Review from NY B.
Coquitlam, BC
I am a UBC student, and I love this place lol. Blue chip at UBC does have its merits: its closeness to the campus, the thick melting chocolate when you break open a cookie.. Yum.
But Cookies of course, not only does it accept groupons, it's TAX-INCLUDED.
Omg, $12 means you PAY $12--not $13.44, but "$12."
As a student, I love this.
I couldn't eat the cookies right away like many recommended, but even after 5 hours they tasted great--crispy and chewy mm-mm-mm.
Will definitely be back when I'm in the vicinity. -

Soft on the inside and crusty on the outside... .just like me! I used a groupon since it was someone's birthday at work to grab 2 dozen cookies here. I got the chocolate chunk and the butterscotch pecan, and both were super yummy, and not overwhelmingly sweet or rock hard. The staff were super nice and were quick to assist me, and let me know if I wanted to mix more different types of cookies in my order I could do that. I decided to keep it simple, otherwise I would have to taste test 5 different kinds as opposed to just two.
I do find groupons misleading, its only my second time using them and because you pay for half of the cost of the item you are about to purchase, when you finally use the groupon at the location you forget, oh wait, I already paid for $7 worth of cookies, so now that I am paying another $10, its not as cheap as I thought in my mind when I was only paying $10. So really I got 24 cookies for $17, which is kinda pricey. The cookies are well worth the price, as I don't think I have been anywehere where the cookies were not grossly oversized and oversweetened, except Cookies of Course. They really do make the perfect cookie. -

Hands down the best cookie I've had in Vancouver so far. I wasn't expecting anything fantastic, but I was blown away! The texture, the thickness, and a dollar! I should have got more :P
The price depends on the weight, and it's not like they're huge, but oh wow, the normal choc chip cookie I had was fantastic. And it's not far from work...This has suddenly become a very dangerous place for me! -

Blimey ... if you have have a weakness for fresh baked goods, I beg of you, do not enter Harbour Centre by the north door. The diabolically good smell of cookies hits you as soon as you walk in that door, and you cannot even help but pass the humble little stand.
Do not make the same mistake I did. Do not resist, even if you're going to a seminar, where much-inferior baked goods will be served. Cookies of Course bakes up the basic varieties, like my Granny makes, oatmeal raisin, choco chip, peanut butter, with smarties or triple chocolate for fun - and they bake them throughout the day. And if they're not made from scratch, they sure do taste like it. (As I write this I'm eating an Oatmeal Raisin .... gah! Moist and crispy all at once.)
Just thinking about walking into that cookie-aroma cloud is getting me thinking of another excuse to go downtown ... to um, work. Or something.
PS Grandma I still love you.Listed in: One on the town

Ever since a guy brought these cookies to a party and all the girls crowded around him like white on rice, I've been hooked. No longer will I go to the grocery store and pick up a box of oreos, no longer will I be satisfied with pillsbury, not when I know there's a delicious fresh-baked cookie joint in downtown Vancouver.
If I'm ever in need for something to bring to any dinner party, I stop by here on my way home from work (or on a Saturday afternoon). Even at the end of the day the cookies are still soft and gooey on the inside. I love that they're chunky as well, not flattened out but stacked like a little single serving cake!
They've always got a good mix of cookies available, as well as some special ones for the day. Today it was an almond cookie (for Chinese New Year), and it was the best one out of the whole bunch. It had a very fragrant almond flavour and I kind of wish I had bought a whole dozen of them! The cookies are decently priced as well - 85c a cookie or $11 for a dozen. Totally worth it if you're wanting some amazing melt in your mouth cookies.
Great for parties, or... great for the husband, who's since eaten 8 of the dozen I just picked up. Guess I'll have to find something else for tonight's potluck.... -

Cookies. I used to get one every time I had to come down here, but now that I work out of the downtown office, that could get dangerous.
Nonetheless, these are the best cookies in the world. I brought a box of a dozen ($11 incl tax) to a dinner party tonight and as usual they were a hit.
They also sell cupcakes, at $4 apiece. They're okay. The cookies are where it's at. -

I visited today with my Groupon in hand - two dozens cookies for a mere $9 (I love you, Groupon!). So, due to this, I can't really comment on the normal cookie prices.
The service was super friendly and prompt, explaining how the Groupon would work and even an offered an option where I could get one dozen now and one dozen later. Perfect!
The cookies themselves are thick, tender, and FRESH. Each cookie was still somewhat warm and came straight from the baking sheet. I enjoyed the chocolate chip, and cherry chocolate chip, but loved the butterscotch/pecan.
I can hardly wait to pick up my next dozen! -

