I've heard about Cioffi's for a little while but only visited them recently. I was extremely impressed by the selection of meats and the prices.

I purchased ribeyes and country style ribs at an exceptional price. A much better option than ever purchasing meats from the grocery store.

It's been a long time since I've found such a helpful and friendly staff. Well worth my 20 minute drive.

    Awesome authentic Italian Deli.
The finest cheeses, meats, Olive Oils, fresh bread, Olives, and lots more.
This is the kind of place we all need to ensure that it stays around forever.
    Check it out!

    I can't believe I haven't reviewed Cioffi's yet!

I grew up in North Burnaby and for this reason, I am very aware (whereas you may not be) that it is full of Italians and for this reason, gains street cred when it comes to authenticity in anything Italian.

I currently live about a 20 minute drive away and I STILL go to Cioffi's!  The quality of their meat is unparalleled and the prices are very very competitive.  I have bought prime rib, sirloin steak, lamb, pork, etc. there and have no complaints about any of it.  As a matter of fact, the biggest reason I go out of my way to go to Cioffi's is the portion sizes of the meat.  The selection is quite large so I can get a "healthy" portion size of steak for example (4oz) rather than buying a huge one from Superstore and cutting it in half.  Cioffi's sells fresh bacon, they do "ready to cook" chicken cordon bleu, lasagne (made by the mother of the owner I believe), other assorted pastas, ravioli, pierogies, and tons more pasta plus their frozen selection of food is excellent as well.

What else will you find at Cioffi's?  Other Italian specialties like olive oils, pastas (fresh and dried), pannetone, other deserts that I'm unfamiliar with because I'm far from Italian, etc.

Service is friendly, the price is right, there is parking around the back and that is all.  Watch out for their slightly strange Sunday hours of operation and you are good to go!

I love deli's.  I love them so much.  some people like candy and are happiest in a candy store.  I like salt.  So the deli is my version of a candy store and Cioffi's is one of the lower mainland's best.  Cioff's is cheaper and it's also in my hood - so they win out for me.

Cioffi's is PACKED with different cured meats, anti pastos, cheeses and all the other things that will give you gout.  You have to get a number before being waited on - but if you're a new comer,  you'll end up making them wait because you're just overwhelmed with the selection.  Cioffi's is split into two stores - one side is the raw meats and cooked food section and the other has the deli meats and cheeses.

I can't tell you what food stuffs I love the most... because I love them all.  They have these fresh homemade fennel seed crackers that I just bought and I'm already addicted to them.  I just bought some italian duck sausage and I'm looking forward to grilling those up and topping it with some spiced red wine sauce.

There is a real sense of family there - there's always candy at the deli counter and the cash counter for kids.  Which is perfect for me, because their candy giving distracts them from catching me taking another sample of what-ever delicious offering they have on their plates for the day.

I am at Cioffi's every day.  It is the best part of little Italy in Burnaby.  The deli is wonderful, and my husband loves the goat cheese ravioli and the sauces I cook up from supplies only bought at Cioffi's.  Oh yes, and the best meatballs in town!

I have always loved the incredible variety of Italian meats and groceries Cioffi's offers. But more than that I love the service!

I recently went in to the Deli to purchase some items for a pizza (goat cheese and chicken breast) where they gave me some great tips for the pizza and chopped the chicken in bite sized segments for me, even though it was 5 mins to closing time. While packaging this, another lady actually ran over to Cioffi's Gourmet Kitchen store (2 doors down) to grab the goat cheese for me before they closed. Super friendly service and great quality items - what more could you want?

"Where's the gabbagool?! Whadda ya mean there ain't no more gabbagool? You madda ... "

I am slightly embarrassed to admit it but it's true -_-, I used to be in love with Tony Soprano and his predictably crude ways. And each time I step into Cioffi's, I am inspired by the family-run business although I haven't stepped into the back to see if they're nearly as entertaining as the Sopranos. I'm always curious to see what's hiding in the back pantry after midnight - severed pinkies or bag of blood anyone?

But on a delicious note, they have the best selection of authentic Italian ingredients and with a newly expanded space (two doors down), they have everything from fresh pasta and buns and even some gabbagool ^_^

Great selection of well priced Italian fare - pastas, sliced meats etc. especially love the veal shank for $4.00, big enough for 4 meals! They have 2 stores next to each other, go to them both.

Cioffi's is a great place to get meat and various other Italian imports in Burnaby heights. Why then, you say, do I give it three stars? Well it's a bit too good.

I've never, any day of the week, any time of day, not seen Cioffi's completely full of people. There's always a massive line and a million people. Even though the store is fairly large the aisles are small and they seem barely able to deal with the lines which snake around the small space near the deli counter.

If you're willing to brave the lineups and crowds you'll definitely find some good meat, cheese, pasta and deals at Cioffi's but if you are just casually out shopping there are tons of Italian delis which are a bit quieter and easier to deal with.

Support your local neighborhood business! I am not paid by Cioffi nor do I have any outstanding gambling debts with them. I am merely a satisfied patron because they have most of the nasty bits that my inner Chinese essence craves for, such as tripe, pork belly, oxtail, and eyeballs (okay maybe not eyeballs). You and I know that Safeway sucks, the Real Canadian Super store--of spoiled meats sucks, and Walmart is the evil empire. So for the same price of their meats in comparison to the quality of Cioffi's meat, why not support your local neighborhood business. I know what you're thinking, damn it, I live in the states, or I live in Vancouver, it's too far. Well, darn it...MAN UP and take a road trip to the Italian "disneyland" of meats.

I stopped in to pick up some picnic food--a variety of salami and cheeses with bread.  Took them to Alice Lake in Squamish for a picnic lunch and it was definitely some of the best picnic food ever. SO delicious!
