I did not receive a change in my prescription at my last eye exam, but my optometrist suggested that I change to progressives instead of using a pair of glasses for reading and a second pair for my astigmatism.

I have expensive taste in frames and already have quite a few dollars tied up in my current glasses so I wasn't sure if I was willing to put in well over $1000 for yet another pair of eyeglasses, the lens style of which I was unfamiliar with and not sure if I would like.

Clearly Contacts made the decision to try out progressives very easy.  They have a reasonable selection of designer frames, the ability to upload your picture so you can virtually try on eyeglasses, online real- time support, and prices so inexpensive that they will blow your mind.

I opted for some Jil Sander frames, the upgrade to their thinnest, best quality lens with all of the anti scratch, anti glare, UV protection put on, for a little over $200!  Their 365 money back guarantee made my decision 100% risk free. They also managed to get my glasses to me a few days earlier than promised.

I still really like the style of some of the more expensive frames that one only finds at places like Bruce's http://www.yelp.ca/biz... or out of the country, but I view this pair as my training progressives. I eventually might choose to drop the big bucks if these work out okay, but to make a car analogy, most people don't choose a Bentley as their first car either.

    I love Clearly Contacts.

I am usually a contacts lens wearer but I had to refrain from wearing contacts for a while, and then wear them less frequently (not 12+ hours a day haha)...that's why I started buying my glasses off of here and contacts as well. Actually come to think about it I started buying my contacts first, and then started buying my glasses.

The contacts are contacts...if you know the order via your optometrist, it's straight forward, you just plug in your prescription and they'll arrive, and of course are much cheaper then what you pay in office.

    For the glasses...
I have bought 3 pairs, and if you can believe it were they were less expensive then two pairs (sunglasses and prescription glasses) that I own from a conventional glasses store...yes all 3 of them.
The first pair I bought I am in love with! I have gotten compliments from so many people, even though I was iffy about wearing glasses. The second pair was okay, and the third was too big for my face even though I thought it would fit. If you already have a pair of glasses, they should have their measurements somewhere (receipt, in store, online) and that will help you find your glasses on CC that much easier.

    (+)

    * You have a 365 day refund policy on glasses...I went to refund two, and it was simple. You call them and they send you the refund slip(s) via e-mail, where you attach the slip to the box and ship it back to their address. The man said it will take 2-4 weeks to process a refund, and they will send you a e-mail telling you when they have processed it
    * Much, much cheaper then buying your glasses and contacts in store...but the lens adds to the fees by a great deal
    * If you live in Vancouver or surrounding areas, it's very easy to connect with customer service as it's local
    * Customer service is very helpful
    * Since they are local, I have had my order in 2 days

    (-)

    * I wish they had more selection in glasses (not everyone likes massive, hipster frames..)
    * I wish they had more stock in certain pairs of glasses...if you see the sign seeing that they are running low...they are running low
    * I wish they had the "find your perfect fit" option for sunglasses, like they have for the glasses. You can only shop sunglasses by style, not by colour or material

I will continue using CC for my eye-wear needs!

I always appreciate great customer service, and Clearly Contacts makes the experience of slowly going blind a much more pleasant one. Admittedly, I was initially lured into buying from them because of their low prices and their association with the student health plans at the major local universities, but now, I would have to have a really compelling reason to shop for my vision needs elsewhere.

    I mean:
-For those who are busy, hate shopping, or some combination of the two, Clearly Contacts makes the whole experience of purchasing glasses/contacts/something similar quick and painless. 5 minutes in the comfort of your own home and you're good to go.
-Their prices are competitive, and I'm almost certain they have some kind of price match guarantee.
-Their turnaround is super-quick. Most times, I receive my order within one or two business days, meaning that when I'm frantically ordering contacts in a stronger prescription a mere handful of days before leaving on a trip of indefinite duration, I don't have to worry that my order won't arrive to me on time.
-Their customer service representatives are friendly and helpful, and they always get back to me within a reasonable time frame.
-They almost always have some kind of promotion on that saves you money.
-They have a decent selection of glasses and contact lenses, more than enough for the average person.
    -They're local.

