Yep, still haven't tried anything else on the menu, but it's hard to fork over more money when you get a hot dog and drink that gets the job done for less than the cost of a bus pass.

HOWEVER, I will never get the beef hot dog again. I don't know what it is, but I pretty much feel awful after eating one of those. It just sits in my stomach for the rest of the day -- not a pleasant feeling.

So I've been having the Polish hot dog, and it's perfectly fine.

I MAYBE go once a week, or once every two weeks. Don't judge.

    Ohhhhh Costco...

You have lost more than 1 precious star. Why?
Because when a customer (me) has to come back two days after purchasing some fancy glass food storage thingy that has glass shards in it I had to pay another $2 for parking, return it, walk back through the store and wait in the long-ass line-ups to re-buy the same glass food storage thingy.
    That's why!

This makes me question my Costco loyalty.
How much time and parking money did I spend to get these damn food storage things?
Why isn't there an express line? A strict (like revoke your pass kinda strict) 5 items or less line. And why the return and then must go through store again and wait deal with their defective products?

Is the $7 old Balderson Cheddar really worth the hassle?
Can I write more lines with a ? in it ?

Argh. I'll see you next week Costco. I'm out of Corn Starch.
    Sheeple hypocrisy. Ugh.

Oh... And why the hell don't you have you isles marked with what's in them like every other grocery store on earth? Super annoying!

i LOVE costco, with their samples, it's like shopping and a meal!

everything is in bulk prices, which totally helps. they have everything from small electronics, to furniture, to clothes, to prepared dinners, to frozen foods. You can basically find everything you need for your home here (and your storage as well).  I love buying frozen chicken in a box here, along with frozen veggies, eggs, sheperd's pie, and lasagne.

it's especially awesome if you are trying to have a house party!

I'm pretty sure "Kirkland" is the mark of the Beast, as prophesied by John the Revelator, with the issuance of coupons for 1 kilogram bags of Cheetos and flats of Tommy Hilfiger socks preceding the sound of the first angel's trumpet, if I'm reading Scripture correctly. The last time I was there I saw a man on a white cart with a bow, which I didn't think much of (it was Christmas) until I noticed he was followed by a man on a red cart, carrying buckets of mayonnaise and a great box-cutter. I would have dropped my Cheetos and ran to the nearest Apple Store (don't judge, it's a very popular faith),  to pray for deliverance and so on...but you know, deals.
Anyway, if you can get in there before their Seventh Sale is over, they've got the lowest price on the biggest frozen shrimp ring I've ever seen. Feeds 144 undiscriminating party-goers.

A few days ago it was the first time ever stepping in to a Costco after finally dishing out $50 for a membership.  I was told by friends how many great quality products they have in this store and they are absolutely right!  They carry a lot of highly processed junk food, soda and non organic items in bulk for a cheap price...They have many unhealthy sample stations at every section of Costco, and aisle full of baked goods like sugary chocolate croissants and "healthy" low fat donuts in 12 pieces, unhealthy foods in disguise.  (Brookside brand)  Huge refrigerators one after another carry frozen foods.  High quality!  This is most of what Costco offers!

On the other hand they have things I really like. I found edamame, Clif bars, avocado, cereal, eggs, greek yogurt, some organic vegetables and fruits, Sonicare replacement heads all in bulk.  The book aisle is definitely worth checking out and the electronic aisle carries high end brands for a reasonable price.

The employees all seem enthusiastic and happy to be working here and customer service is always top notch.  The guy who sold me the membership definitely did a good job convincing me to do so.   The queue is always long during weekends but the employees are very efficient and even put all your items in a box for easy loading/unloading.

Many people like the food stand right outside of Costco.   They've got hot dogs, fries with gravy/poutine, chicken strips, and pizza.  Definitely amazing value for the large portion you get compared to other places.  However I would not say the food is to die for like the vast majority of Costco shoppers.

The pets section has room for improvement.  I wish this Costco offered more dog food/treats options other than the canned Pedigree brand...maybe i'll try another location.   Anyway can't complain much because everything is sooo cheap.

