Review from Nyssa R.
The Core is super convenient if you work in the downtown area. It has a few stores, not a wide variety I'd say, but convenient if you need to run to the mall at lunch and grab something to wear or eat. I think in terms of the stores, they tend to cater to the downtown market more, which I guess makes sense, but for someone like me who doesn't necessarily always wear dress clothes, it's definitely missing casual stores (like it does have a Sirens and your generic chain stores, but it doesn't have anything specializing in sporty or skate clothes). It's cool to have a Shoppers here too.
The food court is really neat, they standardized all the signage so that it looks a lot neater and upscale. Good selection of food choices, and not all chains - which is nice. Tons of seating, very good cleaning staff that keep the tables clear. Nice bathrooms. Really not a whole lot of complaints here.
Also connected to the +15 and has valet parking after 4pm. I can't wait until the garden is done =) -

Wow, so this is what those gagillions of dollars bought ;0). Ok, I will think of a positive way to start this out...that skylight does let in alot of light lol. It's a mall & most of the time I try my darndest to avoid malls at all costs. It is convenient as ya, it's downtown. At least I can go to most of the places I need to all in one fell swoop. Bank, drugstore, bookstore, clothing etc...all there. If i could, I'd give it 2 1/2 stars, but alas not an option here.
To breakdown the stores. Well, being on a very limited income the stores are completely out of my range. Seriously, the prices in most are outrageous. I'm also not into labels. But hey, if "you" are then you'll love it. Plus, it seems, alot of chicks out there are obsessed with H & M which is definitely represented. You cannot miss it in fact, cuz it's massive. It does have a few of my fave stores there though Ricki's & Rocky Mountain Soap Company. So bravo for that.
The Food Court, well what can I say lol. It's a Food Court, places I try to also avoid at all costs. There are a few additions though & the Gelato place is da bomb! Totally don't be here from noon - 1pm on a weekday. The office drones spill out & it gets insanely busy. Like as in, line ups a plenty & no seats to be had.
If you want convenience check you got it. And if you got a wallet stacked with mega bucks check this place out. If mega name brands & some stores finally here in Canada from the U.S. tickles your fancy then rush on in. Most likely you will not run into me though. Happy spending! -

What's the saying? You can put lipstick on a pig???
The Core Shopping Centre isn't much different than it was before except aesthetically. I really don't like any of the stores in the Core and I don't really understand if it is distinct from TD Square. I would shop TD Square and the Bay over the Core any day.
Also, the food court is atrocious so don't shop there if you are starving or you will turn psychotically grumpy and wind up buying things you need out of desperation to leave and get some food that isn't covered in grease or overpriced.
Maybe it was the hunger that has influenced this review so I will bookmark it and update it at a later date. -

The core shopping center is a three level shopping mall that is in the core of downtown Calgary.
It has a wide variety of shops and is anchored by a Holt Renfrew and an H&M.
The idea that it is anchored by these two stores shows the wide variety of shopping, since Holt is high end and H&M is more of a bargain department store.
The core offers free underground parking on evenings and weekends.
If you are looking for a variety of shops, don't overlook the core! -

I love what they have done to upgrade and rebrand the core shopping centre. It is is modern visually pleasing, interactive. The marketing team does a fantastic job of promotion.