Seriously. This four eyes gives Clearly Contacts five stars (heehee).

Marc D. hit the nail on the head: "Holy good deal, Batman!"

I was late on the online-contacts train but I have had friends and family take advantage of their great deals over the years and they all have been very happy customers.  It came to the point where I was on my last pair of contacts and it was ready to take the dive.

I ordered some contacts and they weren't a LOT cheaper than deals I have got in store, but they were a competitive price that is shipped right to your door.

What I'm most impressed about are all the tools they have online to help you make the right decision- that's fabulous!
Also, I haven't been unhappy with anything, but reading other reviews it seems like they have a amazing customer service etc.

Two days later I saw that they were having a promo on free glasses, just pay for shipping.
All the add-ons for special coatings and other things are extra- but people with low prescriptions or others that just want a clunky backup pair in between having their contacts on- this is great.  15$ later for shipping and I am waiting for my free pair of glasses.

The site also does a lot to help the customer demystify glasses- measurements, etc.  It makes the consumer a whole lot more knowledgeable and I think less intimidated- I remember a decade ago when you went into a optometry clinic there was a bit of intimidation with the various instruments etc.  But the way clearly contacts works is awesome- you get to understand what the various numbers mean and make an informed decision for yourself!

Such a good business- Canadian to boot.  I couldn't be more pleased with them and their business model

I've been using CC for the last couple of years for contacts. I had debated buying glasses through them or taking advantage of one of their "free" glasses promos but was hesitant.

Finally over the last couple weeks I gave it a shot. I played around with their online tool where you upload a head shot of yourself and it digitally puts the frames on your face. I narrowed things down to a couple of options and after giving it some consideration for about a week I placed an order.

The order was placed on a Thursday and I had my glasses the following Tuesday (the Monday was Family Day holiday). The glasses came with a case and cleaning package and a coupon code to pass on to a friend so someone else can take advantage of the "free" glasses promo. While I was hesitant about ordering glasses online I'm happy to say I really like the frames and have garnered a handful of complements.

Details of the "free" glasses promo. Yes, other than shipping and taxes you could get a free pair of glasses. But you're probably not going to be happy with them if you cheap out and don't go a little out of pocket on your eye-wear. You're looking at an additional $12+ on the lenses depending on your prescription. The lens coatings are $10 each but if you get all three it's only $20. Shipping is $10. All said and done my "free" glasses ended up costing me $68.

The only problem I've experienced with CC was when I placed my first contact lens order about 3 years ago. I placed the order and everything seemed to be fine. After 2 weeks I had not received my order. I called and it turns out that someone who lived in my apartment building hadn't paid a previous bill so the address tied to my building was on hold. Customer service quickly cleared things up and got my order processed. Annoying though that I wasn't contacted regarding the billing issue and had to look into it myself.

I just received my glasses from the free giveaway Clearly Contacts was doing last week, and am really impressed with both the quality of the frames and how painless it was to order them.

They even e-mail you a receipt that you can submit to your insurance company!   Pretty awesome.

    Love 'em!!!

I first used CC because of their free glasses offer. I didn't expect much and was very pleased when my glasses arrived. They absolutely exceeded my expectations.

Since then I have ordered glasses from them three times. Yes, as another reviewer mentioned, you do get what you play for. The "freebie" is good enough but not attractive. I use the un-upgraded pair for work (I do the ugly there). It would probably suit someone that never leaves the house without contacts well. For more fashionable glasses, you have to upgrade the lenses. It's just how it is. The prices are still rock bottom, especially with their discount codes they are always offering.

The only downside, as I see it, to buying from CC is the lack of fitting. But most optical shops will do it for a small fee. So no biggie.

I'm such a CC fan! Wish I knew about them years ago!