Yaletown Costco is bright, clean, well laid out and a lot of fun.

You never know what new amusing offerings they have on their huge shelves. From 16 camera security systems to 3 person infa red saunas to that wine cellar you've always wanted.

You can buy enormous packages of grade A meats, poultry and fish, salads, onions, veggies, eggs, Ethical Bean coffee. You can walk out of here with a months supply of raw ingredients for some really amazing home cooked meals... as well as a months supply of vitamins and supplements to make you more vibrant.

You could also use a sherpa to help you lug the bounty home! This stuff they sell is HUGE.

If you hit it right, you can also have a snack on almost every isle.

The staff are agreeable, usually have a smile for you and make the lines flow with ease.

Hit Costco in the afternoon on a weekday and you can have the place to yourself. Come early in the afternoon on a Sunday, it gets busier later in the afternoon.

This review is for 01/02/2012.  I am so not done with Vancouver. My friend and I were getting hungry after traveling all over Vancouver. I don't even remember how we got to this point, but I did want to tryout an old favorite, a Canadian Costco.

Just like many the US Version Costco, the Canadian Costco is just similar. The only difference about this Costco is that its located right across Rogers Arena, Home of the Canucks. I don't know where the parking structure is since it seemed like this Costco has no parking. I am sure its somewhere since a lot of people were taking the elevator to another floor.

The first thing my friend and I did was grab some grub. The one thing that I noticed right off the bat that was missing was Chicken Bake. I believe their replacement for the Chicken Bake was Chicken Strips and French Fries. As for their salad, Vancouver Costco did not have Chicken Caesar Salad, but they had Walnut Chicken Salad ($5.99). They had the one favorite, Hot Dog and Drink for $1.99. I believe its $1.50 here in the United States. Don't forget the 12% Sales Tax...lol. I got the Salad and my friend got the Chicken Strips and Fries. I didn't try out the Poutine. I should have tried it since it looks interesting and is a Canadian favorite.

The line for the Food Court was long especially when the Vancouver Canucks are playing the San Jose Sharks just minutes away. There were a lot of Canucks Jerseys in line and I had to wear my LA Hat. Well, the Los Angeles Kings did beat the Canucks a few days ago...lol. There are very few tables. I'd say about 15-20 tables. At most U.S. locations, there are 30-40 tables. We sat outside just under the bridge.

After we ate, we decided to go inside and check out the Costco. Once I walked in, it felt like I never left the United States. Aisles of unnecessary items and tons of freebies. Well, my friend, AGAIN, was hungry and got a bunch of the samples. Geez...man...stop eating.

In the end, this Costco is like many other Costco locations. The food court selections were different and I would give a 3.4 Star Rating for giving me something different. I know in Korea there is a Clam Chowder in their menu. I wonder what other items at other Costco locations that I am not familiar with are normal in that area?

Yelp is My Review, My Story, and My Life. Its time to share it.

I like shopping at Costco. You can find goods at a great price and if you have a family to feed, this is a great place to shop at. Now if you are single, you probably won't want to shop here unless you are shopping to stock up your emergency stash in case of a big catastrophe. (Which isn't a bad idea).

Books and magazines are cheaper here. They don't have a big selection but I always like to look here before I purchase elsewhere.

As for the produce, buyers be aware. The stuff here goes bad quickly once you get it home so try to eat it up quickly.
I try not to buy too much produce here unless I know it will get used up within few days of purchasing. Dry goods are better bet because they don't get spoiled as fast.

One major thing that sucks about this particular location is that you have to pay for parking. I wish they did what Save On on Cambie does. Reimburse the money if you shop there.
One time, my hubby decided not to pay $2.00 and he got a parking ticket. Boo Hoo! Always better to pay the parking than having to pay forty something dollar ticket.

Hi, my name is Amanda and I am an addicted to hoarding groceries!

After a trip to here with a friend I think Costco will become the biggest enabler of my addiction.

