Review from Allen C.
Costco, the big box stores of big box stores. This is the epic chain store that will ultimately change the way young Vancouverite parents shop, one large bulk good at a time.
The place is big and amazingly clutter free. There are unsuspecting employees working around keeping the place orderly and the aisles moving freely while incognito. They definitely help make it the gigantic product selling machine that they are so well known for.
This Costco is by far the most organized, spacious and least crowded of many of the other Costcos within a 10 mile radius.
Never forget picking up one of their hot dogs after you've trekked through their aisles. But if you time things at the right time, you'll get to try all their delicious samples to boot but make sure you save some space for that hot dog! woot woot! -

I think everyone already knows what Costco's about, so I'll save you the details on that.
I like this particular Costco better than the downtown (annoying that I have to pay for parking) and Richmond locations. Costco can be a zoo sometimes on the weekends, but I love that I can pick up my favourite magazine here for 30% off!!
Tips:
1. If for any reason, you only need to pick up a couple of items, don't bother with the gigantic cart. You'll be amazed at how quickly you can navigate through Costco if you don't have a 5 ton cart to fight with.
2. If you see something that's seasonal (ie. Christmas item) and you like it, BUY IT!! Don't say, oh I'll just pick it up next time, because guess what, once they sell out, they don't re-stock/re-order. I did this to myself with a beautiful Christmas wreath this season which I should have bought when I saw it. -

I really like this location. Lots of parking (if it's not a weekend, but I would never ever go to a costco on the weekend!) Big new store that's always organized. Lots of eating room for those yummy hot dogs and poutine. The only thing I avoid buying here is vegetables and fruit, for just the two of us the portions are just too big.

Okay, this is for the TIRE CENTRE:
So out of the blue I noticed that my tire was extremely deflated. Looking more closely I realized that someone had slashed my tire, but not all the way. That's where the leak came from.
Tires can get pretty expensive if you're not careful. And I decided to shop around and take a look at the prices in the U.S. to get an idea of what would be considered a cheap tire.
Price:
I called a buddy at Transit and he recommended I call a place called Tire Stop for my tires. I gave them my exact Tires and they quoted me 138 per tire with installation PLUS Tax. (another 12%). The same tires at Costco including taxes, installation, and disposable fee came out to $250 for a pair. And they did a great job, you get tire rotations for life, and this is where they can save you a lot of money, they will fix your tire if it's flat free of charge.
Service: When I made my first call to this location, they were right off the bat extremely friendly and helpful. Great tone, no gruff, or the arrogance that comes from other auto shops. I told them the specific tire I needed, they told me how many they had in stock (if any) and continued to tell me how many the other locations had. They answered all my questions in a friendly manner.
And when my bro and I went to the store, they offered friendly service again and gave an accurate time estimate for when the tires would be changed. And everything went off without a hitch.
After effect:
The car drives a lot better now, and feels balanced. I'm hoping it's going to save me a lot more gas in the future. I'm very happy with it, and would recommend people to try out this location. They did the right thing by rotating my old tires to the front, and making sure the new tires were in the back. And for some reason, they decided to switch all the plugs that keep the tire air from leaking with new green ones. That was definitely unexpected. But overall, really happy and would recommend.
Here's the thing too. If a membership is 55 and if Costco happens to be the cheapest price for tires in town (after you've called around) you might as well just get the damn membership. It hit me afterwards that if I had to replace all 4 tires and they are $15 cheaper than every where else, then it's the equivalent of a global membership.
Thank You Costco Tire Stop. -

Goddamn, I love Costco. If not for the all beef hotdogs and poutine, but for the great steaks and all things to be eaten.
Though, my review is mostly about their Photo Centre. I ordered them online and was weary about paying 10 cents a print. NO WAY they are good quality.
Oh, but they are. Far superior than London Drugs 39 cent per print.
18 dollars for 112 photos, I think that's pretty decent and you can't beat that anywhere else. Plus, the photo's looked really good and not at all 'cheap'. -

Costco, make the consumer use more for a cheaper price.... Totally their motto in sales and retail. But I mean people will buy if it's just maybe like a couple dollars cheaper just so they can buy things in bulk and make consumers use more. That is why North America is so obese... LOL. JK JK
As usual this place is no surprise. A typical Costco and the newly renovated moved from Grandview Hwy. A great location which made the city to renovate their streets and roads. They totally had something with the City of Burnaby. Totally had something we don't know about... LOL.
I am pretty happy that the food bar is still the same as most Costcos, but only thing is they don't have CHURROS... TRES SAD.. QQ I love my Churros, but they used to have it, not anymore... QQ
The staff here are very friendly for sure. The people who work at the customer service are amazingly friendly. Sometimes they don't even question a returns, which is a good thing.. *COUGH COUGH*. The parking is HUGE, and there is always ways to find the best parking ever. The cashier staff is not bad either. They are always so talkative to the members. They do their job efficiently and gracefully.
I come here for cheap food from time to time and this place is amazing. Fast and cheap. But they are all processed food, so don't kill yourself all over it. It's so unhealthy. But it is comfortable fast food. Only treat yourself from time to time. -

Costco is a great place to shop for a variety of things. Costco's stuff usually come in bigger packs, but are not as expensive. Costco also has great deals like the the American Express card:it gives you two percent rebate when you go to Costco or restaurants and other stores!! I love shopping at Costco!!!