What company gives you free glasses (you only have to pay for shipping), ships them in two days (I ordered them on thurs 25th, I received the Monday 30th, gives you case, cleanser, and wiper? Only Clearly Contacts.

My glasses are good quality, it's clear, and there's nothing wrong with it (as you would expect for a free product)!

I'm buying my glasses from here from now on. I love this place!!!

I absolutely love this company and the customer service is super. I have been ordering from them for a couple of years now and have always been happy with how fast my contacts are delivered to my inbox at work. I love the convenience of not having to order them from my local optician and having to sometimes wait a few days to get them.

I called yesterday to let them know that http://ContactsExpress.ca was offering the same Acuvue Oasys lenses for $5 less. Not only did they price match, but they offered an additional 5% off and I received them the next morning

I used to think I was so smart, getting my glasses from Walmart (which actually has a surprisingly good selection of glasses).  But then along came http://clearlycontacts.ca and now I'm a believer.

The website has lots of helpful information like how to read your prescription, how to measure your PD or pupillary distance, and how to read the measurement numbers found on the inside arm of your favourite old glasses so that you find a set of frames that are appropriate for your face size.

I ordered on Friday during their free glasses offer and the glasses arrived to me in Toronto on Tuesday.  The arms just need some adjustment but I know how to do that myself thanks to the interweb.  Apparently the free glasses offer for new customers comes along every month or so.  It's not really free if you have a bad prescription and need high index lenses, but even with that upgrade and all the coatings and shipping and tax the glasses came in at under $200.  I'm accustomed to paying $400 (Walmart prices) to $600 (other retailers) for a pair of glasses so I'm basically in heaven.

    Highly recommended.

I ordered contacts (I'm near sighted) from Clearly Contacts about six months ago and was happy with the service.

I needed new glasses (reading and for distance) so checked out Clearly Contacts.  I don't wear glasses often (I usually wear contacts) so didn't want to spend a lot.  When I wear contacts, it throws off my up-close vision so I wear reading glasses ... that's my eye doctor told me do.  I haven't been able to find any cool reading glasses.

I looked at the sale selection and found lots to choose from.  I didn't like their reading glasses selection so created my own (just a pair of frames with +1 vision).

Monday evening I ordered three pair of reading glasses and three pair for distance ... it came to about $260.  So cheap!

The delivery date was supposed to be next Tuesday ... they arrived this morning (three days after I ordered them ... five days early)!  Whoohoo!

The six pair of glasses each come in their own soft bag which is inside a hard case.  Also there were six cleaning cloths and six mini screwdrivers.   Cool!

I'm not crazy about one of the pair so called the customer service number.  Their policy is that if you don't like what you've ordered, they will email you the postage stamp so you can mail them back and they will refund all your money.  What a great policy!

Really is as good as it gets.

    1) Amazing prices! Beats all brick-and-mortar stores. Price-match. Free shipping over $99 (fedex overnight).

    2) Shipment is lightning fast.  Glasses came 2 days after my order, which was 4 days ahead of the expected delivery date.

    3) Sales & giveaways!  A couple times a year they give away free glasses. Yes FREE!!*

    4) Not just for contacts!  Online platform for glasses shopping is Extremely user-friendly.  Narrow your search (size, style, material, color, brand etc.) to save time.  Since their infant days, they have expanded their website to include pictures from multiple angles and measurements of various parts of the frames. And if that's not enough, you can upload your picture to virtually try on the glasses.

    5) No-questions-asked return policy. I received a pair of glasses - mind you, with prescription lenses - didn't like how they look on my face, returned them, and got full money back. Simple as that.

*minor small print: select brands, up to $88, just pay shipping & insurance ($15)

I just got a pair of the most ghetto sunglasses. They make me wanna sport converse with holes in the soles, thread bare jeans and a bike without brakes. I think I get the sentiment, but WTF?

