Review from Lady O.

I had a 1/2 dozen oysters and walked away a $10 CHAMPION!!!
$2.50 per Kumomoto
$2.25 per Gliddon Point
$1.50 per Blue Point
$1 per Delaware Bay
The expert shuckers are also kind enough to provide 7 different types of hot sauce + a huge lemon wedge for your dining pleasure. Best believe I will be returning to buy these beauties in bulk (homemade oyster pan roast for everyone!), but in the meantime, nothing says summer like slurping seriously fresh shelfish on the street. -

Fantastic fish selection, and excellent service. I have been to Cosenza's Fish Market for the second year in a row for salt cod and fresh mussels.......awesome.

Best fish store I have ever been to, by far. Scallops, shrimp, fish, whatever you want this is the place to find it. They have a raw oyster bar right in front, where you can slug a few back.
Randazzo is across the street and is probably just as good, but my preference is Cosenza. -

Clam and oyster bar right outside on the sidewalk. They open them right in front of you, and they taste so fresh. My mom kept saying they tasted fishy but not to me. Be prepared to stand and eat.

Authur ave offers a bird eye view into New Yorks 1920's little italy, including fresh markets, wonderful italian restaurants and a bustling mafia scene.
Cosenza's is right in the heart of little italy, with a small oyster bar right out front of the market. I don't cook/buy a lot of fish, but I love oysters and this was a great sample of old school technique.
On the street you see and smell the fres fish and usually there is some crazy guy with a hose washing the street. As you step up to the outdoor ice case that holds the oysters, the water guy stops and two /six/ a dozen oysters are shucked and placed on top of the ice case. You slurp them down, hand over your money and your off to explore some more of this crazy part of town. -

Delicious oysters and clams on the half shell right outside, 6 blue points for $9... What a deal! I could stand on the street all day and keep eating oyster after oyster... Inside they have tons of types of fresh fish and seafood including Italian specialties. I'd drive from far away to buy fish at this market, they have tons of choices, great helpful employees, and very reasonable prices compared to the city.

whatever tita wants. tita gets. tita wants to go to arthur avenue at 9am to buy fish? then i roll out of bed and drive her there.
i had a pretty mean case of bed head that day. couldnt find any of my hats anywhere. but what did i care? i was only going to drive my aunt to the fish market so she could buy some fish to make whatever she was making that day...
i stood outside and waited. and waited. and while waiting, i couldnt help but notice the raw bar. i have never tried an oyster in my life. but there was something about that sunny morning, standing outside a fish store with my mean case of bed head that made me want to try an oyster. i started a conversation with one of the guys there and told him my story. he recommended the blue point oysters as a starter. gave me a couple of directions before i slurped away. i asked for one. just one little oyster to see if i would like it or not. one slurp...lead to two...which led to four.
needless to say, im a fan due to the friendly dude (yes. dude.) that entertained my (not so) early morning antics.
p.s. the fish store? pretty good too. cant really go into detail since i was too busy outside. -

The fish is very fresh, and stop for some delicious oysters if you have the time. It's a little on the pricey side, but if you're looking for good fish, you probably want to pay money for them. Much better than buying in the supermarket.
