Having taken many a trip to the lumber yard with my Dad when I was young, I'm pretty at home in a hardware store. Coe Lumber is nothing special. They do try to cover quite a few bases and their lumber yard is pretty extensive considering it's smack-dab in the middle of urban West Broadway.
I've successfully purchased paint, rebar, wood, scrapers, sand-paper, and the usual screws and nails here. When I priced out a lumber project I was really surprised at the high cost, although I haven't purchased enough lumber to know if it was out-of-line or not.
The customer service has always been great, and I've never been treated poorly here. I also hugely appreciated it when they let me switch up some blackboard paint I'd purchased and then lost the receipt for.
I guess Coe Lumber really only loses a star because I've often dropped by on a Sunday to find them closed. Yeah, I know they close at 4:30 now, but there's nothing like a looming Monday to inspire some Sunday evening motivation in me! A 6pm close would change my world. -

Very helpful staff, polite and knowledgable, convenient location. From work supplies to a kid's wheelbarrow for my daughter's birthday, great selection.
