This place is too adorable. If you don't leave here with a smile on your face then you have no soul.
All the cow-related puns on their merchandise might be the best part. Like Emma said as a grown-up I wouldn't really think of actually BUYING the stuff but it's so fun to look at.
The shop is big it can accommodate a lot of guests which is nice because in the summer it's busy. Ice cream is good ice cream and you get a nice sized portion for your money. My flavour of choice.... the Don Cherry. Hilarious Canadian name, delicious cherry flavour.
I guarantee that every hot day I ever spend in Banff will involve Cows. Punny things... ice cream... what's not to like?? -

This is a cutesy little tourist shop, and I have fond memories of their store in Whistler. There is a giant fibreglass cow in the doorway that makes for great photo ops.
I don't think I'd ever buy any merchandise here, but it's fun to giggle at the cow-related puns they come up with. Dunder Mooflin Paper Company? Fake NHL shirts with "Moovechkin"? Hilarious! Maybe cute for little kids but not something I feel the need to bring home.
Like everyone else said, the ice cream here isn't the best in the world. It's good, and they give you a lot, but it's not amazing. On a warm day there will be a lineup out the door, though!
I make a point to pop in here and look around whenever I'm in Banff. Might as well pop in to see the cow, if for no other reason! -

This place was definitely interesting. We came in because my sister loves cows for some reason. And my uncle saw the sign for the "best ice cream" (You know how those go...).
It was a cute little shop with random shirts, toys, and knick-knacks. While they were deciding what to order ice cream wise, I roamed around and found funny shirts and cute toys.
For some reason, they had the heater blasting so it was much more comfortable being outside then in.
Didn't try the ice cream, but my uncle said it wasn't anything special, not the "best" he's ever had either.
Entertaining store for a quick look around.Listed in: Dessert

Moooooove over enter Cows in Banff, Alberta. You are greeted by a huge fibreglass cow once you enter the store and to the right are your choices of flannel cow pyjamas and nightees with cow prints and stuffed cow animals to snuggle up with at night.
Behind the cow you will find an ice-cream parlour professing the best ice cream and frozen yogurt in the country which for me didn't live up to par to its name.
And in the back more cow accessories and clothing. I did enjoy taking photos with the fibreglass cow however and this would be the closest that I would come to an udder in my life. -

From the reviews quoted in the front window, I expected superb ice cream, or at least the equal of Ben & Jerry's. What I got was perfectly acceptable ice cream, but nothing worth a detour...or even worth crossing the street.
Lots of cute parody t-shirts, though. -

This place offers what I think is the most important aspect of a desert place, its a laugh! From the funny T-shirts to the giant plastic cow in the lobby, you can't help but chuckle as you move through the store and get your ice cream. Everyone's gotta go at least once!

The staff appears to be indifferent to their customers.... burned out by too many tourists? In any case, the ice cream was decent. Weird ass t-shirts (many could be copyright violations, notwithstanding the "This is a parody." warning).

Exceedingly passable ice cream. Not cheap but super-satisfying. Retail shopping suggests that Cows is just as popular of a clothier as a creamery. I wasn't sold on the t-shirts but I'd go back for a waffle cone in a second.
