Art galleries up in cottage country are few and (literally) far between, making the Coldwater Gallery a rare find, just off Highway 12 and 400. Its bright, open gallery space has been converted from an old bank, and there's even a bit of exhibition space tucked away in what used to be the vault--vaulted ceiling and everything.
They show contemporary works not only by locals, but by artists from the GTA and even from out-of-province. The best time to go is on weekends, especially when there's a new opening; they serve wine & cheese in the back room which looks out onto the Coldwater River.
