    I had thought Cosmo closed down until last month. Then my friend told me about new location. I had to go check it out. WOW. This isn't guitar store anymore. This musical instrument heaven!

    Everything is so well organized and stocked. It is very clean and modern. It is very inviting and pleasant. Amazing.

    Service is upgraded too. There is much more class in staffs' behaviors. It is very different from "dude" type of service you get at Steve's. Don't get me wrong. Folks are Steve's very nice and easy-going (look for my review!). But people at Cosmo music is more professional and refined in their manners. They seem to have very polish knowledge in music too!

    This isn't just a guitar store anymore. They now sell a wide variety of instruments like flutes, saxophones, cellos, etc. Piano selection is nice too.

    I was told by an employee that they now have classrooms for music lessons. They have concert room too, which can be used for concerts, jamming and even birthday parties. They can even help you with music recording and mixing.

    My gripe? Well there is one. This place seems so clean, gentle and perfect that I don't feel comfortable grabbing a random guitar to jam!

    From now on, this is my go-to place for guitars. Sorry Steve's.

    I wish Cosmo music had been like this when I was 14.

    I would call this place the music equivalent of a Sport Chek.  Being used to small, often crammed & dusty boutique music shops, I was pleasantly surprised by Cosmo's spacious, clean & brightly lit one shop stop for all things music.  The store functions like a mini-music mall, with an atrium & specialty shops for brass, string, piano & sheet music.  There's even a coffee shop & music studio.  Customer service is pretty good, with more employees on hand than required (I went during non peak hours).

    The only downside is that the store is located kind of in the middle of nowhere (north of Major Mackenzie, away from major shopping areas), but it's located off of Leslie, which is close enough to the 404, so it's not too bad.

    Coolest musical instrument store ever. Each segment of musical instrument has it's own little store. It looks like a lot of cafes inside a big office building and each cafe has their own specialty; guitars, woodwinds, string, percussion, turntables, and pretty much everything. Staff is super knowledgeable and most of them are teachers at the school upstairs. The cafe on the main floor isn't bad and they have tasty treats. Where this store shines is the guitar section. Pick and guitar, walk into one of many soundproof rooms, plug in, and jam all day long. Nobody will bug you! It's pretty sweet, even if you don't own a guitar you could prob log a few hours each day here. The Acoustic section upstairs is really nice and has cool circle couches to jam on.

    Overall, this is THE place to go for music gear. The prices are a little higher than some other places but it's not much of a difference and the service and experience make up for it. Come here and try to resist buying anything, a bloody hard thing to do.

    If ever there was a music store amusement park, this might be it!

    The store's (and I use ther word "store" loosely - this place was a small community) layout is broken down into their own, glass-doored, sound-proof rooms, each section with their own exterior design to set it apart from the other sections that almost warrants me to review each on its own (but the lobby is where the check-out is thus reminding me this is one epic-sized place).

    The sections are these:
    * Bookstore - Full of instructional (both beginner and intermediate) and song books for all instruments (and organized by such as well)
    * Drums and Drum sets
    * Woodwinds and brass
    * Strings
    * Guitars
    * Sound equipment
    * Pianos - located upstairs with a very conservative sales rep who knew his stuff
    * Lessons - located upstairs (near the pianos) with a waiting room that looks very similar to a large doctor's office.
    * Cafe in the lobby by cash

    What was great about this place was that its noise was from the bustle of shoppers and not the playing and banging of instruments you'd expect to hear. The display cases for some of their instruments (particularly the woodwinds and brasses) looked like a museum displaying delicate works of art... shiny.

    This is truly a place for any musician to check out and for those looking to start up with an instrument, make this a starting point.

    I remember the old Cosmo, the one where I would rent my clarinet every year and that looked like an oversized portable and smelled about the same.  I can say without reservation that I was amazed when I went to the new store on Leslie.  I'm no longer a musician (and everyone but my mother would tell you that I wasn't one then either) but I still appreciate the art and like to go to music stores.  The store is set up like a street in some sort of magical music town.  Each instrument or family of instruments has its own store where you go in and see the wares.  The store is a massive two stories and jammed full of musical instruments.  All the staff is very knowledgeable about their particular instruments and manage to convey this knowledge without condescension.  If you are a musician of any level then I would highly recommend you make the trek to this store and revel in all its glory.

    This place is a magical palace for all things musical.  You could spend hours here browing the "rooms" and checking out percussion, guitars, keyboards, etc.  There is no place like this anyway in the world.  I honrestly think that is their claim to fame - they are the largest music store in the world!  Ive been to music alley on 48th st in NYC a thousand times - and aside from the historical ambiance there..."hey buddy, did you know that Peter Buck was just strumming that guitar 15 mins ago..." nothing beats the exploration at Cosmo.  They did a great job  in planning the new design which is a huge step up from their small, cavernous digs that were at Yonge and 16th ave.  Not that there was anything wrong with that place - but the new digs on Leslie St are just too  crazy good to pass up
    Staff is dynamic and fun and so knowledgeable.  Prices are very reasonable as well...so while I love Steves and  L&M, you cant beat the experience that is Cosmo!