Everything looks more appealing to me in bulk and I had to force myself to put back about 50% of the items in my cart since bulk goods won't pay my rent.

Samples all over, large packages of food for smaller prices, me and my friends running up and down the aisles throwing items into the cart like mad men, a karaoke machine you can actually sing on like a ridiculous fool, how can you go wrong? You can't!

There is a $2 parking fee but I could care less, it's downtown, I don't expect to park for free!

I love Costco. I love that they give out samples all the time. I love that they have great deals once a year on contacts. I love that their food is super cheap and so delicious (chicken fingers and fries!).

But Costco has some downsides. Their groceries aren't exactly cheap. I mean, sometime they're a good deal, but if you do the math they're not always a steal. Sometimes they're a lot more expensive than say, Superstore or IGA, so you really have to look at what you're buying. The line ups at the registers bother me too, sometimes they're crazy long and winding down sideways while other registers stay closed, sometimes they're 100% empty with people milling about doing nothing. I don't think it's their fault (who can predict traffic flow 100%?) so I guess this shouldn't be a negative on them.

And the last irk is that there is no cellphone reception as you go further in. Costco is BIG people. If I lose my husband in there, it takes a hella long time to find him. And when I finally do, and we pay and leave, his phone starts pinging like mad with all my "where are you?!" messages. Sigh.

This restaurant has nothing to do with the store itself, but the restaurant (if you can call it that) in front.

There's nothing like stuffing one's face with Costco pizza,  $14 for a 18" Large?  You can't go wrong.  A favourite pastime of my friends and I is to grab a couple of these and some beers, then hang out at my buddy's condo directly above.

The fries here are simply amazing.  Crispy on the outside, soft on the inside.  Deadly all over.

Other honourable mentions include their jumbo hot dog and Montreal smoked meat sandwich.

One last note:  Just like the store inside, this place is CASH ONLY.  Don't say I didn't warn ya.

Costco is fantastic.  Awesome prices, great quality, and some unique items that you wouldn't think they have.

Best purchases from Costco that came as a surprise:

    1. Stock pot.  At any other store, it would have been in the hundreds.  We got it for $50 and the quality was amazing.

    2. Box of cards.  Enough for birthdays, thank yous, and everything in between.  They are beautiful cards (think Papyrus from Chapters) and the quality far exceeds what we paid for them.

    3. Batteries.  A giant pack of Duracells for way less than you would pay at any other store.

    4. Gift cards.  Spas, restaurants, and a whole slew of others.  You usually get $100 of value with only $75.

    5. Berries.  I am a fruit fanatic and you will be hard pressed to find berries at better prices and better quality than at Costco.  This is especially true if you live downtown.

    Costco before the game! FTW!!

Forget about the stadium dogs or japadogs, Costco dogs & a drink for $1.99.  Fingers and fries for 5.99.

Typical fast food, fried stuff, burgers, dogs, kind of joint.  It's all covered but, yet they have huge beach umbrella on some tables.

It's cheap and the food here is pretty good for fast food.

    They only take cash.

Why does everyone think writing a review about Costco is questionable?

    Costco is the shit!

I'm here every weekend buying the following:
    - Liberty 0% greek yogurt (2x500 mL = $7.99)
    - Raw California walnuts (13 cups = $13.99)
    - Fruit (tomatoes, canteloupes, pineapples, etc)
    - Oceans solid chunk tuna (6 tins = $9.99)
    - Oceans wild pink salmon (6 tins = $7.99)

Great place to get healthy food and much much cheaper than any of the major grocery chains available in Vancouver.

Now if Costco Canada could only start carrying Fage 0% greek yogurt, life would be perfect.

If you wear glasses I highly recommend the optical department here.  The exam is less than most places - $70 and even though the hubby had an appointment I was able to get in quickly without one.  While he was getting the eye test done I got our groceries done.

A few years ago I paid $500 for my progressive lenses ('cause I ain't ready for old lady bi-focals and likely won't ever be) at another place.  At Costco the newer better version today were $300.  I got Missoni frames with the best lenses for $450 all in.  Sweet ass deal!  The hubby got two pairs for $444 as he doesn't need the expensive lenses like me.

