Review from Laura P.
Creative Crossing is a well-to-do fusion for the creative community. Art, ideas, and architecture, this Agricola Street address merges the vision of different professions and taps into one powerful force.
The concept here is completely refreshing, and takes the stance on community that we could all use a little more of. The website reads: "Creative Crossing is a boundless environment where diverse tenants cross paths and professions. A painter might find herself seeking an innovative partnership with a potter. A photographer might find his muse within the neighboring theatre troupe or trade products with the emerging multimedia company. A filmmaker lunching in the courtyard with a jeweler might decide to screen her first work as part of a group show in the building's gallery and reception area. This convergence between disciplines, arts and business, inception and reception, is the central synergy of the Creative Crossing concept."
Evolved and pragmatic on a level that exceeds the glory of artistry, I think this collaborative deserves some solid Yelp points. The attitude and life approach to community and growth (both small and large scale) is a blueprint for success. Our nowaday could use a little more of this approach.
++ I recommend checking out their website for a full listing of businesses, ideals, and photographs of its lofty historical property. -
Review from Lacey H.
"Creative Crossing is a contemporary fusion of art, ideas and architecture; a place where inspiration and imagination freely collide to generate new work, new exhibits, new business opportunities, and new relationships" (this excerpt taken from website).
I've heard of events taking place in the common area before, but had yet to head in to check out the place. I ventured in today just to see the space directly off of Local Source. Exposed wood beams, concrete slabbed flooring, complete with simple lighting and tall windows create a modern comfortable space. I didn't realize that the Creative Crossing name encompasses all of the businesses in this building: Statement, Local Source, Urban Fabric, as well as offices for Zuppa Theatre and other notable companies.
This seems like a lovely, well kept building to rent space. I know people who have taught yoga here, as well as other businesses who have their main offices here. If you're dining at Local Source, I'm fairly certain you can bring your food into the airy common area to nosh. Check out the website for more info; it's pretty informative.