I loathe grocery shopping so I'm going to review Costco as a 'restaurant' and a clothing store.
Okay - here it comes: BEST VALUE HOT DOG *AND* POUTINE in Vancouver. Ya... I *said* it... best value hot dog and poutine in Vancouver. Not the cheapest -- not the absolute best... just the most bang for yo' dolla.
Poutine - steak fries, tasty gravy and big cheese curds - $4 for a portion large enough for at least 2 people. The biggest factor being fries - always piping hot and crispy. I honestly don't understand the hype behind 'specialty' poutine joints - La Bella Patate has soggy fries and double the price - Anny's Dairy Bar is way too far out of the city. You can claim all the authenticity you want... talk about 'squeaky' cheese curds or the quality of gravy... but without solid fries, any poutine is an instant fail. It's like saying serving top-quality sushi over overcooked rice. In my opinion, fries (like rice to sushi) is the meal itself... not a delivery vehicle for gravy and cheese. Never had a bad poutine at Costco - ever.
Hot Dog - $2 with a drink - just a tasty jumbo hot dog on a bun. Self serve topping bar is always stocked with sauerkraut, peppers, onions - and of course, ketchup, mustard and relish. Only way this could be better is if they had pickles and the onions were grilled. Just an honest-to-goodness solid, cheap and filling hot dog - the only down point is that the bun can be a bit soggy at times. In absolute flavour, it's not as good as the infamous Japadog, but you really can't ignore the price differential. And it's worth the money over those crap $0.50 hot dogs you can find at Ikea.
Cash only and you don't need to be a Costco member to eat at the snack bar (just enter through the 'exit' pass customer service) - hell, I'm not a member (... or the president...) and I come to this Costco often to grab a quick and cheap meal.
Come with a friend with a Costco card and load up on dirt cheap underwear and socks or any other basic clothing that requires frequent rotation. Ever wonder how I can afford to have such a massive collection of kicks and fitteds? $20 'brand name' shirts and pants from Costco that last longer than one wash unlike most budget clothing lines.
Yup - I'm a miser and I love it. No matter how much money you have, nothing beats scoring a good deal. I get off on this shit. -

This for the food court.
Poutine is good for the volume. And no joke, it does appear to be meant for two. Gravy, however, was a bit salty. I usually eat my poutine at new york fries but they cost much more.
Pizza...not so much. Fake cheese, weird tomato sauce. Tastes better in the states. -

My five star rating is mainly based on the food court lol. $2 Hotdog and drink, you can't be that. I rather go Costco any day over downtown for Japadog. Sure it may not taste as good, but I can always bring my own seaweed and terimayo to Costco and afterward I take a grand tour around Costco sampling all the free crappy samples they offer lol.
Ok, seriously though, great customer service, 90 day refund/price match, cheaper than most places (if you can eat bulk), and feed a family of 4 for under 15 bucks. That's cheaper than McDonald's! -

Costco's going to take over the world soon!
Out of all the Costco's in Vancouver, Richmond and Burnaby, this is my favorite one. The products are usually well stocked and everything is generally in order. The parking spots are huge and I don't have to worry about terrible drivers not being able to park their cars inside 2 straight lines. The deli foods are always fresh and easy to prepare when I don't feel like cooking at home.
Now onto the food court. I love grabbing a quick lunch here since they have added a pecan apple salad to their menu. Their prices are pretty darn hard to beat. I don't think I can purchase food and cook them at home at those prices.
$5.99 Apple pecan salad and $1.99 hotdog and drink. DONE! -

I have to admit, going to Costco can be kind of exciting. It's not just about buying groceries; it's about finding stuff you like in ridiculous quantities and at way cheaper prices than you pay in oh, a regular store. The bargains I'm getting - on Snapple! And soup! and granola bars! Whee! A giant pack of samosas! The drawback is that you can spend a stupendous sum on these bargains, and they don't take credit cards either.
Going to Costco used to be a dirty secret, but I'm now coming clean about my mass-market lowbrow shopping habit. There I said it: I enjoy going to Costco. Especially when it's sample day and the electric frypans are a-sizzling. You definitely work off the snacking while lugging the stuff up to your apartment, and it's good for the brain to figure out how to Tetris the load into available cupboard space.
The best part is, one trip here can load us up for months. -

Finally, there's a big Costco in Burnaby which matches the size of other newer Costco locations. The size of the parking spaces are huge, this location sells macadamia nuts during the Christmas season! Although it's big, it does get very crowded during the weekends.
Tip: shop here during the weekdays. It's rarely crowded. -

Costco is my favourite place to go to when I'm craving for cheap hot dogs. For about $2 you can get a hot dog and a drink! It's crazy affordable and crazy GOOD! Of course it cannot compare to your typical Japa Dog, but it's decent enough.
You gotta try their fries too! And better yet, make it a poutine! I think their poutines are $3-4 but it's huge and it's sooooo food-gasmic.
Other then their fast food stand, I really don't go to Costco. I never need so many quantities of one thing and I don't see it being a really good deal to buy so much at once.
Oh by the way, the concession stand only takes cash. -

Going to Costco is definitely an adventure. You never know what you're going to find, you never know what's going to be new. I came here two years ago... Boy was it an adventure! Whenever you go to a Costco, you always stop by those free samples just to try something new that you have never tried before...
Well, you can always get everything in ridiculous quantities as Christine had stated. I left Costco with lots of things, but the unique find of that visit was Green Tea Mocha. I have never heard or seen any such thing at that time! After making it, it was OKAY, not great, but definitely gave me a lot of excitement... Like I said, you'll never know what you'll get or what you'll find. Even one of the workers at Costco asked where in the world did I find such a product? Haha. It was fun.
Oh. And definitely CANNOT, and that is a firm, I CANNOT leave Costco without some Poutine :) yum yum yum. Absolutely delicious. But here in the US, it's a Polish... Not that exciting as poutine, but still okay.
It's not about the things you buy or the stuff you take home with you, it's about the adventure darn it! Hahaahaha. :) -

I like this location they have extra wide parking stalls and lots of them. Great selection of items I like getting the free range eggs, roasted chicken and rib eye steaks here. Love their poutine and also their chicken strips.
