Bah! A little torn...should I really give 4stars? My issue really is that it's all relative.
Do I expect a lot from a kinda run of the mill hotel? No. I expect it to be clean and professional and cover the basics. That, the CBI has. BUT my room is actually pretty sweet and modern. The bathroom really clean and also with new fixtures.
It is definitely above and beyond a regular hotel...they have made an effort to up the anti and i have to give them props.
So there it is...4 stars. -

The rooms look great! However, the beds are horrible. They need a service elevator, I don't want to share with a mop bucket. Great location. 5th visit. Nicest place in Nanaimo possibly.

Recently renovated rooms, most with 32" flat panels, great decorations and helpful staff.
The gym is adequate, just join the Cost Rewards and you get some perks off the bat.
Same price as some older places in Nanaimo like the Best Western Dorchester and the rooms are better.
