Calling all pet people! This is the place for YOU.
This is my all-time favourite downtown place to purchase dog food & treats.
Why I love Cosmopawlitan:
- They always remember what kind of dog food I'm feeding Logan. Which is awesome, because I always forget. They have the frequent food programs that Nutro, etc set up. Make sure you ask if your regular food has one! (ie. Buy 10000 bags, get one free. ;)
- Special orders are more than welcome, and they normally arrive in-store very quickly with a 2-3 day turnaround.
- Great followup; I tend to be very forgetful, so I appreciate their staff calling to remind me his food has arrived. When I pick it up, it's clearly labelled with my name on it.
- The staff knows their stuff. They're very well versed on the products they sell, and are comfortable to make recommendations.
- Most of the staff (if not all) are full time, and are passionate about working at Cosmo. They truly love what they do, and in my opinion, it really shows.
I mean, really, who doesn't love staff who will stand and talk to you about your dog for 30 minutes?! I do I do!!! :-D
- Comfortable. spacious layout of store. I love that I can take my big dog in here, and he's not walking into walls, and backing up into displays. This store is LARGE!
- Inventory Galore! They have a fantastic selection of treats, toys, specialty supplements, clothing, ect. I have to make a point to mention they carry a large inventory of Tripett Green Tripe, which I buy by the dozen every month or so ..
Don't see what your looking for? ASK! They're always open to suggestions for new inventory.
- I also really appreciate that they carry a large variety of Canadian brands -- Yippee for supporting Canadian business.
- Grooming: While Logan doesn't require the typical grooming services, I do trust them with trimming his nails which is very traumatic (for me). But I'm very pleased to report, that this isn't like a typical nail trim at "BIG BOX PET STORE"; Logan' freely goes into the back room with the available groomer, and always returns with his little nub wiggling, and treats falling out of his mouth.

They offer in-home boarding!
Your pup actually goes home with a trusted Cosmo employee, who can keep you updated of your pets' adventures ... they also offer daycare. How perfect would it be, to drop your dog off before you leave for work, just to pick them up 8 hours later exhausted from a day of puppy play!
I only have one problem with this place; It's easy to waste an entire afternoon in here! -

I have to admit that I have trouble finding a good, reliable groomer in the city. I'm a bit of a snob like that. Here at Cosmopawlitan, I found it, plus fantastic pet supplies and incredible staff.
I have shopped here and found humane tools and equipment for dogs, as well as the highest quality foods for both cats and dogs. They have some really neat stuff that you won't find in a lot of pet stores and it all comes from them *really* listening to their clients.
Hoann's great grooming can be seen all over this fair city - go on, ask someone whose pooch has a great cut - they'll tell you all about her! She's a saint. Her calm and gentle manner translates quickly to dogs and they are instantly comfortable with her.
Cynthia is just the loveliest person you'll ever meet. She's so knowledgeable about pets and are the type of person that you can trust immediately. Great first impression that lasts!
Last year I held classes in the daycare area of Cosmopawlitan and was treated like royalty. I am so looking forward to a long relationship with these kind folks.
I can't say enough about this great boutique and spa; just stop what you're doing and go check it out. :) -

I LOVE THIS PLACE.
Great location, wonderful staff, one of the BEST and biggest selections of canine attire in the city (with the freshest fashions), and also stocks Malik's food! Never smelly, always clean and beautifully laid out.
Not to mention it's down the street from Harbourfront Centre, where I work! PERFECTION.
I have taken advantage of the grooming services and the doggy day care here, which were both phenomenal and well-priced.
This is the only place I have ever used for day care (they call it "Pet Stay") and I was such a wreck the first time I left her alone (nervous parent) it was ridiculous. They were patient with me, understanding, so lovely and very comforting. Eventually (by the 2nd or 3rd time) I felt totally comfortable leaving Malik, knowing she would be well taken care of, exercised throughout the day, and kept with other similar-sized and similar-temperamented doggy friends. They have the option of early-morning drop-off, which I needed - VERY convenient, and you can call and check in during the day if you like.
Favourite purchases here include Malik's winter hat (http://www.caniswear.c...) and her front-pack carrier (http://www.dinodirect....), both bought on sale.

Checked out the location on Queens Quay and was really impressed. The products are great, the food selection is great and the staff is even better. They're helpful, knowledgeable, friendly and quite funny! All the dogs that were coming out from grooming and daycare looked really happy and well...good-looking! Sounds like they have a really amazing groomer there so I'll be checking her out soon with my little guy. I've gotten lots of feedback about her and it's all been positive so that sets my mind at ease.

A huge store right down on the lake. I rarely get out here but when I do I never walk away empty handed. They have a good selection of foods, toys, dog clothes, beds, etc. I even bought my dog's potty park here (totally worth it!) and his flexible dog bowls. The staff seems knowledgable and they do grooming (my dog is short haired so we haven't tried this service out but there seemed to be a steady stream of dogs so it looks popular). The owner has even special ordered a few items for me and my pooch.
