seeing as how this place is RIGHT in the parking lot of the Horseshoe Valley Resort, it's easily accessible for a bite to eat.

Beware, it's no 5 star dining experience but it will do the job.

Walking in with a group of 16 people was a mission on it's own. The restaurant was more than accommodating by joining tables together. Albeit one of our group members had to point out the lack of elbow room, leading to an addition of more tables/chairs.
The size of the restaurant is about the average Jacks dining room section. The tables and chairs are mostly light wood with posters of random events hanging about. It gives a lodge feel and is commonly popular in the winter more so than the summer (as per servers).
The neat design features was the reused ski lift benches as "booths".
This adds to the lodged wood feel of the place.
I suppose the tacky green/puke carpet went well with the red walls and the thick carpenter left over wood frames along the bar, doors etc. Walking in, the bathroom is to your immediate right.
Continue and the bar is to your immediate right. With a long isle of tall light wood bar stools and TV monitors in every which way showing ufc, some odd sports channels.  A massive stone fireplace faces the far left, perhaps this was the "focal point". It's hard when there's so many random objects all over the place. Like a projector screen on the far left of the fireplace. Rolled down, in the day. ???
They might as well have added a few moose heads, guns and horns displays on the wall.
The servers were VERY laid back. Almost too much. There really was no consistency on table numbers etc. Apparently the alarming number of people in the group was the largest they have had in a few months. So much so that I never saw the same server twice.
One would take the drinks, then leave and not come back. Then another would come and take our food order and not mention the drinks.  Strange process.
All in all, it's def group friendly if your not starving. The wait wasn't long either. Thankfully all the food and beverages came in order.
Perhaps the most SHOCKING feature of all is the wings. By far, the best wings I have ever had. This was confirmed by the redundant nods in Delicious agreement chowing, dipping and reaching for more. 2 pounds is NOT ENOUGH!!. If you are a beer/wing fan - you will be very happy here.
    order:
Wings - fantastic fantastic fantastic. The meat was tender and full without any funny tastes. The breading was soft and just perfectly dusted with enough seasoning without overpowering the biting into the chicken. The dip they provided was the common garlic/ranch concoction.

**Make sure to ask for the mesquite dip they give with the sweet potato fries. It's magically mustardy delicious to dip ANYTHING into.

The "special " - sweet Thai chicken pressed in a panini with cheese and grilled bell peppers. Ryan had this and noted it was "o.k". It came with a side and he opted for salad & balsamic dressing since his hips dont lie.

The Mediterranean /feta wrap" - this is a think wrap stuffed with feta, ranch dressing of some sort and olives. The cold factor didn't make this a group favourite. in fact, it was nibbled at and left lonely.

The burger - the burger selection is pretty hearty. The meat is very generous along with the portions of condiments (pickles, onion, lettuce , tomato etc). I asked for some sauteed onions and the staff was pretty good about substituted toppings. My only complaint was the bread. The foccacia style bread was too flaky for the burger. The trick would be to cut the burger in half. Also, not sure if this is a common thing with burgers but the char grease looked like it was used as a ketchup/mayo substituted on one half of the bun. Is this common? Do people like this? This was apparent in all the burgers. Another burger had garlic toast as the bun. EVEN though it sounds good, it ain't. Avoid this epic failure or grease conjunction gone wrong. The sweet potato sides that are optional for an additional $3.00 (pretty hefty) aren't even THAT good. The side sauce of mesquite made me forget all about it.
The poutine - it's a heart attack. Potato wedges with chunks of cheese and smothered in gravy. EEk.

The maple/honey glazed chicken sand which - the portion was massive.  Charlotte had this and had a "not bad" expression about it. The standard side of fries were actually pretty darned good. They were perfectly cooked and just soft enough to tempt you to have more than one.
The beer was a bit pricey here. We had 2 pitchers of Hieni and I couldve sworn it didn't taste like Hieni.
The ceaser (drink) was not bad but definitely not the best.
    The calamari was aw full.
expect to pay around $25 per person for drink, dinner and app. Which isn't as bad if you can ignore the aw full service.

end note: I would definitely come back for the wings.

    xoxo

After a frigid day of skiing, you really only want to get near a fireplace and burrow in.  The Crazy Horse Restaurant is probably the place to do that... cause guess what, they have a fireplace.

