What could be more Canadian than a bar full of toque-topped Yelpers and Tweeters? The variety of toques was a sight to be seen! Evidently there's a lot you can learn about a person from the type of toque they choose to adorn themselves with... From the carefree critter caps to the whimsical striped toques all manner of folk flocked to this Tweetgasm to mix and mingle.
A great time was had by all, especially at the photo booth run by Paul Hillier. He beautifully captured some very dynamic and hilarious moments!
Thanks so much to Natalie and Vivek for hosting! -

So here we are again.A Yelp event & I. I had not seen her in a while and wondered if she would embrace me the same. Facing each other on opposite sides, I strolled in with my lucky( Lucky because I haven't lost it yet. I loose gloves, socks , rings but this guy has been with me since I was 16 and it's easy to put on so whatevs - lucky)
Anyhoot.
Every time I wanna leave, something keeps pulling me back, me back. Telling me "I need you in my life"...bringing me to the tall made-for-giants doors of Gladstone.
I had heard wonderful things of this place but never got around to visiting WestSide.
Walking in, the front desk almost knew - pointed to another set of tall made-for-giants door into the Melody Bar. The bar has an open space atmosphere that, unlike most bars, doesn't have people crowding the bar or the front. But right in the middle. Sort of dispersed equally like a perfect sprinkle job. A long table stood parallel to the bar where lighting and stools were avail to the chatting and mingling of new & old yelpers.
I didn't recognise Vivek at first (did you get a tan?) shortly after realising he grew a more substantial amount of facial hair. Ah. Maybe its an eyebrow thing - but for the male populace. Welcoming me like an old chum, I met Natalie T that provided me with the instructions to the game. To collect names of tweeters/yelpers that have done/not done a set of random things.
I had the privilege of meeting Anita K , being at her first Yelp event.
It was nice to meet more lovely people I hadn't met before. Everyone I bumped into was super friendly and chatted away. The game was a great ice breaker!
I couldn't stay for long because my lovely therapist kept calling, upset that I had bailed on our session (true story) - I tried to tell her about how important it was for me to attend a union of beer & toque but she wasn't having it. Hence the dashing out. Either way the marriage event was a funky idea. Digital Air fives going out to Capitano Ving-OH.
Fun scientific fact : I learnt that " I've never been on a street car" offers equivalent if not more attention than " I'm a virgin" does. Interesting.
Until next time yelpers.
Vivek - I live in Mississauga + I have a car - Never seeing the inside of a streetcar = true story.

Had a great time at the event and even won myself a new toque courtesy of Roots Canada!
As per usual for both Yelp events and tweetups the feel of the place was open and friendly. An overall great atmosphere.
Aside from the awesome pictures that were put up from the event by Paul here: http://www.facebook.co...
Rannie also put up a bunch on his blog under the title "TWEETGASM : COOL HAND TOQUE" here: http://www.photojunkie... -

Tweetgasm! Lots of fun to see yelpers and tweeple (yes, these are words) boozing together in the Gladstone's amazing Melody Bar. I saw some pretty rad toques last night but I must shout out the following:
Lauren O - monkey toques are always cute
Nicole H - R2D2 toque (and matching shirt!)
Dan L - Great striped number
Noel D - kicking it fake old school
I met some yelpers I had not met before like Anita K, Emily H and The Real Bohemian (Tom)! Thanks be to Natalie T for co-hosting (thank her here: http://www.yelp.ca/use...) Roots for the sweet prizes, Paul Hillier for running the photobooth, and ASP for printing those Yelp-O cards for us (http://www.yelp.com/bi...).
And Myrem D, is it true? Have you never been on a streetcar before? This needs investigating.Listed in: Not Easily Categorized

Loved this event! It's not often that I get to combine my love for Twitter with my love for Yelp. Got to meet some great Tweeps, as well as hang with my favorite Yelp crew... not to mention the after-nosh at Piola was a good time.
Thanks to Vivek and Natalie for being awesome hosts! -

Well, I co-hosted this with Vivek so obviously, I'm going to be biased because we're um AWESOME (and not modest at all...well, me anyways).
VIBE
Fun, relaxed, toque-ish. Non-cliquey. Non-pretentious.
Pete was our wonderful photographer and he made everyone feel comfortable and I'm excited to see the shots he turned out.
Favourite toques included our winner Nicole with her snazzy R2D2 Hat and matching shirt (hat tip to Vivek for the good eye).
Lauren O'Nizzle had a tres cute sock monkey toque
I liked the ones of the pom pom variety (like Rannie Turrigan's of photojunkie fame)
Good effort and thanks for bringing your A-Game.
To Ken - love the near afar puns. Always a jokester you. I think I hit you way too many times with the scarf. In Yo Mouth TO.
There were way too many people to mention but if you met me, please feel free to add me on my profile here and add me on Twitter to keep in touch. So many lovely, social media minded people in our fair T Dot and I love it when we can come together and do good things.
WE ATE
I actually did eat here before the event started. I had salmon and it was dee-lish! Of course, the bartenders here work hard and there was plenty of Heineken and Rickards on tap.
OBLIGATORY CATCHY REMARK
Toked and stoked on toques
It was my first time hosting an event in front of a microphone and I'm not usually comfortable with that so thanks for being so supportive!Listed in: Unique Toronto

Woot! Great location for a super fun event! I always love meeting people for the first time IRL, and getting to know some other people even better!
Networking can sometimes be awkward, but the bingo style game made things super easy and fun!
Big ups to my man V for organizing such a good time!!! -

This was a really fun event. It was great to meet some new Yelpers and Tweeters. Thanks Vivek and Natalie for hosting this. The TV with the live twitter feed was a super idea!