The selection might not be huge but it's varied enough that I found a few pairs I like.  I'm going back for some sunglasses next.

I heart Costco. I always spend way too much money at Costco. I always spend way too much time in Costco. Oh Costco.

Costco has some great products, and a wide array of everyday needs. They have a deli (with some pretty fab meat, fruit, veg platters), bakery, optometry, a pharmacy, and most importantly....a costco restaurant. Seriously who can go wrong with a $1.99 hotdog and pop? (Besides my thighs, hush you).

Downside: Not the greatest place to shop if you are a singleton or a couple. Everything is in bulk (ie:// 4 tubes of toothpaste, 5 deodorants in a package), but my partner and I still manage to pick up our share of essentials nonetheless!

Oh! And this locations is seriously lacking in free samples. Best.part.of.Costco.ever. (or maybe tied with the hotdogs?)

on the first trip i made it up in savings and then some. bought the sweet aerodynamic bright blue portable bbq fpr $50 off (why does one need an aerodynamic bbq you ask? because). almonds, olive oil, laundry detergent, cat food and sparkling water are my basics every time along with some greek yoghurt at prices you cannot beat.

best thing though is for some reason this downtown location is never busy. i've never waited longer than about 5 min in line!!! sweet!!

just stay away from the chip and cheese aisles. that volume of deep fried and dairy products should not be legal.

Hurrah for the big box store... I know, I know, I'm a terrible person for loving this place. If loving Costco is wrong, then I don't want to be right.

Every employee D and I have ever interacted with has been awesome: like the cell phone guy (D got a phone through him), the photo lab guy (He was so nice taking my passport photo), the contact lens fitter (he warmed up after I cracked some jokes)...

We can wander this place for hours (well, actually just two because you have to pay for parking at this location... paying for parking is awful, but at least I am dry). D and I grab a cart and walk up and down every aisle. There are so many things here I need that I never knew I needed: sacks of naan bread (perfect for making pizzas. I keep them in the freezer and defrost as needed), vanilla pods (I am trying to make my own vanilla from the pods and vodka), litres of sour cream (do I really need that much sour cream?), and kilos and kilos of meat (the prices are okay... better than regular prices at other stores). I bought a pie from them for Thanksgiving... it was huge... could barely fit it through my non-Costco sized door... I kid, but it was huge.

They have a store credit card. I'm not stupid. I know that if I get that card, I will have to owe them my firstborn because I LOVE THIS PLACE and NEED EVERYTHING IN IT! I have yet to buy it, but they have individual creme brulees in their own glass containers. I want 'em so bad. Every trip to this place is at least a $100 trip for D. I show a little more restraint, I spend less, but I come more often.

I love Costco. No matter the location. I love it. I love that this location is now 2 blocks from my apartment and so I no longer have to ride the community shuttle with a bbq chicken in my purse, creepily tantilizing everyone's extreme hunger at 6pm.

I find that this location has some different items and not as big of a selection of DVD's or CD's. That being said, they have a few trendier items and fewer aisles of holiday items. Ie it's less noticeable that it's August and there are Christmas trees staring you in the face.

My favorite parts about this location are the deli area and the food court. Probably because I go after work and am hungry enough to eat my shopping cart. The deli area always has a large selection of bbq chickens and fresh meals just waiting for you to take them home and make your dinner delicious. And if you a snack is more what you're looking for, head out of the store to the food court. This is the place to be before a Canucks game and with prices being so reasonable, you can easily get a huge full meal for $2-6. My personal favorite is the hot dog and pop deal for $2. Hot dogs are always super juicy and huge. And the poutine portions are enough to fully feed three starving people.

The only downside to this location is the lack of a usual giant parking lot. Therefore you have to pay for either street parking or a spot in their parkade. It is fully accessible by SkyTrain and the community bus and so you can take your choice! And don't try to pay with Visa or MasterCard as they don't accept them.

