The best bicycle shop I've ever been to! Core goes above and beyond when it comes to customer service and expertise. Chris (the boss) is the nicest, coolest dude ever! His knowledge of every bike from old-school BMX to anything current is that of a true expert. Not only did he hook me up with the parts I needed at a very reasonable price, but he also taught me things about my bikes that I didn't know before. Dropping by Core truly made my day!
Whether you walk in there with a bike that's worth 20 bucks or one that's worth 5000 bucks, you will be given the same respect and level of service. Core sets the standard of what a bike shop should be and they are now my source for all my BMX and bicycle needs (they service and sell more than just BMX).
I should mention that although there are a handful of other bike shops in my area, I will be trekking all the way across town to go to Core. Thanks again for everything, Chris! -

Core, you rock my world, or rather you helped unrock my world today. I am a beginnerish bicyclist, and I have been having some problems with my seat. After trying (in vain) to fix said seat, I ended up rocking up and down all over the east end, much to the hilarity of other drivers, and chagrin of my nether regions. I called Core for their hours and expertise, I was greeted by a friendly voice inviting me to visit anytime before 5 pm.
I felt embarrassed to show them said seat (especially because it was liberally covered in duct tape) and I was worried that the fix might be more than my bike is worth. Rad Dread Head (I've sadly forgotten his name) quickly looked at the bike and began to assess. After peeling off my dreadful duct job he pulled the seat apart, rebuilt it and sprayed it with some magic spray. Voila bike fixed approximately 3 minutes later.
As he reassembled the bike we spoke about my sticky kick stand, and the travesty of WD-40 when used on bicycles (strips oil rather than replacing it.) He pointed out some dazzling blue and silver streamers to which I scoffed and asked him what he took me for, to which he promptly responded, "a chick who just rode in here with a jean skirt."
Sadly I did not leave with the sparkly streamers, but with a sparkling feeling about this chic spot. They fixed my bike and they didn't charge me a cent. So Core, thanks for being a spot that really cares about your customers, I will go to none other for my tune ups.
Bottom line...while quirky and sporting child labour this place is a gem of Toronto and I can't wait for my next break down!Listed in: Follow the leader...ROTD

I went in there today to get them to not only adjust my seat and handle bars for free, but also to get a free sticker.
You know why they have free stickers? Because the first kid that served me was LITERALLY TWELVE YEARS OLD. I know I tend to exaggerate, but I actually asked him. And the other kid who was supervising? SEVENTEEN. I know because I asked him too.
Yes, this place is run by child laborers. Just the way I like it. Still good customer service, but I wonder if that's because they are paid in stickers and doritos.Listed in: The Beach
