I love this place - the tacos are tasty, but make sure to hit up the salsa bar for the full flavour experience! I think they make all of their own sauces.
If i'm honest, the people that run Corazon de Maiz (it's been the same three people since it opened, I'm pretty sure) are 60% of it's appeal - they are super friendly and always greet everyone and thank them for repeat business. It's nice to find such fresh and reasonably priced Mexican food in a neighborhood often beset with touristy schlock. If I had one complaint, on one visit the steak was super salty - I think it was a one time thing though.
Try it! I will be back, and I will bring friends. -

The tacos are better than last time!!! I had to break my one a day review to update my review of CDM because I want more people to go.
This time around I had a chance to try the beef tacos and try some other hot sauces. Solid flavours. The taco shells are still the weakest part of the taco, I hope they eventually make their own and I guarantee I'd bump my rating up another star.
This place has the best tacos in Ottawa. I do prefer burritos at other places but I'd definitely come here for tacos. The owners are always friendly, funny and super awesome. Sit at the counter and chat with them about food!Listed in: 2012: 366 Day Challenge, Ottawa: Cheap Eats

The tastiest Mexican I can get in Ottawa/Gatineau. I come from the southern US where good Mexican is readily available, so I was a bit disappointed at the options in Ottawa. I stumbled onto this spot one day and never looked back. It's simply delicious. Great selection of homemade food and sauces.
I've had the pulled pork soft tacos, beef quesadilla, and chicken burrito. All were great, but I think their pork and beef are my favorites. -

Finally, a really good Mexican taqueria in Ottawa. The tacos were excellent--especially the pork with the sweet habernero hot sauce. My husband had a lovely beef quesadilla, but my favorite dish was the tortilla soup--the best I've had since we lived in California. We'll be back often. Hopefully, they'll be open for more than just lunch soon.
