Don't let the outside fool you!!

When my hubby first bought me here, I was prepared to be disgusted!!

I LOVE this place!! They have a huge selection of food! They have daily board specials like belgian waffles, loco moco, and homemade meatloaf, if you want lunch.

My usual is the hamburger steak and eggs with potatoes. The patty is not dry or overcooked. And they eggs are real, not the fake ones from a carton. I love all the condiments they bring you, like apple butter and super yummy salsa! The toast is good, I think it's baked fresh here.

The staff are always super friendly and cheerful, too. I love this place and usually go at least 2-3 times a month.

My one and only complaint is the coffee...kinda flavorless and watery.

More like 3 1/2 stars.  Always drove by and wanted to try it especially since it's loved by my in laws.  I really wanted to give this place 4 stars but a few notes:  Friendly waittress and very personable.  Food was good.  I ordered the country breakfast which consists of biscuits n gravy along with 2 over easy eggs.  The biscuits are more of the baking powder type, not the buttery type.  I tend to prefer the latter.  Hubby noted that they are known for their cute little biscuits.  Also, apple butter was a nice touch. Is it homemade jam too?    I heard about the salsa but it didn't look appetizing to me the way it was served in a cup.  The gravy was not the white kind with bits of bacon which I expected after living in Texas for a few years.  It was more like Hollandaise sauce.  Eh, it was ok-ay.  The coffee was just ok too, what I expect from a diner.
I wouldn't mind checking out this place during lunch on a work day just to see how their non breakfast food is.  There was an interesting Korean/Hawaiian fusion entree choice too.
Food overrides everything, however, the decor can be distracting if it just needs a quick makeover considering I'm really more low maintenance too.  Maybe, a fresh coat of cheerful paint with a slight Hawaiian theme?  Keep the country kitschy decor which makes the place charming and a great local place for breakfast.

    Pretty good breakfast spot.

Simple, yummy food and they offer a ton of different things from crepes and pancakes to omlettes and Loco Moco! I love that they make their own fresh breads and they serve the jams and salsa in little jars on the table. The salsa is AWESOME, by the way.

My only suggestion: Don't get anything with guacamole on it.

I had one of their omelettes with bacon, mushrooms and yup, guacamole. Now, you'd think with good salsa they'd have good guac too but alas, this is not true. While it seems like mostly everything on the menu is homemade, the guacamole is for sure not. Doesn't even taste like avocado to be honest...

I loved the nice big chunks of bacon though. They were HUGE compared to most places that dice it into tiny bits. But this bacon was still chewy and delicious.

I've learned my lesson though, and I will be back for more!

    ...Not more guacamole though.

All I can say is YUCK!.  I ordered the omelet with mushrooms, onions and bell peppers with cheese.  What I got were 'steamed' mushrooms which really were from a can, but the onions and bell peppers appeared fresh.  The cheese that was in the omelet was from a bag, the cheap shredded cheese.  I was so hungry that I had to scrap off the mushrooms and bell peppers.

Good, fast, friendly service here. Good hangover breakfast! Their country gravy isn't country gravy though, it's Hollandaise sauce... which was odd but it tasted just fine :) This place would be even better with bloody mary's. Just sayin'.

OH! and bonus!! Their salsa is SO good, fresh and REALLY hot. :))

This place is in the middle of nowhere.  Parking is limited and you can go in the back near what looks to be some type of apartment complex.  The signs are kind of funny, I recall some Uncle's rain/wind detector.  The food was just okay and nothing really stood out for me to come back.

We first came here about 12 years ago and I didn't feel "welcome' so we never went back even though the food was decent.
We went in this morning for breakfast and the staff had changed. Everyone was nice and courteous. I had steak and eggs with potatoes. It was good, not the best but good. My wife had the chicken fried steak, she also enjoyed it. The service was excellent and the atmosphere was nice.
We'll go back again and try other things on the menu.
It's always nice to go into an establishment and feel welcome.

This is my go-to spot for BREAKFAST every weekend !   It is not upscale or anything fancy.  It is what its called "country touch."  But it is by far the best breakfast in town !

Now, if you like biscuits and sausages go for the SOUTHERN STYLE BREAKFAST and  you wont regret it !!  The other thing I love here is the Oriental omelette (korean beef, salsa and veggie) very tasty.  Its worth your $6-10 per entree !  This place sh*ts on DENNY'S all day.  If its not too busy your food is ready in about 5-10 mins.

The bathrooms need a total re-model.  When you open the door the toilet is literally one foot away from you.

Despite the horrible reviews, you gotta try it out because its easy on the wallet.

