Best taxi service I've ever used.. Service in Miami is pretty bad, Coral Gables Taxi is a definite exception. I live in CG and I've used them dozens of times for going out late night to Brickell or SOBE. Or early morning flights from MIA. I've never had a problem. They always pick up the phone, the taxi shows up on-time and they call you to let you know theyre outside.. You can even request cars that accept credit cards-- not common in Miami.

This is a great taxi service. We needed a taxi at 6:30 in the morning to get to the Miami airport. We called the night before and made the appointment and then called to confirm in the morning. They were there 10 minutes early and drove quickly...not slowly like all the yellow cabs we have taken in Miami. Don't be freaked out by the walkie talkie thing they have when you call though...it's just how they do things

I was staying in Miami for a visit to University of Miami. I was staying in Coconut Grove and they had given me a number for Diamond cabs. When I was in Coral Gables at University of Miami I called for a pick up from Diamond but apparently they don't pick up there, so I googled and found this number on a smart phone.
On Sunday it was fine, called, a cab showed up and the driver was great.
I also went for a visit on Monday, and called the same number for the same pick up. They said it would be about 10-15 minutes, which was fine. I was waiting, and a cab pulls up. it wasn't a cab filled area, so I assumed it was mine, and it was also the same driver as Sunday. All signs pointed to the fact it was the same cab company.
When I was in the cab, i got a call from the number. I ignored it at first figuring it was just from the company. They called back, and I answered. The driver said he was at the location asking where I was. I responded that I was already in a cab. The cab driver then began to yell at me over the phone about how I shouldn't call two cab companies. I promptly hung up on him.
Soon after, I got another phone call from the company, which was ignored, and a voicemail saying how terrible it was that I had them dispatched to a special location then not use them . I was to never call them again.
I have lived in Chicago for four years, used numerous cab companies for pick ups and I have never had anything like this happen to me. i gave the number to Mayfair Hotel so that way they would know never to recommend this number for a pick up in Coral Gables. Don't use this Cab Company if you are in the area, and if you do make sure it is that cab because you may have some unpleasant interactions. -

Do NOT call this taxi service unless you are willing to miss your flight/appointment! I called last night for a 5:20 am taxi. Never arrived. I called again at 5:25 and they said it would be 5 minutes. NEVER ARRIVED!
Plus, they don't use phones. They use some awful dispatch device such that I could not understand 1 word they said, and, I assume, they couldn't understand 1 word that I said...

I was misguided by the positive reviews about this company. This morning, I had the same experience as Jo E. (And how dare anyone call another's comment misguided based on their own experience.)
I called the night before to make a 4:40am reservation to ensure that I would be on time for my flight. They did not show. After 5 minutes, I called them again, and (after asking them to repeat what they said three times because I couldn't hear or decipher what they were saying), I understood them to say 5-10 minutes. After 15 minutes of waiting, I called again, and they told me, "2 minutes." I asked how I could believe them at this point, and the guy on the line gave me attitude as if I was the problem and said, "You can call another company," and HUNG UP on me!!!
ATROCIOUS. Ruined my day.
The driver eventually showed up 25 minutes after I called and was apologetic. He said that it was a very busy morning. It's probably the fault of management. Being that late is inexcusable when the reservation was made the night before, and being incredibly rude to customers, especially when the company is at fault, is unacceptable.
Never use this company. -

The day we got off our cruise ship, we grabbed a cab right outside the Port of Miami. We told him which hotel we're going to and he told us the road was close due to the Miami marathon and the ProBowl and how he has to go around which is going to cost us over $35 for a cab ride. We didn't want to get in with him but we had no choice.
He kept telling us that he hates going into South Beach (then why did you offer to bring us there, you stupid jerk?) and how it's so crowded there and he kept saying "I wouldn't try to jip you, it's MY cab number, MY cab number!" He said that about 150 times and at this point, I wanted to shoot myself in the head.
My husband got irritated with him and told him that he can drop us off here because we don't want to spend over $35 for a cab ride, he was doing all these U-turns and it was irritating us so finally he said that he'll split the cost and won't charge us moreo than $35, the total came to $40 something but we only gave him $35, no tip.
Just because we're out-of-towners, it doesn't mean you can push us around thinking we don't know you're a sketch ball who just wants more money from us. From all my terrible cab experiences in Florida, I can say now that I don't like Florida anymore, it was my second home for a long time and now i hate it. -

Until now, I had not yet had a pleasant experience getting to or from MIA in a cab.
I found these guys on google local business results with one review--a positive one--so I gave them a chance. The owner answered, and he asked me for an address and a pick up time. He called 15 minutes before the pick up time to let me know he was on his way. Then he showed up right on time. Best of all, he gave me a flat rate to the airport.
I would definitely use them again. -

The negative comment on here is clearly misguided. This taxi company has always been extremely prompt, helpful, and honest. The owner drives a taxi himself, and will frequently do the pick ups himself. I've had taxis requested at 4am, 5am, and 2:30pm from various parts around Coral Gables and South Miami, and they're always there either 10 minutes early or right on time. The cabs are clean, the service is kind, and there's no obnoxious smells or loud music or sweltering heat. Exactly what you want from a cab!
In response to the negative post, since the owner hasn't gotten on here to answer himself, I do believe it is rather honest and forthright if he points out ahead of time that it's going to be a longer route because of the ProBowl and marathon (which was ridiculous with traffic - all locals stayed home and my friends that live on the Beach told me they couldn't get off the Beach at all). It definitely was a shitty day to drive anywhere in Miami, so try to be a bit more understanding. That's not the fault of the taxi driver or the company. -

I've been using Coral Gables Taxi for about 10 years. They are basically like a private car service. You call ahead, schedule a pick up and, without fail, they are there...on time, or earlier. usually earlier. Coral Gables Taxi ROCKS! As for the negative comment on here, a lot of us locals would agree that we "hate going into south beach".

Great on time service! Flat rate to the airport. Business traveler's dream... I called for an appointment in the morning and scheduled a pick up for later that afternoon. I requested a taxi that would accept credit cards and the dirver was prepared. The driver was early and called me at my scheduled time when he did not see me exiting the building. This was excellent services, as I have had to wait with other serivces. Flat rate to the airport was exactly as quoted on the phone. Would DEFINITELY use again.
