Best latte and cookie option in the area.
Delicious lattes, pretty good cookies, delicious butter tart. Their other stuff looks great too. Unfortunately the Clover brewed coffee was bitter the only time I got it. That's the only downfall. The Starbucks just north of here did a better Clover coffee.
Loyalty card gets you the 11th beverage free.
Wish they were open later like Starbucks or at least as late as the Freshii they share a space with. A delicious Crema latte after dinner would be awesome.1 Previous Review: Show all »

I am so glad this coffee place opened up in this little tiny space. There's not a lot of other choices for good coffee in this area. I usually go to Lettieri in Yorkville but now at least I have another option.
Great cappuccinos and amazing butter tarts. Like seriously, YOU HAVE TO GET ONE. -

I generally try not to start an early morning at work without a coffee from Crema for fear of falling asleep in a meeting and drooling on my VP's important files. I think that's what they call a CLM (career limiting move).
Stopped into Crema to grab an Americano ($3.10) and a citrus bran muffin ($2.50). They had a nice assortment of pastries including scones, croissants and cookies all priced at $2.50. I do remember that in the summer, they had a special that was get a free pastry with the purchase of a coffee so that was a nice surprise. I ended up picking the lemon scone.
Service is friendly and chatty. No complaints here.
There are many other options for coffee in this area (Timmy's, Starbucks, Timothy's, the coffee machine in my office's lunch room) but Crema is a nice treat from the norm.Listed in: Dirty 30 Days of Reviews

This location of Crema Coffee is one of those that I almost walked by without even it exist.
Such a small storefront. Great to come on a nice day because sipping coffee at one of those tables on Bloor Street watching the world buzzing by is an experience in itself.
Cappuccino? How was it? I don't remember much, all I remembered were the cars, the smoke, the annoying guitar player that would not leave me alone!

My friend read that they had the best cappuccino in the city so we decided to check it out. It seemed close to where we lived but neither of us could actually picture it. It wasn't until we got there that we realized we have seen the little coffee shop so many times walking by but never actually went in. It's a part of Freshi - so it just seems like an after thought attachment to the restaurant.
I'm not a cappuccino drinker so really they didn't have to work very hard to impress me. I've had cappuccino only a handful of times and always found them bitter so i was a little reluctant to try it here.
They reminded us that they are actually voted no. 2 on blogTO but they really were no. 1 and they were!
I LOVED the cappuccino here - i had to add some sugar to get it to my liking but it really was fantastic!!
A hidden gem on Bloor street with good looking treats as well - must try on next visit.
I wish it had a bigger place to sit down and have the whole coffee shop experience - that would make it five-stars for me!! -

I was surprised to find Crema in this area where I expect only chains. As has been said many times already, this is a strange little coffee nook. It's inside a Freshii, tucked away in the corner by the door. It's teeny teeny, with only a small bar for seating. There are a few tables out front, though, which provide a great vantage for watching Toronto walk by.
My soy latte was beautiful - the coffee art at Crema is fantastic. As with the last soy latte I had at Crema (in the Junction), this one was light, soft, and delicious. A nice indie coffee alternative to sustain you in your Bloor St. shopping.Listed in: 30 Day Yelp Challenge!

It's tough to write a review for a spot that's little more than a countertop and a few pieces of fancy equipment, subletting space from an aspiring salad chain.
But here I am, rocked like a hurricane by one of the best lattes this city has to offer.
Bonus points for one of the city's only surviving pre-Starbucks-buyout Clover coffee machines. I don't know how that baby works, but man it produces a smooth and fragrant brew.
Crema features a rotating selection of drip and clover cdoffees, some as high as $7 a cup.
That may be a bit rich for my blood, but the occasional jazzy varietal is worth the splurge.
Wine afficionadoes (you know the type; the guys who can pull out flavours ranging from tobacco to fruit to wet socks) will understand the complexity that results.
Prices are a bit higher than the neighbourhood chain average, but if you're shopping at Holt Renfrew across the street, or working in a Bay Street office tower, the presumption is that you can afford to shell out a bit more.
Baked goods, including brown-paper-collarred muffins loaded with fruit, look great but are entirely beside the point.
Steamed milk achieves microfoamtastic sweetness, swirled over a perfectly short pair of espresso shots.
Cute designs are more basic than the Bulldog's, but since I usually take mine lidded, to go I prefer the effort to g into what's inside the cup, rather than how pretty it is.
Service is hipsterrifically knowledgeable.
Crema even makes the standard tip jar experience fun: a pair of espresso cups are usually decorated with pictures of duelling newsmakers. The public votes with it's feet; unless some wiseacre decides to say, empty Margaret Atwood's change into Rob Ford's cup, as revenge for a high school semester spent reading "Cat's Eye".

