Now that the sun is out again and the ground has dried up some, I get to fall in love with Confederation Park all over again. While this used to be my go-to park for a run, I've been a bit too far away to enjoy it for that the last couple of years.

But finding myself in need of a change of scenery (and a break from my day), I scuttled over here this morning for a quick jog down exercise lane.

It was a wonderful morning, and this park will only get better as summer rolls in.

It's a great spot to find a tree or picnic table with your book, to have a lusciously green background for your wedding photos, to take an afternoon or evening stroll through or grab your frisbee to toss back and forth with a friend and has just enough hills to challenge you a bit but without feeling like you've just run up the two hundred or so stairs over by Memorial Drive.

Confederation Park brings back so many memories for me. It's the park I frequented most growing up and I've spent a good part of my life feeding the ducks here in the summer and tobogganing in the winter.

Coming in at a stunning 400 acres of green space, Confederation Park is located in N.W. Calgary between the neighbourhoods of Mount Pleasant, Capitol Hill, Collingwood and Highland Park.

The park has got everything from picnic tables, bicycle paths, tennis courts and baseball diamonds, all the way to luscious wetlands, eye-catching nature and awe-inspiring wildlife.

It's most well-known for hosting the spectacular Lions Club Christmas Light Display during the winter months and considering it's adjacent to The Confederation Park Golf Course, it is just as popular during the summer months.