This mega grocery/furniture/appliances/clothing/electronic all-in-wonder seems out of place in this next of the woods. Buried underneath street level, between two stadiums leaves it almost forgotten - a good thing if you hate the bustle of the other Costco locations.
However, it serves many purposes. It provides easy reach to large quantity food items to downtown business and restaurants, and create a lower-priced option for the downtown core. It also provides the cheapest darn fast food stand you can ask for before a game or concert at one of the stadiums.

Costco gets a bonus star from me for having an amazingly low-priced specialty cheese counter. It's one of my first choices when it comes to cheese shopping. They get docked a star for having minimum $2/hr non-refundable parking stalls, and expensive event parking. I'm usually in and out in 15 minutes and would rather pay at the meter on the street, or I'd suggest doing a dine-n-dash on the parking. But you didn't hear that from me.

costco samples = lunch and/or dinner. be sure to get there way before they close though, so you don't miss out.

in the prepared food section... the costco stuffed salmon is probably my favorite. along with the rotisserie chicken. the broccoli salad is pretty good too, and nowhere near as healthy as it sounds.

the spinach and cheese ravioli they sell is amazing, and you can freeze it, so even though it comes in a huge bag, it lasts for a long time (and is great for last-minute dinners when you don't feel like cooking/preparing an elaborate meal).

love the edamame too because you can freeze that as well and eat it at your own pace.

the bags of frozen fruit are great for using in smoothies.

the poutine that they sell outside/at their restaurant (i guess you can call it that) is AMAZING. one of my favorite poutine places in vancouver, and it's only four bucks. the only downside is that it is cash only.

costco only takes cash, debit, or amex, which is another downside that they don't take all credit cards. and sometimes, they don't have the things you want in bulk (i can't think of anything off the top of my head right now, but i remember going there thinking for suuuure they had what i wanted to get in bulk... and they didn't).

love the location, it's super convenient for me since my apartment building is right there (as i'm sure that's the case with a lot of people that live around there, because there are quite a few buildings in that area).

Costco is a great place to shop. Everything is cheap for what it is, although in many cases what it is is expensive brand-name stuff. For the basics, it is great - huge packs of ground beef or pork for burgers, meatballs and bulk ragu sessions, 10kg of flour for under $10. Plus, they now do great organic coffee beans from Salt Spring and others, and even more recently, free range eggs.

But enough of that, of course the real reason we all love Costco is the high-quality family dining experience. Arriving without a reservation is no problem - there is plenty to keep you entertained while you wait for a table. The boys can hang out at the cellphone booth while Dad convinces himself yet again that he can't quite afford a flat screen HDTV and Mum browses the books and clothing for early christmas present ideas. Then, of course, there are the appetizers - dotted here and there around the store are the samples that secretly are the real reason everyone goes to Costco.

Of course, all that is only the introduction to the main course at the Costco restaurant. Montreal smoked meat buns, poutine, hot dogs and pizza round off the ultimate gourmet experience for another great way to entertain and feed the kids for cheap.

Just don't go when there's a game on at GM place. Oh, and it beats the pants off the one at Richmond - well worth the $2 it costs to park.

Am I really writing a review for Costco? Canadian Costco no less, at least in the states there is cheap cheap liquor. Before my parents dragged us to Costco on one of their visits up, my husbot was spending an obscene amount of money on organic nuts from Capers. So much so that the cashiers would always look up and make sure that we were aware that the little bag of nuts was going to be $$$.

Now we have Costco all figured out and are generally in and out in under 15 minutes. Various bags of nuts, check. Giant wedge of Parmesan Reggiano for under $30 & a log of chevre (for cooking with only), check. Earthbound Organics salad greens, got it. We also get nutritional supplements, toilet paper, and massive bags of out of season fruit.

So that's about 5% of the store that we actually purchase from. Everything else is either too large or too preservative laden for us. I'd rather get my veggies and non-cooking cheeses from the farmers market & local independent grocers. The price point on the Parmesan & the nuts makes the membership well worth it though.

