The tight narrow alleyway-like patio is what makes this club. It can get extremely crowded but it is a nice place to chill with your buddies and make new friends. Easy-going compared to other clubs. The crowd is diverse, and they all seem confident on their own without trying too hard to impress others. But of course, this is King street. The party-goers here are more mature than Richmond crowd. And girls at Cobra seemed very interesting to talk to. They were very willing to engage in conversations, and party together. Overall, the patio is a great place that doubles as a bar and a refugee from dance floor.
Oh, the dance floor. It's just basically a.... basement. For real. You have to go down the stairs. And it looks and feels like a basement. Very square-ish room with DJ in the center doing his things. Well, it's a dance club anyways no matter how it looks. So dance your night away! Music is techno and pop remixes in general. -

I honestly don't know how I end up at these places.I was here on a Wednesday of all days. I'm too old for this shit. Why do people in their late 20's still come to this?
I guess I would give this place a 3.3.
*Another club that is the size of a basement but this is a nicely decorated basement. *The drinks are around $7 like most clubs. Bartenders are nice enough and efficient.
*The DJ is average. Nothing memorable or mind-blowing. Occasionally horrible (cough dubstep cough)
*Crowd is quite all-over the place from hippie-looking chicks to men in suits. There's less of the obvious sluts in tiny dresses during winter. People are more casual
*Unisex bathrooms but it just isn't done well here. It's confusing and dirty.
*The cover after 12 was $10. Not worth it on a Wednesday for Cobra.
*No line
Overall, this place is only marginally better than a lot of Toronto clubs as the crowd is chill and the bartenders are good but I wouldn't go out of my way to come here. This is a decent like...5th choice in terms of Toronto's clubs. And get in before cover - it's not worth it. -

Ive been to Cobra numerous times...various nights. Wednesday is industry night, Thursday is house music nights and Fridays is regular.
The Z list promotes Wednesdays. Everyone free before 12 under Z lists guestlist!
Thursdays, They have resident Djs and special guests all the time.
The washrooms are unisex. Usually the women go on the left and the men on the right but generally they dont care too much.
The bar has pretty quick service, one on each end of the club. The dj is in the middle front on your right when you walk inside and coat check is on your left. You have to bend a bit to talk to the lady inside dealing with the jackets.
The crowd is hipsters in the 20s, late 30s and some suits in there too. Good looking generally. The patio is connected/divided with the Brant house Patio so except to have some older mature guy smiling and checking you out while you have a smoke or going for a breathe of fresh air.
The club is generally pretty dark unless the light coordinates with the song beat and it will be flashing on and off. The ceilings are pretty low with 2 big bottle service tables/sofas right in the middle of the dance floor, not really smart thinking on whoever decided that lol so if you get bottle service. lots of drunk people will be sitting at your table or jumping on the sofas touching the ceilings(its like a must do if your really wasted at cobra, its like they expect it LOL) -

I checked out Cobra most recently on a Thursday night for a visiting DJ. It was for the most part a very pleasant experience, especially by the shady standards of Electro music in Toronto.
The duo selected to open for the main show were Dzeko and Torres, two up and coming Toronto DJs who did a great job warming the crowd up, and kudos to Cobra for letting these guys do their thang!
There was little in terms of trouble/lines to get in, even though there were a decent number of people already inside. That being said the club did not get too overpacked, and the crowd seemed like a mixed level of level headed enthusiasts (paradox?!), typical King St. partygoers, and some slightly older financial district types.
Would definitely return for the Thursday nights or special lineups. Not sure about normal nights. -

ok maybe i'm a little too old now, but perhaps for those reviewers reading this who are older then lets say 26, this might be interesting to you.
For all the others, i'm sorry.
Music: Wicked
Decor: Basement after christmas
Prices: not worth the ambience
Cover: $20 that isn't worth it but weeds out a certain type of crowd
Bartenders: Hot
So you get good music and good crowd at Cobra, but the place just doesn't work for me. It's kinda small, it's in a basement and it's dark and dingy. It's trying to be the century for young ppl, but it's just missing that cool factor.
Needless to say, it is a popular place because the bouncers let anyone in who can pay and look somewhat dressy. also, if drugs are your thing, this place is open late.Listed in: I wouldn't do that if i were…

