DELIVERY! Found this place on Eat24Hours...really great! Loved their super taco (mmmm) price is also decent.
HOWEVER...one star off because we ordered super taco a second night (obsessed with this place) and they forgot the avocado/sour cream on the ENTIRE order. Boo. Thankfully, Eat24Hours gave us credit back. Sad about this, don't order from here as much :( -

Best Mexican food delivery (within my grubhub range!). Free delivery, awesome food and good prices.
Not the best to go eat on site but this is for delivery only :) -

Ugghh. We ordered New Year's day afternoon. The burritos were too salty and they had sent the hamburger out for delivery with the mayonnaise and ketchup already on it and it was a soggy, inedible, disgusting mess by the time we got it. Maybe in the store is one thing, but for delivery, no way.
And note to the restaurant: The customer can always add their own salt but it's impossible to take it out when there's too much. -

I ordered through Eat24 and they took TWO HOURS and missed an item from my order. The food showed up cold and it was bland. Go in a different direction, not worth it.

The food from this restaurant is very much in the eye of the beholder. I can see how some people would love it and others might not.
I'll try to describe it so you can decide for yourself.
For decades 've traveled all over the Mexican states of Quntana Roo and Yucatan. Yucatan Mexican food is very close to its Mayan roots. Its my favorite and I know it very well.
The food could be described as "budget authentic". Prices are very low, as is the sophistication. Actually it is generally so authentic that it may not suit the palates of some San Franciscans used to splash and flair masquerading as authentic and humble food.
The white corn tortillas have the rough edges and irregularity of something hand pressed this morning by a little old lady. They have a stony earthy texture and taste.
The "salsa" was closer to pico de gallo Simply some diced tomatoes, onions and a pinch of cilantro, dumped into a plastic sandwich bag (I had delivery). Very plain.
The tacos were very basic but generous. Some diced meat, veggies, guacamole. Some might call it bland, others would call it subtle and satisfying.
The chicken pibil was a real puzzle. Pibil is my all-time favorite. I've had nearly every variation of it Mexico can offer.
What was served up by CY had no resemblance to Pibil whatsoever. it was a chicken drumstick sitting in a soup. Could they have served me the wrong thing? That aside, it was a hearty chicken soup with good flavor.
All in all, this is the hearty basic food you would find in a little hole-in-the-wall restaurant in one of the dusty towns on the road to Isla Holbox, frequented by the faithful locals who know they can get something decent to eat for not a lot of money.
You might love it, or you might find the romance of the idea is more appetizing the the actuality of it. It will depend on your tastes. -

So Delicious!
Very friendly staff and service.
The tamales - all three types - are fantastic and so are the Panuchos and Salibutes. Get the shredded beef of those - the chicken is not as good. (People say the pork is as good or better than the beef, but I don't eat pork so I can't vouch for that.)
Super veggie burritos are also very good.
You can get this food delivered by calling or using a few different online services (GrubHub, Seamless, Eat24Hours...) and the delivery is always prompt. -

Been ordering from this place occasionally for the past year. I'm from Mexico City originally. Been here since I was 9, I'm now 41.
I love this place. I always order the same thing, and it's always awesome, grubby, generous. And friendly and always on time.
Haven't ordered burgers or whatnot, but why would you? I'm sure they're good but give me Pollo Pibil, beans, and those beautiful tortillas, that always last for my breakfast huevos and salsa.
Awesome! -

We ordered burritos for delivery and they were so bad we ended up throwing them out. (I've never thrown out a burrito before.)

Oh comida yucatan, how many times have you saved the lives of me and my starved san francisco roommates on a hungover lazy Sunday afternoon??
super cheap prices, no weird delivery restrictions like how thai places won't deliver til after 5 on a Sunday, food is great and hasn't been dipped in grease and they're very friendly on the phone.
I've never been to the physical location because I'd probably never eat their food again but honestly, everything from the cheeseburger to the burrito to the salads are great. -

So this is pretty much one of the only options for a delivered burrito, and I guess its a serviceable one although not optimal by any means.
First, the "meh" stuff--the pork used in the pork burrito was just bad. It had so much fat I could barely get a real chunk of pork; I know how pork works, I expect a little fat here and there, but comeon, this is like what I would trim off and feed to my dog. It was pretty damn bad. And the burritos came with lettuce even though I said to not put it on there, which of course doesnt really mesh well with a hot, grilled burrito.
The shredded beef on the other hand was pretty decent, and the rest of the burrito is OK--certainly not on your average taqueria level but about as good as Chipotle, and cheaper. The salsa is OK, the guac is OK, the rice is OK, you get the idea. And it is big, which is nice
I'd probably give this place two stars because the one thing you really cant screw up in a burrito is meat, but since there's at least one decent option and they deliver (did I say they deliver? they deliver, and it's free, and delivered, like to your door) they get three. -