This place has been here forever.  I remember driving by it on my way to visit my uncle back in the early 70's, and wishing I could try their homemade pies.
Located across the street from the entrance of the Mobil refinery, some coworkers jokingly call it "Chermobil."
This is one of my coworker's favs: close by, fast, and down home comfort food like Salisbury Steak, or meatloaf lunch specials.  Servings and always generous, and the food is reliably decent.
I've still never had the homemade pie.
Very homey inside. Some parking in back and a few spots in front.

I give this place a 1.5 star review.

I went here with my dad and my best friend for some breakfast while we waited for car repairs. We were driving on 190th toward Redondo when I saw this place and it caught my eye. Looked like a cozy "small-town" diner and that's what we were in the mood for. Honestly it didn't seem that bad, the booths could be replaced, but really it's the service that was terrible!

My friend and I ordered the french toast supreme. You get the option of boysenberries, strawberries, or blueberries. I chose strawberry and my friend got boysenberry. My friend asked if she could get both boysenberry AND strawberry and our waitress looked very offended and said no! I didn't understand. It really seems like a simple request, right? I didn't think there was any need to be rude to us.

The food came and it wasn't bad, it wasn't the best food but it was decent. I didn't like how they gave a huge amount of MARGARINE on top of the french toast, seriously it just seemed nasty.

It took 3 people to get me a to-go box and cup. It's like they ignored me half the time.

Later at the Redondo Beach pier we saw a diner that had cheaper prices with an ocean view! Which brings me to my next point, the prices are a little high. Most items are just a little under $10. Seems pretty pricey to me.

Went to the Country Touch to check it out for out of town visitors.  The place is not what it used to be many years ago.  What happened to the country curtains and other homey touches?  And the  great tasting food? They can't make a decent country gravy, plain off-white sauce with no sausage pieces and no taste. Yuk!  Biscuits were tiny and dry.  Country fried steak was not deep fried and not seasoned.  Hash browns were mostly "hash-whites" with no flavor.  Scrambled eggs and diced ham...ham very salty.  Will not return.  EVER!

Wanna drool? Try the country fried steak~ apple butter on their biscuits~ and their home made salsa on anything even on a shoe!

This place is a little hole in the wall place with a touch of little house on the prairie sprinkled on top. That being said, the food speaks for itself. Their breakfasts are just straight down home cooking without the greasiness that Denny's can get. The country fried steak is soooo delicious with their gravy. It's seasoned so well and fried perfectly. But what takes the cake are their table condiments. The apple butter and salsa totally needs to be bottled and sold because it's like sweet nectar to the gods. Service and price were great!

A few years back when Torrance was having the section of 190th. St. "re-habed" from Prairie to Crenshaw we dominated this place.
We dubbed it IBEW hall west, with my friend Jeff Beard (aka "Big Foot")
    dined here most every day.
Everytime we entered Yuki was as excited as a school girl at Christmas time!
Time marches on, jobs finished and the contractor has move on.
Here we are back in the present and my soul-mate and I are so not wanting to fix breakfast this beautiful Sunday morning ventured out in need of sustenance.
Thinking of the usual around this place came to mind and off we went.
We weren't disappointed, after a giant hug from Yuki (maybe a little older) we proceeded  to our seats and ordered.
Against my better judgement I ordered the special "Moco Loco", a 1/2 # beef Angus patty cooked your way with rice, beef gravy and two OE eggs on top and sourdough toast and my bride scrambled eggs with a side of biscuits with country gravy with hash browns and toast.
    We cleaned our plates! Deliciousness!!
This place is small and simple like something you would find in rural Texas.
    Damn right five stars!

This was the spot that my boyfriend's family swore by for breakfast. Every weekend for over ten-fifteen years, he and his father and other members of the family would join up for breakfast at this place. They haven't been in this establishment for about a year now? I wonder why?

Greasy food that seems to go right you. We weren't in the car for ten minutes when a bathroom urgency called. The place just seems dirty. The booths need to be reupholstered. One day, my magazine fell into the booth. When we lifted the booth seat to retrieve it, the space between it was full of dust and crumbs that have been collecting for a long time.

But the end all is the way the owner treats her loyal customers. As a result of her penny pinching, she has now lost business that was loyal to her. I mean he would arrive there to eat breakfast 2-3 times a week for years. He asked if he could take his coffee in a to-go cup and she charges him twice for coffee?

One star for the nice waitresses, and another star for the owner's daughter who is so kind and attentive. But, I don't think we will ever be eating there again.

well, I read all of the reviews and chuckled before I went but then once I was there I really laughed because of their accuracy.
I ordered the biscuits and gravy and was quite disappointed as it was a hollandaise sauce not proper gravy.  The food was decent but nothing great.  I don't know if we will go back.
The service was very good and they did keep my husband's coffee cup refilled.
They seem to have some loyal customers that the staff greeted warmly.