It is annoying that Costco opens up for corporate cardholders only for the first hour, but we still always somehow manage to come in at just the right time to avoid the massive lineups. Validated parking would be nice as well. Three stars, how many more could you give to a massive, faceless, multinational chain warehouse store?

The location is ideal IMO for people who don't want to drive all the time to CostCo (yes not everyone hauls huge buggies) as its right next to a Sky train station. If you do drive here there is a parking charge so beware. Lots of variety. The cheese selection in this particular location is noteworthy so is the prepared food selection. With this location it was same as going to a grocery store for me as I could just buy what I needed and make another trip if necessary.

I have to lower my review..sorry Costco..but your employees are jerks..what ever happen to service with a smile...I don;t even really need the smile..just something other then a grunt at the end of my purchase would be nice...

I get that it's always busy and people are probably rude..BUT..you work there..get over it..if you hate your job so much that you have to snarl at customers then you may need a career change..maybe some place where you don;t have to work with people??

I love Costco, I just do. The downtown one is my favourite. Cleanest & less busiest one I've been to.

    I also love:

costco chocolate cones, costco poutine and costco all beef hotdogs.

I have my Costco membership through work...long time ago, I kept the membership running and I do think it has paid off.

I  love THIS Costco ONLY, the others me thinks NOT. This downtown Costco has usually no lineups, no minivan majority getting in my face shoving their carts to get ahead of me when I clearly have less than 500 items. *insert eye roll here* No 20 kids in tow at the deli and buying all the chicken strips making me wait and fuming. At this Costco, its always a pleasure. La dee da!

Like today, I bought a slim nice lookin' tower fan for about $40. A container of garlicky bbq chicken legs for $5 and a few other deals you can't get anywhere. Downside is you have to contend with over packaging, lugging gigantic boxes down to the car. Ugh, my workout for the day!

I also like the ending when you are walking out and a staff member looks at your cart, makes a check mark down your receipt, very Gestapo. oh oh, also the part where you get to try out samplings down the aisle, and sometimes can practically be full by the time u leave the store.

The loss of one star is that they only take cash, AMEX, cheques, debit and nothing else, no VISA, no MASTERCARD, that aspect of the store is boo but otherwise everything else, ME LIKEY.

I`ve been going to this Costco for about a month now.  Surprisingly i`ve yet to encounter any long line ups.  Overall, good selection, good prices, and convienient location.  A bit of overkill for a single person though.

I had a nightmare once that I was mama Duggars. I drove a school bus instead of van, just so I could fit all the goddamn kids in one vehicle. If I wasn't eating, taking a piss, sleeping or getting defiled by papa Duggars, I was changing diapers, making breakfast, lunch, afternoon snacks, or dinner. I aged untastefully and sagged in all the wrong places. I was a prisoner of fatuous religious doctrines and unfortunately, a lifetime member of Costco.

*wakes up in cold sweat and bonks head on bunkbed ledge*
    !!!faaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhkkkkkkkkk! !!

I had to slap myself silly before I snapped out of it. I thank the sweet lord that it was only a silly dream but if for some unexplainable catastrophic reason, this nightmare ever were to come true, I would do one of the two things:

    1. Jump off a bridge; or
    2. Save enough mula from shopping at Costco to surgically replace my female reproductive organs with a 15 inch wiener to scare the living _ _ _ _ out of my misogynistic husband :)

Besides being the only place where you can buy olive oil by the gallons, chips in pillow-bag sizes and ginormous wieners, Costco has become a staple for women like mama Duggars who are subject to heinous volumes of human reproduction - praise the laaauuud!

Yeah so I doing a review of Costco. Hands down Expo is best location. They have huge variety, busy but not that busy. I go there about once a month or every second month just for the choices. They have a little food stand before you walk in and often it is busier than inside the store. Loads of choices but the smoked meat sandwiches and the curly cone icecream choc/vanilla mix is the best.
Once inside you will get enough samples to tide you over until dinner.
I buy their speciality items like sauces, frozen foods like General Tsao's chicken is so good, hon's potstickers, etc, etc. I could go on but Costco is a fun place, especially the books. On my last trip I got a Ed Hardy long sleeve t-shirt. Fun, Fun!