Obviously, for $2.75 a piece, I ordered everything on the menu. They seem famous for the yucatan pork so I was really excited by that, but it was actually the most disappointing meat of the meal. Still, good, but not the best part.
Holy crap, though, I LOVED the chicken empanada. Order all of them if you can. Just call the restaurant and say, "Every chicken empanada you have!" Seriously. So good.
Shredded beef panucho- Also super delicious. You don't have to order all of them, but get a few. -

This place is pretty bomb. Of course I do live right across the street from it, but how picky can you get? The few that work there are always very nice. I've been in twice so far and I feel they already know who I am. I have tried a few of there items including the tacos, tamales and burritos, and I must say the burritos are the winner. They're huge and delicious. Full of rice, beans, chicken, beef, or pork, lettuce, sour cream, avo, cheese, and only around 5 bucks. Can't beat that. The tacos are killer too, very authentic, just the tortilla, meat and and some spices, cilantro, you know the deal. They have this killer green salsa that I seem to never get enough of, but its so good. I must say the tamales are a little lacking. just not to my preference, but that could've been a fluke that night.
No the downsides: Don't use the bathroom. Its kind of like a little door in the place that lead down a stairway into a dungeon thru a hallway, yadda yadda. Just don't bother with it. And sometimes they have quinceneras and parties there every once and a while so you may not get in on a Sunday.
Overall I love the place, its cheap, fast, and they have a rather large menu. I haven't even tried the pizza, burgers, or fish and chips. But when you're at an authentic mexican joint, why do you order pizza anyway? Philistines! Highly recommended. -

Wow. Being from out of town, I went by yelp reviews for this place and was not disappointed. Tacos, pupusa, empanadas...all exceeded my expectations. The corn tortillas were small and fresh. Delivery was less than 45 minutes. We will order here again!

This is a review of food delivered from Comida Yucatan.
This was basic decent Mexican food. Definitely nothing that will stand out. But if you are in the neighborhood or want delivery, you will not go hungry and it is pretty tasty.
Super burrito with chicken
- your basic kitchen sink burrito. i requested no lettuce but they still put lettuce on it. i still enjoyed it.
Taco with chicken
- this was a better than average taco. once again, relatively kitchen sink. but it all came together quite well. if i ever have food from here again, this is what i will order.
Delivery was prompt and polite. -

I would stick with the mexican dishes to try what they do best.
Bonus: They deliver.... which is AWESOME for people who work late... -

it's funny how all of the bad reviewers ate the american or americanized mexican food. Why anyone would go to a place with the name Yucatan in the name and order pizza is beyond me and shows their lack of critical thinking skills (to say the very least). I can only assume these are the same kids who made non-ironic fart jokes when they were in school and order jager bombs chased with long island ice teas at bars *shudder*.
That being said, I've only ordered the Yucatan apps, but all were amazing. The tacos were decent, but it's tough to beat La Palma or Don Pisto's for tacos in this city. I've had the Panuchos, Salibutes, Enpanadas, tamales and tacos. All were awesome, but I think the first three rock. If you're given the choice to get their Poc Chuc with any of the items I mentioned I highly reccomend it 'cause that pork explodes with flavor.
the only negative about this place is I've only done delivery and their $12 minimum is tough to fill up with $2-$3 plates. Not a tough problem to have if you ask me.
So yeah, if you ordered pizza or fish sticks from a Yucatan place offering what appears to be traditional food from the Yucatan, then you deserve to have a bad experience. Shame on you for being an idiot. -
Review from Gary T.
Yucatecan food is its own unique style and is very different from what most people would consider "Mexican" food. It includes influences from the local Mayan culture, as well as Caribbean, Mexican, European (French) and Middle Eastern cultures. So, with that out in the open I have now removed any misconceptions and can go on with my review.
I live across the street from this establishment and it's in the heart of the TL, so expect to see bums, crackheads, junkies, and other flotsam. From the outside it's a very unassuming restaurant and not much on the inside either. You come here for the food not the ambiance or the atmosphere.
The food is excellent especially their Poc Chuc and Cochinita Pibil. They also have Salbutes and Panuchos, Queso Relleno, Pavo en Relleno Negro, and Sopa de Lima. I've tried almost all the Yucatecan items on the menu and have yet to be disappointed. If you're feeling boring, you can always go for a taco. Their salsa is very hot and strong, it will f you up if you're a beginner.
I'm glad I live across the street from such delicious and flavorful food. I will continue my weekly visit to this establishment. -

This place was disappointing. The delivery was fast but the food was hardly palatable.
My burrito was supposed to have extra meat on it (an extra $1),but I was almost glad to have the minuscule amount of dry odd chicken pieces. I found three bones and a few pieces of rubbery fat as I finished three quarters of it. I was really hungry and it was edible but I had to quit eating it after repeated findings. It really is a good thing I was chewing my food well, which can be hard as I am sort of a beast. Haha, but seriously it was so dry and I kept having to pour sauce and put salsa on it. The chicken dish we ordered was also dry. The empanada was comparable to card board. Well this place is cheap and possibly edible (still wouldn't feed it to my dog) but by no means did we enjoy the food. Oh well. Lesson learned. I hope the experience is better dining in the restaurant but I will not eat here regardless. -
Review from Josh K.
It's in the middle of the TL, everything is cheap and actually delicious and they even have things most take-out Mexican joints in the city don't have, like panuchos and empanadas. I was seriously fooled by the abandoned look of the restaurant and the kitchen, but somehow they turn out pretty great stuff. Oh and, who in their right mind would get pizza and burgers here? They're not even factoring into my rating here!