I just ordered biscuits and gravy...its all I care about..reading other reviews I was instantly regretting ordering them. When they came they weren't great but they weren't bad either. Its not a sausage gravy which I belive is what disapoints people. I have had far worse from places like "pollys on the pier" in Redondo. The eggs only come out of the kitchen scrambled or fried. Our request for over medium was completely ignored, but it takes work to mess up an egg, so they get a pass on that indiscretion :) One thing I noticed was a primarily older clientele which usually indicates bland food to come, I was salt & peppering absoluly everything (something I rarely do).. The food came out really fast and we left satisfied for 17 bucks not including tip. I would come here over any breakfast chain, such as Dennys and the like, but I'm not planning my next visit as of yet.

The Crotch, as my dad would call it, (sorry Country Touch for the bad nickname)

Have dined here many a times as my dad used to live 3 blocks behind it and it was located next to his favorite liquor store.

So when dad stopped by this neck of the woods it was only fitting that we went for bfast at the Crotch.

This place is your typical hole in the wall bfast joint with yummy homey style bfast. Dad and I always get their chili cheese omelet with extra onions and crispy hash browns. I LOVE their house made salsa they serve here. So fresh and chunky and spicy! I also enjoy their b&g and order them everytime.

Food is good, service is fast, booths are dented to the max with years of business and they always keep your coffee full.

Okay, so I got strong armed into going to this place over the weekend!  :D  My dining companion was insistent  that we eat here because of some great omelet that she just loooooves! hehe

First of all, let's discuss the decor.  The place is kind of run down.  I sunk into the booth seat and was very uncomfortable during my meal.  The place had kitschy country decor on the walls which I guess went with the name of the place but I thought they could use a major remodel.

I had eaten here before but it's been a really long time and now I remember why I haven't been back in a while.  The food.

For my order, I had the breakfast special called an "oriental omelet".  I know, not very PC!  It might have been "racist" but since since the owners happen to be Asian, I guess they get a pass.  (whew, avoided Yelp outrage and boicot)

Let's just call it the "O" omelet.

Well, I was expecting a slightly bigger "O" omelet since it was $8.95 but it wasn't.  It was kind of skinny although I do admit they loaded up on the toppings but kind of skimped on the teriyaki beef filling.

It came with a few potatoes that seemed to be a cross between breakfast potatoes and hash browns because they seemed to have been smashed flat and spread out on the plate to make it seem like a bigger portion.  http://www.yelp.com/bi...

I opted for the home made biscuits http://www.yelp.com/bi... as my bread choice.  The biscuits were small and weren't all that fluffy and a tad moist. I saw another table order two large muffins which is definitely the way to go.

I also wasn't very appreciative of this being in my line of sight while eating http://www.yelp.com/bi....  Was this an attempt at humor?  Weird...

Anyways, I probably wouldn't go out of my way to come back here again in the future.  If you do go, perhaps Sophia would want to go with you since she is a huge fan of this place.  : )

This place tries to be a down home, country diner and doesn't quite pull it off, but it does have a sassy, Asian-American waitress, constantly arriving fresh coffee, and a tasty breakfast selection.  So you win, Country Touch

You'll see crusty old regulars and wide-eyed newbies.  If you're in Torrance and you want a weekday breakfast, stop in.  It's not necessarily worth a long wait in line, but it's definitely nice to sit a spell and catch up with a friend or look at the paper or whatever it is you choose to do at 10:37 in the morning on a weekday when you should be working.

The best part?  Apple butter on their freshmade bread.  Hells yes.

This place is decorated with western memorabilia, indicating a "Country" feel.  Funny how the owners, a Japanese husband and Korean wife run this place...I thought it was amusing, and full of character.  Something seriously missing in SoCal eateries these days.

For those of you looking for a hole in the wall breakfast spot in Torrance, this will definitely do the job.

    1. The coffee keeps flowing
    2. Friendly wait staff that know the regulars by name
    3. Counter service (does this still exist?)
    4. Healthy portions of eggs, meat, cheese, homemade muffins, sweet rolls and anything else you would like to eat.
    5. Reasonable prices

There is limited parking in the front, which is shared with the liquor store next door.  However, just drive in the back, where there is ample parking, and just walk through the back of the restaurant...just like you belong!

I would recommend the Country Touch Omelette...with a side order of their sweet rolls, which are like fruit filled cinnamon rolls.