* The Thrilla with Vanilla *
Crap. Chocolate chip doesn't rhyme with Thrilla. But there is Vanilla in most cookies, right?!?!?!?!
Throwdown between Cookies of Course and Blue Chip (aka SFU vs. UBC):
Round 1: Variety - slight edge to Blue Chip for their marbelous, and smarties flavours. Cookies of Course has the standards like chocolate chip, oatmeal raisin, etc.
Round 2: Freshness - 9 times out of 10 Blue Chip are still warm from the oven. I've never had a fresh from the oven at Cookies of Course - I clearly am not there at the right time of day. Edge to Blue Chip.
Round 3: Price - Cookies of Course makes smaller cookies so they are less expensive. Probably around the same price by weight. But (gasp) the smaller size is enough to satisfy. Edge to Cookies of Course.
Round 4: Taste - Cookies of Course are good and I certainly wouldn't turn one down. But Blue Chip are excellent. Blue Chip delivers a knock out punch here.
So in a 4 round match-up "We have a winner - Blue Chip!" Ding Ding Ding!

It's time to write my 700th review. I've actually been putting it off because I wanted to make this one about a stand out business that I enjoy patronizing rather than about some awful place that I think you should avoid. I do try to avoid Cookies of Course, but not because they are awful. Today, I was reminded how much I love this place. Their Chocolate Decadence cookie is probably one of my favourite cookies of all time especially when they are fresh out of the oven. Somehow they manage to make it really chocolately without being overly sweet. It's perfection, I tell you. I've tried some of their other varieties and they are good, but not as awesome as good ol' Chocolate Decadence.
Tip #1: They accept debit cards, but if you spend less than $3 you'll be charged 10 cents. You could go to the bank machine by the SFU bookstore for cash, but it'll charge you a few bucks, so you are probably better of coughing up the 10 cents or just buying an extra cookie or two (you're friends will thank you).
Tip #2: If you want more cookies for your money, ask if they have any broken ones. They sell the less than perfect looking ones for a discount, but your tastebuds won't know the difference.
Tip #3: Bring your own tumbler/mug for a discount on your coffee.
Tip #4: If you are an SFU student, check out the Information Desk on the main floor for discount coupons to Cookies of Course.
Tip #5: The food options in Harbour Centre are pretty abysmal so if you are hungry, have a cookie :)Listed in: Lunch Downtown

Today, I decided to try:
1. Oatmeal and Raisin Cookie
2. Peanut Butter and Milk Chocoalte
The Oatmeal and Raisin tasted very typical, and I wouldn't say it wowed me, but the PBMC cookie was rich and delicious. It resembled a Reeses peanut but with large chocoalte chunks!
I do wish I bought another Chocolate Decadent cookie.. mMMM ooo the chocolate :)1 Previous Review: Show all »

I've come to the conclusion that I'm not allowed to be in the same building as Cookies of Course.
The ooey gooey ways of their cookies are haunting me, sending me straight into a fantasy where I am floating on a cloud with cookie in one hand a pint of milk in the other -_-
Since my craving arrived during the late afternoon, I expected some stale cookie edges (and even that didn't stop me) but they were still warm and chewy - oh Lord help me if it ever rains cookies! Hallelujah!
Dammit Cookies of Course, how is a woman supposed to work when I'm constantly occupied either eating your cookies of daydreaming of them?

It's hard to order anything but the cookies here. Cookies are what they do- they have the same basics everyday (chocolate chip ,extra chocolate chunk, peanut butter...), and then they also make specialty cookies- different ones on different days. So it pays to come here all the time, so you don't miss any of your favorites. Of the specialty varieties I've been particularly impressed with the dark chocolate cranberry, and vegan chocolate chip oatmeal.
They have muffins and scones here too- but who has time for those with all these cookies around? -

This cookie place is also a coffee shop and I think survives the tough times a small business can come across because of its location. It's situated in the Harbour Centre in the same building that connects to the food courts and the walk-way to SFU, The corner shop sells organic coffees, muffins and of course, cookies. I think I've had better cookies at for example Cookies by George or Capers, so unless I am craving a cookie and happen to be passing by I would not go and specifically get a cookie here.