First things first... the fireplace.  Why do you have a fireplace that is against a wall in a ski chalet, and then put 2 tables in front of it.  Absolutely useless.  They just made that fireplace useful for about 3 people.  Note, put in a round fireplace that people can sit around and some couches and tables.  I guarantee you will get people hovering around and drinking all day there.

They do have a couple specials on select days, so be sure to check out the website or ask before ordering.  Note that they do have some pretty interesting soups as well daily if you're a soup guy/gal (like me).

We ordered the "Indian" Pizza, sweet potato and curry soup, and "the best ever poutine".  Seriously... best ever poutine?  That's a very very bold statement.  They did have stuff like burgers that looked pretty good and your random wings and bar food too if you wanted something else.

A neat thing about the bar is that they also had their own house brew pale ale.  After trying it I can tell you that it tastes like Canadian... minus the taste of copper pennies.  So... better than Canadian.  Note that this is a Molson bar, so expect to find Canadian, Richards, Heineken, corona etc.

The soup was actually very good.  It's exactly what you need on a cold day, something thick, with a little bit of kick (well I had to put a bunch of pepper in to make it taste the way I wanted it to).

The pizza was not that great.  I don't know how you could have made an "Indian" pizza, but I guess they put some curry powder on some chicken and then put it on top.  It wasn't really that amazing.  I would advise against this.

Now the highlight... the "best ever poutine".  Long story short is that it is quite NOT.  It's not too too bad, but it's definitely not the best ever.  It's pretty much regular fries (crunchy ones) with smoked mozzarella and gravy (lots of it).  It was a little interesting because it was a bit of a change from the norm and I would probably order it again as a nice sharing dish.

All in all, it's probably a great place to hang out after the slopes or to take a break at.  They have TVs to show the game (or E-Talk... OMG why would you show E-Talk during the NFL playoffs... seriously), pool tables to do your thing if you decide to change it up, and a fireplace that comfortably seats 3 to warm your feet.

We stayed at horseshoe valley for 4 days and seeing as there is absolutely nowhere else to eat nearby this was pretty much the only place we ate.
Let's start with breakfast, it was a buffet and a pretty good one at that. It consisted on pretty much anything anybody would ever want for breakfast. Bacon, eggs, sausage, assorted pasteries, breads, bagels (with a variety of cream cheeses), yogurt, granola, pancakes, french toast, the list goes on and on. I had the same waitress for both breakfasts and she was geat, remembered us from the first morning and brought me coffee right away the next morning. This was a godsent, sadly I missed this angel's name.
The dinner's here were pretty good also, the first day we had the crazy kettle chips, they were just so-so nothing special and to be honest they gave me heartburn. Then I had the crispy crunchy salad with candied almonds, cranberries and dried apples with cider vinager dressing. While the dressing was good, it was too sweet for my liking. Last night I had the burger which was very good, the french fries were great and the portions were just enough. Me and my mom shared the lobster flatbreads which were just so-so as well....they lacked some zing and the mushrooms on the flatbreads reminded me of the kind you'd pick off a tree in the woods - slightly offputting.
All the extras were pretty good as well, we had the sticky toffee pudding the first night which was TO DIE FOR! So yum, I highly recommend it! The chocolate fondue we got at my sister's request and it was really not worth the money, the fondue was runny and they didn't give enough fruit to dip in - we ended up asking for more which the waitress wasn't to kind about. The Cesear's I had were effin fabulous, kudos to the bartender, she knew how to make em perfect. Overall it was a tad pricy but a pretty good result overall. Breakfast I'd say was more of a success than dinners but I guess that's the resort way!
