Tucked away in a not-so-great area of downtown, this place is like heaven for the used book collector and bargain book hunter alike.  What I like most about this little gem is the ambiance.

It has the feeling of a small, old-fashioned library.  The aisles are cramped and stacked to the ceiling.  If you have ever been to a vintage clothing store, you know that you have really look to find something good.  The same goes for City Lights.  You can easily spend 3 hours in this place finding what you're looking for and buying things you're not.

The books range from "falling apart" to "brand new" and are priced accordingly.  These folks have been here for ages so there's hardly any mark-up to cover high rent prices.

Back in the day, I found some hard to find CDs here... but that was before you could purchase and download anything under the sun.