What up, Co-Brah?
It was a friends birthday so we got free cover and line by-pass with no fuss. Well, almost no fuss. The boys had to go home and change so beware! Men: wear a collared shirt and no sneakers. I'll quote the bouncer, "White laces? You're killing me". Anywho, no trouble for the ladies.
You go down to the basement and first things first, check your coat. I don't know whose idea it was to have ONE person working Saturday night to accommodate the coat-y needs of an entire club in the dead of winter but it was not a good choice. The waits were long to get them in and out. But after that and a quick stop to the unisex washroom, we were on the way to the main event.
The room is a great open space but the lower ceilings make it seem more intimate. A good sized dance floor that's sunken in (watch your step!) that is surrounded by various booths and bars. The show-stopper was the LED-light-filled rooftop that moved along with each song. It sometimes left the crowd in complete darkness or everything would come on, very fun! The patio/alley was also a pretty great spot to come up, cool off and talk.
As far as the crowd was, everyone was really nice! It was someone else's birthday and they had no trouble inviting a bunch of us to wave around sparklers and have some Grey Goose with them, NBD. The boys on the dance floor were only mildly creepy. Everyone just seemed to be there for the right reasons.
I also really liked the music, very good for dancing to. Yes, I think that definitely makes or breaks a night with Danielle F. I will definitely be back!Listed in: ROTD'ed

amaaaaaaazzingggg!!
So last night it was a last minute decision. Going off of a few peoples recommendations, me and my girlfriends took a chance.
end of the night = WOW. Very happy I went here , and secretly Ive been looking for a place like this.
Small joint with a heavy industry crowd.
The music is a lot of trance and a little bit of dubstep, which was fantastic. I assume there is always live DJ's so that should add to the "new"ness of it every other wed??
Staff is VERY snooty and LOTS of boob implant- barbie dolls.
It seems that Wednesdays are when the movers&shakers decide to grace Toronto with their presence at Cobra. Thus, barbie doll bartenders and endless "suite's" hanging around the bar.
If your there for the music, your WELL in luck. Lots of cool people that share the music love doing their own thing on the dance floor.
( NOTE ) Its also a place for gold diggers and girls desperate for male attention/sugar daddy's. You WILL notice alot of that going around. (The place is small)
DJ is right at the front so you can really see the spinning action; you'll know if its just a few remixed tracks playing in the back.
The entrance is a bit creepy and the stairs are not heel friendly, so ladies, BE CAREFUL
The bathroom is unisex (which isn't the greatest) and its on the far right side of the bar.
The place itself is dark and sketchy but its perfect for the "Indie /Industry/Underground" type of atmosphere.
The dance floor is small and is a semi circle type of shape, with the back end facing the DJ tall Boothe and the semi circle area filled with booths to sit or have bottle service.
Overall, if ur not too concerned with crowd, have a cool outfit you want to be creative with, love to zone out in your own corner with dirty beats... this is the place.
p.s 3 corona's comes up to $21.
not sure about cover.

was here for a visiting DJ on a thursday night and can state with full confidence that i will not be coming here again. the DJ was awesome - that is the only pleasant memory of the night. now let's see
1. coat check took, NO JOKE, 40 minutes.... really??
2. the ratio of guy to girl was approx 10-1. that just a bit toooo uneven
3. it's in a basement. with LOW ceilings. stuffy.
4. it.is.small. and consequently gets really hot, really quickly, from all the dancing bodies
5. drinks are not really that much more expensive than anywhere else actually
6. bathrooms are way too small and way too disgusting
to reiterate - besides the dj, there was NOTHING else to enjoy. unless they improve on most aspects, just go somewhere else.
p.s. the outside looks really cool though! maybe that is what they lure you in with -
Review from Hoang N.
Great music. Mark Angeli was there the night I went. We had bottle service behind the DJ. Smoking area up stairs was spacious and had lots of heatlamps so it wasn't cold. Loved the bar in the smoking area because it was not as crowded.
Bathrooms were unisex and there was TV's in each stall! Woahhh -

This is a small bar/club found on the King St W strip just West of Spadina.
I checked it out on special night Friday and therefore cannot say how this place is on a regular Friday night but I was very happy with this place from what I saw.
The main room is in the basement level and it gives the place an intimate feel. A low ceiling which is covered with tiny lights that turn on and off in interesting patterns. The rest of the lighting is nice and not overpowering for the size of the space.
Sound was good if you like your tunes really loud.
The service staff was very friendly starting from the door people all the way to the bartenders and servers.
I definitely recommend checking this place out.Listed in: The Places I Go Out

Cobra is a great club! I've been waiting for a place like this for a long time.
Being totally bored by most of the city's current nightclub options I was very impressed with the Cobra experience on Friday night.
The level of service by the staff from doorman to table attendant / waitress was amazing. Our group was well taken care of from start to finish.
The sound system is tight, loud and clear, the lights on the roof and room add to the revelry in a unobtrusive way and the clientele seemed to be respectable with no drama throughout the entire night.
The only drawback was at times a 15 minute wait to use the washroom - however it was a special guest night so I suspect the extra numbers made this more of a one-off concern.
I will be back. Fantastic nightclub. -