3.5 stars for Country Touch, rounding up, they get 4.  I'll be back for sure.

The name is so flowery in image to me that I wasn't going go try this place alone unless female friend invites me to go together. No invitation comes. Years go by...
So I take myself there, no biggie, I can wipe the tears away quickly as I eat and no one will notice.

From reading some of the reviews I got the impression that this is similar to the Redondo Diner, but I was wrong.

The Chili Omelet was a nice average size with lots of hashed potatoes on the side. Came with a choice of bread or 2 homemade blueberry muffins; I take the muffins and they were not bad albeit ordinary in taste and size (came piping hot, had to use napkin to grab it).
The potato was good. The Chili Omelet was good with mild chili sauce. The cheese inside the Omelet tasted sweet for some reason (or it could've been some other ingredient like flavored butter, I don't know).

The interior was huge compared to what I was envisioning (this is a full blown diner). But the interior does look plain despite the decorations on the walls. The upper wall sections especially, it really stands out and reminds me that this is really just a large square room (depressing). I'd like to see lots of plants or decorations hanging from the ceiling (I love stuff hanging from ceiling).

Friendly and fast service. Parking was a snap on the back side. Overall a nice experience.

If you want a home cooked breakfast. YUM! I saw reviews on Yelp and I HAD to come. We had a slow morning the day we went and didn't end up getting to Country Touch until around 1:45PM that day. What we didn't know since we were first timers was the restaurant actually closes at 2PM. Me and my bf felt really bad, we were THOSE people that came in right before closing when everyone is excited it's almost time to go home.

We were welcomed with open arms and they were SO nice! My boyfriend had pancakes, eggs, and bacon while I opted for the Spanish Omelette. Right after we ordered, they went to switch the sign to "Closed" and we felt super duper bad. We were contemplating whether to ask if we should take it to go or not, but we decided to just eat there. The food came out and oh my JEEBUS YUM!!!! My omelette was melty cheesy mushroomy goodness. My bf inhaled his food because he eats fast anyways, and he helped me finish mine. He ended up liking  mine better! My omelette came with potatoes and toast. The potatoes were just enough crisp and the toast was DELICIOUS with the apple butter. It was like they just took the filling of an apple pie with cinnamony goodness!

The BF and I ended up finishing our meal within 20 minutes, and the lady said "you guys didn't have to eat so fast! We don't mind!" They were so nice we left an extra large tip for them just because of their courtesy :)

We will definitely be back, but next time I want to try their corn beef hash!!

A definite "hole in the wall" located next to a liquor store along busy 190th St. You'd probably zoom straight by the place if you hadn't been there before. Locals flock to this place for early and late breakfast. -Which is usually the case for my husband and I on lazy weekends!

The cafe has a nice homey feel to it and yes, the decor is a little dated, but it doesn't seem to bother anyone except the young and the newbies to this place. My husband has been eating here since his young basketball days and the owner always remembers his order! The staff are great and the service is pretty fast. Our favorites on the menu are their blueberry muffins, chicken fried steak with gravy ( husband's fav), sausage and egg breakfasts (reminds me of home, the U.K) and Louisiana sausage breakfast. You can't beat this place for some home-style food.

Yes, it's not all southern style food and yes, there does seem to be more Asians eating at this place, but that's because of the slight Hawaiian twist to the food! We love it, it's comfort food for us!

There is no better cafe in the southbay.  Every time I wake up early the first thing that pops into my head is .... Country Touch?

I decided to update my review because every time I've returned it gets better and sadly yelp doesn't have any more stars to give. Everytime I go I always get the biscuts and gravey and everything is outstanding.  Sometimes I get a side of eggs and even the eggs are the best in town.  They also have amazing salsa that is good on ANYTHING.

My coffee mug was never empty.

I so wanted to like this place.  I've driven by several times and the run down porch feel made me want to stop.

I read the Yelp reviews and they were all positive.

Our experience wasn't nearly as nice.

I figured that I would try the biscuits and gravy, a staple of any country kitchen.  Granted, I only lived in Tennessee for a few years, but my family lives there and I know good biscuits and gravy.  The biscuits were FLUFFY. They were closer to bread rolls than biscuits.  The gravy was YELLOW and had no flavor.  It was closer to hollandaise than gravy.  Gravy is supposed to be whiter and have bits of sausage and pepper in them.

The omelette that I ordered had bacon, sauteed onions, mushrooms and had some guacamole on top.  It wasn't bad, a little overcooked, but that doesn't bother me much.  All the onions were in one spot.  There was MAYBE one slice of bacon in there.  I added a bit of the house salsa, which was decent.  The potatoes were nicely browned, but not dried out.  I was happy with them.