Love this little coffee shop in the evenings. It's always very quiet once the work crowd heads home from their Bloor St offices. It's open later than most coffee shops and there are always lots of tables, including a few outside. The Americanos are awesome, as are the 'gypsies' (sp?) - a vegan, gluten-free, granola-type cookie that is soft and delicious (note: I also have an unhealthy obsession with trail mix and all things nuts/seeds/dried fruit-related). The barista is also very friendly!
If you're headed there during the lunch hour, beware the long lineup of salad lovers at Freshii - it can get a little crazy. -

Crema produced the best Cappuccino I've ever had, and I've had many in my days of undergrad. I like my coffee rich, full, thicker and creamy. That"s how it's done here.
It's priced a bit more aggressively when compared to anywhere else, but it's worth it. -

Crema is my cafe when I need a boost, or feel like rewarding myself. The latte here is so good, but I can't give it 5 stars because it really is pricy. This decadent creamy delicious latte would be too expensive to enjoy on a daily basis, for 4.25 for a small, but wow is it a treat when you do enjoy it!
I have never tried anything else here besides the latte. Also, for those who haven't been, this is not a typical coffee shop, as it is located inside a Freshii. So not a great coffee shop vibe, but definitely a great coffee.Listed in: Coffee, Please

This place is just fine if you're looking for take out coffee. This place is small as it shares the space with Freshii which takes up most of the space. There are 3 bar stools by the window and a table outside but that's about it so getting a place to sit is gamble.
The barista was friendly and explained what a Cortado is (basically espresso with cream). I was in the mood for trying something different and since I walked from Kensington Market (I like walking) I figured I could go on a calorie consumption splurge. I asked it over ice since I figured it'd help with the richness - it did and I don't think I'd be able to finish the drink otherwise. It was good but I'm used to lattes which are lighter.Listed in: Indie Coffee Passport

I must say I was not too impressed by Crema. Apart from the obvious lack of an actual space for itself, my latte and nutella cookie cost a lot more than I think they should have gone for. And it was a shame I was not blown away by my drink because this is at a good location to grab a quick coffee drink on the go. My initial reaction to it was "hmm that's very similar to what I have at Far Coast at the Varsity cinema". As for my cookie, it was chocolaty, sweet and whilst physically hard not terribly difficult to eat.
I will visit again to experiment with their various menu options and hopefully it will be during a more quiet period as I did go just after the lunch hour on a weekday. Hopefully by then I will have my Indie Coffee passport as well!Listed in: Caffeine Adventures!

Review from Vivek S.
Weird café crammed inside a Freshii. The actual coffeeshop is the size of two phonebooths, so customers wanting to stay must sit in Freshii, which isn't much bigger, but comfortable enough. I actually found an outlet for my laptop, which I wasn't expecting at all.
The friendly Baristo(?) prepped my chai latte with care and joy. Problem was, it wasn't very good. All I could taste was milk. I used my Indie Coffee Passport, so I can't comment on the cost, but it did skew to the pricy side. I've heard others rave about this place, so I'll give them another shot, and get an Americano next time.
Obligatory Title Pun: Not the CREMA the crop.
Menu Readability: Chalky.
Need to mention: They have another location in the Junction and they have a Clover press, for those so inclined.
What this place teaches me about myself: You can't judge a cafe by its chai latte.Listed in: I'll Take Mine To Go, Indie Coffee Passport, Yorkville and You

Same fantastic espresso, skilled baristas and quality equipment, but in a cramped space. They lose a star for ambiance.

I go here every morning on my way to work. I've tried a few drinks and they are all very good. Comparable to Dark Horse, or other coffee shops that put effort into selecting their machines, coffee and staff.
I get their drip coffee every morning. There were a few mornings that they were out of power, or their water wasn't working and instead of closing for the afternoon or just turning people away, they gave out free baked goods or free coffee vouchers. Pretty good for a little coffee shop tucked into the Freshii.
Taking one half-star off for the slowish service when they're busy. The guy who wears glasses and a hat and has a beard is really quick and good at handling the orders, but the others don't seem as concerned with lineups.
The other half-star comes off for their dry-ass muffins. Seriously, I know the Circles and Squares bakery is popular, but their muffins are dry. Would love to see some bagels there in the morning, but considering the small space that migth be wishful thinking. -

