Belmont, CA
very nice place with excellent view of the falls (depends on which room you get), a wonderful breakfast! For $65 it is well worth it (offcourse it was off-season when we went there).
Has wired internet connection, which helped me a lot. -
Review from Mike P.
Broadview Heights, OH
Ive had high hopes for this place. Comfort Inn's website made this place sound better than winning eight figures in the lottery. I decided to go for it and make the reservations.
Finding this place was a real challenge for me and my UPDATED GPS. Prospect Pointe wasn't even the name of the street- it was Main Street, or something along those lines.
The claim made by the Comfort Inn website 'so close to the falls that you can feel the mist' is true. Ive seen and felt the mist. You can even hear the falls when you open the window to your room, though my room faced the parking lot.
The best thing about this hotel is that its walking distance to Niagara Falls State Park and to Canada. The surrounding Niagara Falls USA doesn't have much and dining options are very limited. The hotel offers free continental breakfast, but I wouldn't recommend it, especially when I see MILK attempting to be kept cold in a pitcher sitting on top of ice.
The staff at the front desk were friendly and helpful and got me off to a good start.
Once in my room, I noticed many things wrong. Under the bed was garbage. In the bathroom, there were stray pieces of hair. Some of the lights in the room did not work- thankfully I had enough lights for my needs but come on. The electric hair dryer in the bathroom did not work. The night light in the bathroom, which I didn't need, did not work. The TV was a little dusty and didn't have Speed Channel. The carpet was not vacuumed in some parts. Last but not least, the drain to the bathtub was slow!!!!!!
The room seemed very worn out, very used up, and ready for updating or possibly a remodel.
The parking lot was too small and too few spaces. When I arrived Sunday morning I was lucky to find a few open spaces!
Thankfully the in room coffee machine worked, there was plenty of hot water, and the air conditioner worked. The free WiFi also worked.
Certainly NOT worth the $125.00 per night I paid. I cant believe this place is full house during most of the Summer. Next time I come to Niagara Falls I'm going to stay on the Canadian side. This is an outrage!
Oh yes, one more thing to watch out for- daffy tourists who are rude, have no manners and no sense of American and Canadian culture. Then again, many American and Canadian tourists were the same way. Don't let these bastards ruin your day. I didn't.Listed in: Niagara Falls, USA and Canada
