Fantastic establishment with a wide variety of cigars. They are quite knowledgeable, friendly, and most of all helpful with making great decisions!

Hands down the best cigar shop in town. Friendly staff will let you browse
the cabinets as long as you want and are always ready to help.

A enormous selection of Cuban and Honduran cigars line the cabinets or if you are a tobacco pipe smoker, the adjacent room will suit your needs just fine.

I went with a few tubes of Romeo Y Julietas, a Padron honduran cigar and a pack of RYJ clubs this time around.

A box of nice matches are put into your bag and you're on your way to enjoying a fine smoke.

    This joint is gangsta.

It was a bit of a walk for me to get here from downtown, but it was well worth it.  When you enter this establishment the unique cigar aroma quickly engulfs you.  A dark wood and warm interior lends itself to a comfortable cigar experience for those veteran and newbie (I am clearly the latter).  The primary sales room consists of walls integrated with shelves housing cigars from all over, especially all the best places---namely the one island the US has an embargo with.  There is also a dark & velvety room to the right which has some fancy couches and offers a smooth area to chill in---I assume to smoke out.  A mellow and laid back dog put the icing on the cake of coolness of this emporium.

I walked around and scanned the boxes and labels of cylindrical things I know nothing about.  I think my uneducated-ness was obvious, for the salesman (Derek) came to my rescue.  I supplied a few cigar parameters, and I was steered to a handful of options--handful is good, if he gave me tons of options, I'd still have no idea.

So, I made my choice, and Derek was cool about it.  There is no air of pretentiousness here.  Clearly Derek is here for "the people" and helping people know more about the world of cigars.  This place is known for having Hollywood heavyweights drop in from time to time (I secretly hoped Penelope Cruz or Sanaa Lathan would walk in the door and see me puffing away all pimp, but it was not to happen).

I talked a little bit about embargo issues with Derek and he informed me that there are ways around it, and how they are even able to ship items to the states.  This guy know his stuff, and can hook you up if you are so daring.

I finally picked out a cigar.  I was given a cutter (I was shown the best way to cut it, and also given advice on how to light it---all good and helpful advice, for later in the evening I wouldn't totally look like a teen under the bleachers stealing away with a cigarette during English class.)

I was in town for a Cuban Salsa Festival and it was great to end an evening looking over Vancouver & the mountains, with Cuban music playing in the background, and a cigar in hand.

Thank you Derek and City Cigar Emporium.

I don't smoke, but I love the smell when you walk into (or past) City Cigar. It's a beautiful shop with a pretty classy boys-club smoking lounge to the side (but female friendly, as there's usually at least one female staff member working). They have a following with celebrities, so you never know who you might end up sitting next to as you blaze up your Cuban!

The employees were super helpful to my friend who was looking for a humidor for her husband for Christmas. They have a great selection of humidors and other related cigar accessories. They also sell Hookahs and Shisha.

If you're an American visiting Canada, chances are you're after Cuban cigars. It's the naughty-factor, isn't it? This place has the biggest selection of Cuban cigars in Western Canada, so look no further. They also have Dominican, Honduran, Nicaraguan and loads of other international offerings.

You can take your chances with street parking, or find a V.P.B. stall in the parking structure at 6th and Laurel. After 6pm you can park anywhere in this parkade.