The iced tea had good flavor, but there must be an ice shortage in the restaurant.  My boyfriend ordered a coffee.  He said it was quite good.  He then asked for a glass of water.  She had brought a glass of water for me, when she brought my iced tea.  She said, "There is one right there." and pointed at my water glass.  I couldn't believe she even said that.  My boyfriend just looked at her and said, "ok."  He ended up drinking my glass of water.  (Totally not a big deal, but she should have brought him a glass of water, right?)

There were many Asian customers in the restaurant.  I was looking to see what they were ordering, all normal things, despite a special called "Asian rice breakfast."

I doubt that I'll give this place a second chance.  Darn.  I wanted some good southern cooking and I didn't find it here.

I really don't want to say anything mean because honestly, my experience wasn't that bad.

Sorry, Eimi, but the gravy tasted like it was made from instant gravy powder, and the biscuits were a bit tough.
I had the breakfast standard of pancakes, bacon, and eggs.  They were just OK.
Service was fine.   Nothing more, nothing less.

I met up with the always-wonderful Mike at this place because, like most people, always passed by the very noticeable sign and wanted to take a peek in.

An extraordinary breakfast is hard to come by, and this place wasn't it.

Very yummy!! And a guy, who seems to be a regular, sat outside with his huge malamute/german shepherd mix dog. And his dog sat there very patiently and eager for bits of food he'd get tossed. The dog wasn't even on a leash and he just sat there as people passed by and the very busy 190th street a few feet away.

So that was the first thing we saw, and then came the ultra friendly daughter of the owner who was our server. She always smiled at you when she talked to you and is so cheerful.

Then came the food...oh man!! One great thing about it being owned by Asians is that rice is an option, instead of potatoes. And well...being Asian...can't say no to rice!! So I ordered the one egg (scrambled of course) and two sausage links with the potatoes and biscuits and gravy. The hubby ordered the chicken fried steak with rice and biscuits and gravy. When I first saw the gravy I immediately thought "oh gross...its yellow and isn't REAL gravy". Boy was I wrong. OMG...that was some good gravy!! So to sum it up, the chicken fried steak was very flavorful and juicy and the potatoes were perfect. I know there isn't much you can do with country potatoes, but it went perfectly with the gravy. And with reasonable prices, it'll definitely be a regular visit.

Not worth 3.5 stars. At all. maybe 2.  I came to visit my mom from AZ and I looked this place up... disappointed completely.  I saw an old article posted on the wall from the Hungry Detective that describes this place as pretty good.  Did I mention the article was old?

Pretty good chicken fried steak but the gravy leaves a lot to be desired...definitely go with the apple butter on your biscuits or even ask for your biscuits with gravy...never busy and there's usually a parking space right in front

This place stinks, we went this morning for breakfast my review follows and why I gave it 1 diamond.

First of all I asked is the waffle Belgian or reg.? We don't have any waffles.
My husband asks is which is better your home fries or hash browns, we don't have any hash browns.
I ordered french toast when she brought it I noticed the yellow stuff was cheap margarine, do you have any butter I ask. NO!! They were the worst french toast I have ever ordered. Never again! Complete waste of money.

One of my favorite places to go for br/unch!

I'm a very laid back, down-to-earth type of person so I tend to enjoy this easy going kind of atmosphere.
I usually get their Corned Beef Hash and Eggs(scrambled), Raisin Bran Toast w/ Apple Butter.. and coffee.

You can tell its a family owned restaurant. Very "home-y" feeling.
Servers are very friendly, pleasant to be around.

Don't expect Mr and Mrs Fancy Pants to be there, not that kind of place.
I recommend EVERYONE try this place even once.

This is a cute little breakfast place that my sister used to take me to when I was little.  I go here once in a while for breakfast if I'm too lazy to go to my fav breakfast places.

They have good omelettes here.  The pancakes and french toast are ok.  I like their blueberry muffins, which comes with most meals as the toast option.

this joint is pretty solid.  very homey.  pretty run-down inside.  but, friendly servers, super quick food, and easy on the wallet.  if you're in the south bay, a good i-hop substitute.

i give their 'oriental' omelet a 4-star.  comes w/ korean bulgogi, salsa, and veggies.  tastes very homemade and isn't drenched with salt and grease.

don't expect anything fancy, but well worth your dime and time.

This is a Korean-owned "piece of Americana" diner. The "country touches" consist of wooden knick knacks on the wall that comes from a $20 spending spree at the local thrift store. The French Toast was inedible, a soggy, unholy mess. Avoid.
