Coronation Dog Park gets two paws up from both of my pooches, Ripley and Sid. Not only is the view nice, there's lots of room for dogs to run and play, but it's not so large that it's hard to keep an eye on them. Several green bins are available so you don't have to walk far to throw away what you've scooped. I usually go in the late afternoon or early evening, and it's never been very crowded at those times. Dog owners that I've met here have, for the most part, had dogs that are well-behaved and friendly. However, be sure to bring water for your pets since there isn't a fountain available. Happy romping!

One of my favourite dog parks in Toronto, Coronation Park is probably the safest place to let an unreliable dog off-leash; it's fencing goes right down to the ground and has no gaps.
With all of the trees and the lake right there, it's quite cool and pleasant....I sometimes see swans in the water, and there are always ducks and fish. And if you or your pooch get tired of the park itself, you can continue your walk along the waterfront pathway for as long as you like!
I usually go late morning or early afternoon, and the dogs are, for the most part, pretty well-balanced. All of the other dog walkers I've met at this park are very responsible and respectful; much more so than Trinity Bellwoods, for example. -

It's a dog park. You take your dog here when it's play time for him/her/it or you're tired of getting those lovely tickets from the bylaw enforcement folks when you let your pup run off lead.
Early in the morning you'll find the "regulars" who are all a bunch of friendly people with well managed dogs.
The weekends during the warmer months can be a little busy with all the visitors.
When it rains the entrance can get a little muddy. -

This is such a lovely dog park. Lots of trees, and the lake breeze makes this the coolest dog park downtown...literally! Lots of garbage bins as well to tuck away dookie. I never find it very busy here in the evenings or on the weekends, which means not many canine companions running around so be sure to bring a toy!
The only thing missing is a dog accessible water fountain, like they have at St. Andrews Playground.Listed in: Dog Parks Yo!

A nice park down by the water. Lots of trees and a breeze from the water makes it a cool spot for doggies on a hot day. Not as close for us as Stanley park but we have gone a few times. Definitely not as many dogs to play with but it is fully fenced all the way round and has a double gate for secure entry/exit.

I just discovered Coronation Dog Park by accident earlier this week and my two visits there have been great, in spite of the cold weather! Coronation Dog Park is a large, completely fenced in, double-gated dog run right by the lake. If you go to the site I posted with this review you can see pictures, including the rules of the park. This park is open from 6am til midnight. The first night I was there was during a snowstorm and there were only a few dogs there. This morning was bitterly cold and there were only two other dogs there. I have been told that on weekends the place really fills up, and of course by summer the place should be hopping. So far all the dog owners that I have met there have been very friendly, and the dogs have a great time.
