Cold Comfort ice cream. This is one of those times when I almost don't want to share such an incredible gem. The adorable Autumn is a one woman show and makes ice cream and ice cream sandwiches. As I write this I know nothing I can say would make anyone understand how talented she is and how mind blowingly awesome her products are. I won't used the words creamy, delectable, delicate, intricate or even dreamy to describe her creations. Nothing will work. One just needs to indulge on their own accord and then they will know. They will be introduced to a new level of ice cream. She uses mostly local, in season, organic ingredients. She has a wild imagination of what she should create next. The flavours are ever changing from week to week. She sells out of her car boot at the Moss Street Market on Saturdays. This last weekend I enjoyed her root beer ice cream sandwich and took home a pint of Cafe Fantastico ice cream with dark chocolate chunks.

I feel I may be making a grave error sharing this invaluable information. I can't help myself though. I want to shout it from a mountaintop.

Oh Christine! tisk tisk! this actually IS one of those gems you keep to yourself. Autumn already sells out regularly, I don't want any more competition to the supply! Everything Christine C says is absolutely true, Autumns creations are just phenomenal. Delicious art in pint size containers (and ice cream sandwiches and more). I won't describe any of the varieties I've had as so many are one time or once in a blue moon creations and if I went on in delectable detail to tell you all about them, you may be crushed to find that they weren't around the next time you visit. Just trust me when I say that if you see one that you think you'll like, you won't like it... you'll absolutely love it and be disappointed any time you buy ice cream/sorbet/etc virtually anywhere else. Cold Comfort has been a local secret treasure for a while now but I guess it's time for a wider audience. DO NOT MISS OUT!