Outside of that little snafu, Clearly Contacts gets my applause! I only ordered contacts this time but with their local, quickly shipped (ordered on a Friday, arrived on a Monday), easy-as-pie online navigation and a much better price than the optometrist, I say score! My optometrist would take a couple of weeks for the same order. Plus, with more than 4 boxes of contacts purchased, shipping is free.

I'm not sure how buying a pair of glasses will be, but I'll give them a try. The "mirror" feature online is sorta helpful, but to be even more helpful, I heard from a Clearly Contacts devotee that the best way to use the mirror function is to measure your existing specs and choose frames that match those dimensions. And voila - or supposedly, voila! Hooray for sight!

You get what you pay for, yes you do. I'm happy with my glasses. For me, I have a very low prescription and looking around and many 'glass' stores, I was finding myself thinking how broke I'd be over a pair of glasses. I'm sorry but $650 for someone who just needs them for reading and computer (and sometimes I just like to wear them!).. So the search was on for a better option.

I recall some friends getting some glasses off of Clearly Contacts and that's where I went. I got 2 pairs for $154 and they are just what I needed. Very happy with my purchase and no qualms whatsoever. The best part was the free shipping they had going on.

    * Holy good deal, Batman! *

Ok, my partner was starting to have a little bit of difficulty reading and finally agreed (kicking and screaming) to get her eyes checked at a local optometrist.  Sure enough she needs glasses.  Surprise, surprise!

Then the sticker shock hit as she starting shopping for frames and lens (neither of us wore glasses before).  Wow, those are some seriously overpriced pieces of plastic and glass!

We then stumbled onto this company, which sells prescription glasses online.

Things we loved about the experience:

    1)  You can upload a photo and then "try all their glasses on" so you can see how they look - without putting those ucky yucky ones that have been on everyone else's face!

    2)  They have a huge selection of private label through designer offerings.

    3)  Their prices are ridiculously low compared to any of the shops we checked.  When I say ridiculously low, I mean that the complete set of glasses (frames, lens, lens coatings, lens upgrade to much thinner lens, case, cleaning cloth, and eyeglass screwdriver) cost much less than just the frames at most shops.  Crazy.  Makes you wonder how much of a profit those shops are raking in!

    4)  They under-promise and over-deliver.  The online ordering (where you simply enter the details of your prescription, pick all the options, and click send) promised delivery in about 5 business days.  The glasses arrived 2 days later.  Seriously.  They prepared them more quickly than they promised and also sent it by Fedex "Overnight" for free.  (Since the company is located in Vancouver it actually turned out to be same day delivery!)

    5)  They send you the glasses without you giving them a credit card number or any financial information.  The glasses arrive with a bill which you have to pay within 15 days of receipt.  Payment was easy on their website.

    6)  If you are unhappy with the glasses for ANY reason they will pay to ship them back and send you a new pair if you like.  (Or just take them back if you don't want to deal with them anymore.)

    7)  They threw in a complimentary pair of cheapo sunglasses as a promotional gift with the purchase.

What an amazingly good deal, amazingly good customer service policies, and the best part is that she actually likes her new glasses!

thank god for late night shopping ... bought a pair of glasses for 19 dollars, googled a coupon code for free shipping, and the glasses are great ... just wanted a second set of glasses for watching tv (not my progressives) and i have no complaints regarding the look of the glasses, the fit, the cost, the shipping, and how clearly i can see :O) ordering was fast, easy with the online chat to answer my questions, and they arrived fast even during christmas ... would definitely consider ordering contacts from them as well ...

I have used Clearly Contacts once and still get loads of emails from them but that's just my laziness on telling them to stop.  Anyway, the experience wasn't so bad as I only ever purchased contacts from them.

The whole process was easy.  Fill in the appropriate information, pay with credit card and voila they are at your door within days.  Where I wasn't happy was what they charge for the next order.  The cost goes up significatly so when it came to get new lenses this time I went somewhere else.
