I've been here a few times now, and they are now finally finished with the upgrade they've been doing of the lobby and it does look really nice.

The rooms are your standard fare, nothing outstanding, nothing terrible.   The AC is a wall unit and tends to be really loud like all wall unit hotel ACs are.    The service was great in the bar/breakfast areas

My parents and I had to stay in this hotel for a day when the house was being renovated. We were extremely tired. We had to rest.

Turned out the room had a leak. The water was dripping from the ceiling. We asked to be moved to another room. No, we didn't complain or demand. We just kindly asked. The receptionist was so rude to us. First she just told us to stay in the room since it's not a major issue. Second, she claimed that we were making a huge deal out of something that was not even worth an attention. Third, she accused us of causing a huge inconvenience for the hotel while she didn't take into consideration that the water leak problem is an inconvenience to her customer. Fourth, she got angry because she had to go through some procedure to move us to another room. She told us to come down ourselves if we really want another room. Well, the least we expected was for someone to come up to lead us to our new room. We also expected an apology.

When we went down to do some paperwork, her behavior was beyond disgusting. She threw the papers and key on the desk. Then she kept on saying how she doesn't understand why this should be an issue.

Enough was enough. We decided not to stay in the hotel and demanded refund. She refused. The manager finally came out and annulled everything.

The manager led us to the front door, and saw us approaching my dad's car. Then he ran to us to offer a room for half the price. His behavior suddenly changed, and started kissing our @$$es.

He refused to give his money to a hotel that didn't respect its client and care for the client's satisfying stay at the hotel. With the money we saved, we had a nice meal. Then we went back home to have a camp night in the backyard.

Decent hotel.  Usually where we will stay when we visit family in Toronto.  It's convenient located near Highway 7, tons of restaurant around here to eat.

Staff is nice, rooms are always neat and clean.  Plenty of free parking on the lot.

Plus = Free internet connection in room!

Not too happy about my stay here. I will start out by saying the front lobby is newly renovated and has a very modern look to it. Many seats, free computers and wi-fi, fireplace, lots of flat screen TVs, juice bar, snack bar and lots of benches/couches to relax on. I arrived at the hotel around 9:30 and found myself behind a line of people with only 1 person behind the counter. Add to that the fact that one lady had no idea how Canadian money worked and had to be instructed by the clerk it took me 20 minutes to check in, not too fun after driving 8 hours to stand in line for 20 minutes when there was an extra employee and terminal available. They needed my credit card for incidentals which is fine, but what isn't fine is that they charged me 101.75 immediately to the card. They don't even wait to see if there is going to be a need for it, I was not pleased about this since I was on a tight budget to begin with and this was an expense I had not factored. Once I finally got squared away and into the room everything calmed down, for the most part. I took a shower and noticed my footprints were turning black, basically meaning the bathroom floor was real dirty. A shame since the room itself appeared clean. There was a wedding party on our floor and since the room was next to the elevator, every few minutes we had to deal with the drunken laughter of everyone, not the hotels fault really, I just feel like mentioning it here. The next day we spent in the city and upon returning I discovered something that troubled me. My toothbrush was missing. My electric toothbrush that is impossible to misplace, was gone. The only ones to enter the room was housekeeping during the day. I am OCD enough that I keep everything together and the brush was no longer there. Thinking my wife might have misplaced it, we turned the room upside down looking for it. It could not be found anywhere. We went to complain to the front desk and got the answer of "They just returned jewelry, why would they steal a toothbrush"..You tell me skeeter....They offered me another one, but it was insulting that they didn't even bother looking to see who worked my floor that day to even question them at all. We went back to the room and made a call to the local drugstore asking if they carried it and was informed they didn't so I'll just need to pick one up back home. Come to find out later that they charged me 1.75 for that 20 second local call. Feeling a little disgusted my wife went downstairs to order a Chai Tea and they informed her that for anything extra she wanted would be charged an additional 75c. Always something to get money.. So, in summary, come here if you need a bed to sleep in with free wireless internet access. Do not come here looking for clean floors, good attitudes, dependable staff, and a willingness to serve the customer. I'm going to wait till Wednesday and if the 101.75 isn't off my credit card by that point, I am going to dispute it with my credit company, and I'm not going to be staying here again. 1 star for the bed, and 1 star for the wireless.
