitchen.  It definitely pays to have a backup plan if you absolutely don't want your beef to be substituted for chicken, for example.

I also know they don't really do substitutions on request, which would seem odd since they substitute when they run out of things, but not before.  Today I learned that it's because all of their pre-made crepe fillings come pre-mixed.  Fortunately, they also have a really affordable make-your-own option: at other places, custom orders can get pretty spendy, but a custom CSG crepe really isn't too much worse than a regular one.

Also a downside that goes along with being a food stand and not a restaurant is that there's no seating.  But I do find that it's a perfect way to get out of the office around lunch time, take a nice walk, and either bring a crepe back to work or start stuffing my face on the walk back.

CSG is truly my new favorite crepe place and if you like big, buttery-tasting crepes that aren't actually buttery at all, then eating a CSG crepe will be like dying and going to a heaven where skinny, beautiful people alternate playing harps with gorging themselves on crepes.  And be sure to get a stamp card!  Every seventh crepe is free!

Ahh, crepes, food of the gods!

Creature of habit that I am, most days you can set your watch to my stately march across the street to this lovely crepe stand.  I get the Mediterranean (Feta Cheese, Avocado, Spinach, Green Onion) every time, it's delicious.

I also have to point out the excellent customer service.  Every time I come, I'm warmly greeted with a smile and my name is remembered.  That goes a long way.

This place has the best savory crepe's I've ever had (that I can remember)! They put SO many ingredients into the crepe, and for some reason, it's not all dripping out as you walk and eat.

I tried the chicken, which was soooo delicious. Cheesy and creamy and very crisp.

I also tried the ratatouille. It was good, but I didn't like it as much (probably because there was no meat). It had eggplant/onions/spinach/cheese.

    Both were $7.50.

    YUMMMMMMMMMM

Definitely going to try a sweet one next time. :)

Now  I would recommend this over Sushiritto anyday! Quick/friendly service - cheap prices for crepe sandwiches - I had the mushroom veggie and it was delicious - it took three/five minutes to make.  Not premaid and no mayo crap..... it was light, tasty and filling.  Its a food crepe truck that serves quality/tasty restaurant style crepes at cheap price on the go! Check it out!
