Review from R. N.
Yahnik gave me the best haircuts EVER. Went to him for more than 4 years while i lived in Montreal and I would let him do whatever he wanted "just make it look nice". And I never ever had a single complaint, even when I fell asleep in his chair post-final exams once. People are great, atmosphere is hip, and i love the fact that they never try to sell anything to you. I wish there was a coupe bizarre in NYC:( Havent't got a hricut like the ones yahnik gave me in SO long!

I'm a big fan of this place. They do give great cuts, have student rates and it's no fuss.
I've been to most of the nicer places in mtl and must say, it was great to be at a place whose business relies on great cuts, not filler like head massages, etc. -

Coupe Bizzarre is the kind of salon you go to when you want to do something radical. It's also the kind of place you go to when you just want an excellent hair cut, nothing too crazy.
I have been visiting Coupe Bizzare for the past 6 or so years. I keep returning because of several reasons, most important of all my excellent stylist Sarah, who always understands exactly what I want to do, whether I bring in a photo or just make vague hand gestures. The colourists are excellent too, I have had Jason highlight my hair twice now, and I always get comments on how beautiful it turns out. Everyone is willing to work with you to give you exactly what you want, and to make suggestions as necessary.
I also like the friendly atmosphere. The price is right, it isn't the least expensive place out there, but it isn't the most expensive either. Everyone takes their time, and I never feel rushed. While they do accept walk-ins, its best to make an appointment.
If you are worried about going to a trendy salon and feeling out of place, don't. Yes, Coupe Bizzarre is know for their bizarre cuts and colours, but that's not all they are about. Even my 50 year old mother gets her hair cut at Coupe Bizzarre because she doesn't want to go to the typical mall place and get a typical haircut, instead she likes to go to a place that makes her feel special and make her look great. -

Toronto, ON
Way better than the Toronto location where I'm sort of convinced they push the "rad" assymetrical, shag styles 'cause they don't really know how to cut hair. I am so sad to say that I can not remember the name of my stylist but she is the very pretty and very lithe girl with the horn rimmed glasses and super straight hair. I was skeptical at first 'cause she seemed a little absent in conversation and sort of out of it in general and had a really slow and deliberate way of cutting...like really, really slow...like I'm talking I think I fell asleep during the middle of it and when I awoke I looked up to find my face was framed by a totally amazing haircut. It grew out beautifully and I never had to put product in it. I have searched and searched all of Toronto to find someone who could recreate the cut she did but to no avail. Finally, I just gave up and got a perm.

I came here based on the Yelp reviews that I read and I agree with them. It was pretty quiet when I came, I was the only customer, though I made an appointment as was recommended. I had an excellent haircut--the stylist knew what I wanted, and she was a very sweet person and really pleasant to talk to. It's true, it's not luxurious but I had an excellent experience and a totally new style that I love and will try to keep up in the small town where I live. This is the reason to live in the Plateau when you stay in Montreal!