After many 2nd and 3rd and 4th chances, I've decided to down grade my Crema rating... not sure what's going on but the coffee here is way too inconsistent. Sometimes it's amazing, sometimes it's so terrible I throw it out after a two sips...
I'm leaving my original review below in hopes that it will one day return to it's former glory but it's been a pretty big disappointment. The only thing I will say in their favour is that their almond and chocolate croissants are pretty delicious.
Old Review:
There's been a lot of reviews about the ambience of this place and yes it is a little coffee stand attached to a freshii, but it's got great coffee and isn't that what really matters?
Actually, it's just great for me because I can pick up a coffee and continue on my way. I probably wouldn't come here to hang out for a first date like some other great coffee shops in funky little neighborhoods around Toronto. But given it's location, if it were a perfect combo of amazing coffee and ambience I'd probably never get a seat...
I'd say overall it's my fav coffee place in the area and maybe even Toronto if we're just talking a really good latte. Would love if it were a bit cheaper but I'd still pick it over the other coffee options in the area.
Haven't been to the one at the junction but maybe that'll have the ambience if I'm looking to have a sit down experience.
Also, I try to go at off-peak hours, otherwise it can be a bit of a wait and since I like a nice, creamy, steamed milk w my latte, I prefer if they're not rushed. Any coffee is still way better than Starbucks though! -

I spent a good year getting a latte here pretty much every day before work. I'd still be going there if I worked close enough. Sadly, I do not.
The coffee is consistent and delicious and the staff are friendly and always remembered my order. The punch card is an added bonus. Free coffee is a great reward, especially when they call you a "winner." HA! -

Great coffee and muffins!
I owe Cream big time -- this place has kept me awake during many loong meetings. -
Review from Erwin M.
Upon entering this store the vibe I go was the exact opposite of Caffe Costadoro. Up until a took a sip, I would have given 5 stars. Barista seemed to really know his thing, the latte art on it is probably the best Iv'e ever seen. It looked simply amazing and I do appreciate that.
Here's the problem with the mocha. It was too milky, not strong and rich espresso, not enough chocolate, and yet it didn't feel like I was drinking a latte or a cappuccino. I'm sure that the stomach problems I had the rest of the day was due to this cup. Upgrading Bisogno because of this. I must have ordered the wrong thing so i'll give this place another chance. For now a 3, just because the art on it was freakin awesome. -

This Crema location is basically a hole-in-the-wall where you get takeout coffee (unless you're getting a coffee to have with your Freshii food, as it's right inside the Freshii location).
I got a soy latte to go, and I savoured it - one of the tastiest, most killer lattes i've had in the city. Strong and bold, without being bitter. Easy to sip, nice and creamy. Pretty much perfect.
This rating's probably more like a 4.5, especially seeing as they're taking part in the coffee disloyalty card AND indie coffee passport. They'd have 5 stars if they were a bit more independant of the Freshii I think!Listed in: Caffeine Nation: The Toronto…

Minus one star for the lack of space.
I love to have my coffee brewed with the Clover Press. It's a real treat for coffee aficionados.
Even though this place might not be the best place to get a coffee, it is the best place in Toronto. -

Expensive, Yes, but delicious. It is a nice change from Starbucks.
the coffee here actually has some depth, and each blend tastes somewhat like the descriptions posted on the chalkboard. (which are very eloquent btw)
For drip coffee (made to order) prices are $2.25 or so to $4.25 or so depending on the blend. For meetings with company cards or coffee dates, its a great choice.Listed in: Yonge & Bloor Reviews.

This is a teeny tiny outpost of Crema Coffee (the address isn't even up on their website yet) paired up with a Freshii. I suppose it's good for when you're on the go since the white and sterile aesthetic of Freshii kind of ruins the sit down experience for me.
Grabbed a cup of in season Tanzania Songea done in the Clover they got. Drank it black, tasty enough but I wanted an espresso more. Wished I had more change in my pockets but oh well. I wouldn't go back just because I prefer to sit back and relax in an environment that doesn't remind me of an archetypical hospital cafeteria.
At least I learned how they were able to afford rent on Yonge and Bloor... -

It was here that I had the most delicious cappuccino of my life. It was about three dollars more than I like to pay for a cup of coffee, yes, but perhaps that explains why the coffee I normally drink tastes so bad.

Crema's Americano is the best I have had in Toronto. The espresso they brew is by far the smoothest and has no trace of a burnt, bitter, or over-roasted flavor. I had been searching for a while in Toronto for an Americano or espresso that resembled what I have had in Milan, and I think this is the closest I have come.
The coffee is pricey, but definitely worth it. I hope they open more locations in the future!
I noticed many have commented on the location suggesting it is suboptimal in terms of ambiance. Though I generally agree, I think it's kind of cool and modern which makes it different.
