Review from Mark H.
Great mom and pop creperie in the evolving River Market at the Quay.
Crepes are usually overrated. Kind of like having disappointing pancakes (though waffles are still king). But this place dishes out good ones.
The owner and the girl working at the time were super enthusiastic and welcoming. The pleasant smell of madeleines baking in the oven (I regret not ordering) made it hard to concentrate on ordering.
I went for Quebec (Ham,Canadian maple syrup & cheese) and also sampled the Medditerannee (Roasted chicken, cucumbers, tomatoes ,olives, cheese with Mediterranean dressing). They make whole wheat crepes which I definitely prefer. All the ingredients were fresh and surprisingly filling, especially the Medditerannee.
With a live singer belting out soulful renditions of Beatles songs, it's a relaxing place to be.
I will be back.Listed in: Best Cheap Eats

First of all, Christine is right - the toppings aren't cooked, and I can't speak for the sweet ones, because all we got was the Parisienne (Ham and Cheese).
What I can say, as that the ham and cheese was delicious. A classic ham and cheese. Our crepe was anything but doughy, and the flavour was eggy and neutral, the way I like a crepe - after all, It's not an omelette! Most of the cheese was melted, and the unmelted cheese had added for a nice texture.
While the others could benefit from cooked ingredients, the atmosphere is lovely and I don't feel like the quality was low as indicated below. I rather liked it and will definitely return again - this time for nutella and banana!!! Or that lemon sugar one. I saw that one made and it, quite literally, made my mouth water. -

This brand-new Parisian-style crepe shop in the River Market looked good, but didn't deliver the goods. The crepes were bland and doughy, and despite being freshly made before our eyes, they were also lukewarm. My savoury Cannes crepe benefited a little from some melted cheese in the centre, but otherwise featured raw spinach, mushrooms and tomatoes. Raw mushrooms = ech. My husband's sweet Isabelle crepe with peanut butter and chocolate sounded promising, but the PB tasted gross and the chocolate was not good quality - it was a blessing there was so few sad little chocolate chips sprinkled into the crepe.
Presentation and toppings are also really lacking, as in non-existent. If you're going to have chocolate for example, why not drizzle some good chocolate across the crepe, and maybe offer whipped cream or maple syrup as options? For savouries, use some cooked ingredients and sprinkle some good cheese or drizzle some kind of sauce on it to liven things up. (the owner/chef is French, so I would hope he would have some passing acquaintance with sauces). Anything to prevent me from feeling like I'm eating a dry, cold pancake with raw food inside. I kind of got bored with eating the thing, frankly, before I was done.
This creperie needs to kick up the ingredient quality a couple notches, get their grills at optimal heat, and figure out how to deliver at least a warm crepe if they want my return business. -

I have been to this wonderful crepes place many times. I've enjoyed the Lyons and the Mediterranean crepes. Both were very hot, super fresh (mushroms and spinach) and delicious. Other patrons were also raving about the crepes every time I've been here.
The owner is french and very friendly. They play traditional french music while he makes the crepes in front of you. It's a nice causal atmosphere.
It's quick, tasty, healthy and easy!