Whether you're headed for a bulk grocery shop or escaping the downtown district for lunch, Costco always provides a dose of rural big box store.

The $2 Costco lattés are huge and milky. The espresso tastes weak, but for just a twoonie I don't expect quality roasted beans or perfect crema. The lunch offerings also come in on budget -- cheap pizza, hot dogs, and a few other options.

Find cheap prescriptions and reasonably priced bulk foods in this mega store, but avoid the produce: its perfect colorful sheen, immaculate freshness, and distance traveled don't equate to quality in my books. You're better off (price-wise and availability of local products) buying from a green grocer.

This Costco neighbors a sky train station (get off at Stadium if heading here on transit) making it a pretty quick escape if you are just jetting in for lunch from downtown.

Having a Costco downtown is great there is no doubt about it. The convenience and accessibility of the DT location are priceless.

Recently we were looking to buy a new couch, we weren't looking for something that would even last that long just cheap and comfortable enough to help us get where we're going.

I looked up the phone number wanting to call to see if they had any delivery options figuring they didn't and also figuring that I would not get anyone on the phone. To my surprise not only did something answer but it was right away, I even said "a person, for real, a person" I couldn't help it, I was so shocked.  The representative who answered the phone was not only friendly and knowledgeable but extremely helpful and professional. He informed me that Costco doesn't have their own in-store delivery but that they do have a company that does deliveries for them through a few of their locations. He gave me the name - MTAR Services and the number - 604-888-3600 so that I could cost it out before we came in to buy the couch. The delivery service is not cheap but it is there and would have still worked out cheaper than buying one at Ikea.

We ended up buying a gorgeous and comfortable sectional that you would never in a million years guess was from Costco if you saw it and the long side piece can be used on either end! My only complaint is that we were made to take the massive and i mean MASSIVE box through the cashier instead of simply giving them the SKU when I told the floor person that it was being delivered, and then I had to argue with the cashier over the delivery - she said they didn't have delivery I had to explain to her that they did, she called over a manager and we were properly assisted from there.  Taking the box through the cashier would have made sense if we were leaving with it right then or if it had shown up in the box but when it arrived (minus the delivery service, we cancelled in time - within 24 hours) it was not in a box and the legs had been put on parts of it and there were scratches on them.  I chalked it up to "you get what you pay for" but I was not impressed it arrived 'open'.

Regardless of this one situation I love the downtown Costco, but if you aren't taking something BIG out of there that instant I would check with them to make sure you are going to get it in the condition you took it through the cashier in.

Costco is great for some things, but not for everything. As a single person it can be entirely wasteful when it comes to the fresher things like pesto or cheeses. But if your having a party or plan to eat the same thing for the next 5 days then it's a bargain. Or even better go with a friend and split everything.. this can be difficult and requires a bit of work and scissors or knives but it's worth it for the savings.
I bought the package of toilet paper a year ago and i am only 1/2 way through it.. thank god i have room to store it!
The downtown location has parking for $2 which i think should be refunded with a purchase but it isn't.

Costco in downtown. How sweet is this? The savings of bulk buying available to the masses without being in the middle of nowhere Richmond.

It's close to the Skytrain as well for lugging things home. It has everything you need inside.

    It's welcome by me.

Do Canadians not know about Costco?  I was stunned at how empty this place was - and it's HUGE and has a great selection!  We saw a pile of Nintendo Wiis and Wii Fits (both of which were really hard to find in the US at the time).

and their food court has a ton more items than in the US.  Most importantly, they have POUTINE!  I'm disappointed I was too full to try it when we were there.

This review is for the "food court" out front. I haven't been in the store itself yet. The food though is great. Prices are super low, and the food tastes great. Pizza is a little on the greasy side, but sometimes thats what you need. Hot dogs are fabulous!
