Review from Jennifer P.

Since I was a kid, Mom and Dad would take a trip out to Crawford's a day or two before Thanksgiving or Christmas. The trick was to not go too late and miss the great selection of pies and goodies, but not go to early so that it wouldn't be fresh for the special day. Crawford's is famous for hundreds miles in every direction around Brampton. It's in the tiny village of Norval, which you'd miss if you blinked while driving through. The bakery has every conceivable kind of pie: butterscotch, rhubarb strawberry, apple crumble, chocolate, pumpkin, mincemeat, apple. As kids, we loved to come to choose a pie or chocolates when we accompanied mom and dad. Their chocolates are made fresh on site. They do truffles that melt in your mouth and other mold-made pieces. We always used to buy a loaf of sunflower seed bread to eat on Christmas morning toasted and mom would pick up tarts for parties and open houses over the holiday season. If a pie was needed for a special occasion, it was always Crawford's, without a question. The shop with the old wooden floors is always decorated for the holiday season and full of wonderful-smelling foods, preserves, spices and such.