Tacos are huge and cheap. They deliver. You can order online. I'm on my way to being a hermit. With great food delivery option like this, I not only never have to step out of the apartment, I don't even need to talk to anyone (thanks to online ordering!).

The guys here have always been super friendly, I'll order something, go to liquor store for groceries, then food is ready to go when I walk back. Their burgers are pretty awesome, and the pizza is delicious! And, if I'm a couple cents short or if I have no change and only bills to pay, they've told me it's all good on many occasions (nice compared to some places that will either insist on giving you a handful of change after you pay or wont let you order if you are 2 cents short...) Great place, not a whole lot of businesses now look after their regulars, but this place does, I'm always happy to go here and spend money. Definitely recommend it if you live locally or are passing through.

What a surprise!! $2 TACOS TO MURDER FOR!! (And this is the neighborhood to do it.) Drive by this all the time, and just the whole Yucatan AND Pizza AND Burgers (immediately makes me think they don't do anything well). But they are just a restaurant stayin alive in the city - they're main pull is the Yucatan food - in the whole we were there we saw not one burger or one pizza.
Tacos are made on BIGGG handmade tortillas while you wait. The carnitas, chicken and cochinita tacos are not only fabulous but CHEAP (I had a mansize appetite and three of those $2 tacos had me on the floor). We've also tried Poc Chuc and Pollo Pivil, which is like a chicken stew, very good if you were sick. Empanadas are also beyond anything I've ever had called an empanada. I wanted sour cream on it thought but you have to ask as that's not typico. So the neighborhood's not Beverly Hills?
Tortas are fine but I think weren't up to par with the other places. Thank god for the net, I would NEVER have tried this place if I didn't see something on ba.food that directed me to sfgate which then made me check it out on Yelp.
It's the ultimate little divey experience. And such a great breakout from the taqueria track. -

You're brave, right?
You come to 6th to get Tu Lan. Larkin for Saigon. Brenda's for brunch. Even Deli Board on Howard to witness the street theatre.
If so, this place is for you.
Yeah, people are coppin on the corner and folks yell out "five-o!" whenever the police are coming up the block. But Comida Yucatan has some killer eats.
Their burgers are garbage. Fish and chips too. Pizza nasty. BUT, their Mexican food is on point.
Their empanadas (deep fried) are like $2 and bursting with meat or oozing with cheese. Burritos come with black beans and lettuce and make you feel like you're healthy.
However, what you want are the PANUCHOS. A crispy tortilla with a thin layer of refried black beans. On top of that is your choice of meat with the corresponding accoutrements. Each choice of meat gets different toppings. Crazy. Eat it like a taco. Fuck Nick's. these are $2 apiece.
My favorite is the carnitas; this version is a lean cut, grilled and diced. So fucking good. And the staff are friendly and will answer any questions you've got about the menu.
Go here. Then you can brag to your friends how you almost got punched in the face or got pills for mad cheap. -

This small restaurant in a very dicey neighborhood sells pizza, burgers, burritos, fish and chips and Mexican dishes from the Yucatan.
The owner doesn't speak much English but is really nice. I just tried the empanadas which were a little on the lardy side. I liked the cheese better than the chicken. They come with baggies of habenero sauce and thick tomato sauce. -

It's a trick and trap kind of place.
Board says $2 for taco de pollo, $2 for taco de carnitas, and the guy rung me up for $2.25 and $2.50.
If they are dishonest at the cash register, what are they doing in the kitchen? -

NO! This just goes to show that you NEED to see how many people have reviewed a restaurant. I went with a group of friends to this place because it had a good rating. A bunch of us shared pizza, fish sticks, and tacos. It was all mediocre.
Pizza was probably the best, but it was just OK.
The chicken tacos had no flavor and were dry. The Chicken still had skin and I found multiple pieces of gristle in it.
Worst of all was the fish sticks. I took a bite out of one and had to take it out. It was worse than van kemps.
I'm not a picky eater this place... just bad. Avoid at all cost. -

I made the mistake of ordering 2 chicken super tacos from here. The tacos gave me food poisoning. I even had to take two days off from work. I'll never eat here again.

San Francisco, CA
Its definitely in a sketchy neighborhood and scary looking folks loiter outside, but the food is worth it. I had an amazing shredded beef taco and a crispy empanada. Delicious. The tortas were also superb. Its clean, cheap, and has amazing spicy green salsa. Definitely a place to return to. Just a note- there is one cook who makes everything to order, so expect a short wait.

this place is right down the street from my job so i frequent it pretty often. it's soooo cheap!! a turkey burger (yummy) a decent serving of some good fries and a soda for 6 bucks!! it's a deal!! you gotta give it a try!! what do you want inthe middle of the tenderloin people?!
