Review from JAMES D.
Once upon a time when I used to come here, before Whistler was a household name, thanks to the 2010 Winter Olympics, I vaguely recall Cinnamon Bear Bar being "The Place" in lower village as a hang out. If you can find a seat, its a nice, no frills friendly atmosphere, lots of screens to enjoy any pending games.

After several bouts of non-existant service and unfriendly staff I'm dropping off some stars. I'm miffed about the service because we had to wait until we flagged down the staff. Once I had to flag down a manager to get someone to serve us. The worst was waiting 20 minutes when the place was practically empty.
However, someone must have gotten the message and there seems to be new staff who actually want to serve customers!
I'm taking some time off this place and I've found other places to visit. I think the slow service went on for too long and wasn't addressed soon enough.Listed in: Whistler Eats, Beer Bars

The food here is pretty good for bar food. They service was great, not pushy but my waitress was very attentive and made sure I was taken care of. I would say its one of the better places to do après.

This is by far the best lounge in Whistler. Filled with more locals than tourists - strange for a hotel bar - the bar offers great nightly drink and food specials that entice the biggest penny pinchers to come out for a drink or five. During hockey games jugs of Canadian were only $10. Best price in town.
Just make sure to sit near the hotel entrance. If you sit on the other side with the door to the outside you WILL develop hypothermia and most likely die. Or you know, be really cold.Listed in: Whistler Eats, Heating Up Whistler

The nachos have nasty American processed cheese on them, sooooo gross!
Redeemed themselves with DELICIOUS yam fries and truffle mayo, very very good. -

This used to be the buzziest bar in Whistler when I did my season there about 3 years ago. The reason? All the staff (including me) and their friends hung out there because we got big discounts, giving it the super duper local fun feel.
Unfortunately, it is now extremely quiet (also due to the recession?) but I hear its because all staff are banned after 9pm. I understand that the bar needs to make money, but surely you want to keep your reputation as a fun bar though right?
Still the best yam fries in town. great for games night. Shame about the complete lack of atmosphere in a 7 day weekend party town. -

Located inside the Hilton Hotel, the Cinnamon Bear Bar was a chill and relaxing bar. While my friends and I were waiting for our dinner reservations, we decided to have a few drinks at Cinnamon Bear. We walked right in, found seats (which by the way are loungy/comfy), and were immediately waited on. We were brought a cup full of cracker type munchies, which is exactly what we hungry girls needed to tied us over. I ordered a souped up hot chocolate and my friends ordered speciality martinis. Overall, this bar is fun, chill, and there are pool tables and flat screen TVs in the bar. I think this is a great place to start or finish your evening. On the way out, make sure to take a picture with the bear!

the cinnamon bear is one of my favorite apres spots in whistler. it's hidden despite being steps away from the whistler gondola, so it doesn't see the same crowds of yahoos like the longhorn. they have snack mix at all the tables when you order drinks, whichi s a nice touch.
i disagree with Kate P's review of the nachos. i've ordered them a few times and i've always been really satisfied. they're great to share with a big group.
the drink list is decent and the prices are pretty modest for a bar located in the hilton. service is prompt and the atmosphere is really nice. -

Every trip needs an evening of barfood with a couple of pitchers of beer, fortunately we stumbled across Cinnamons. Their service is superb, the atmosphere lively (yet not too loud), and their food a few notches above average. Although you pay a few extra bucks for it, it is well worth it.
