This theater is my number one spot for watching movies. Unlike the theaters at Square One, this place seem to have more civilized people with respect.

Screen is quite big. But something was wrong with the sound. It wasn't as sharp and loud. The bass was sufficient, but midrange and treble were lacking. It felt like the sounds were coming from one source instead of numerous speakers in the theater. There were some sounds I was supposed to be hearing, they weren't amplified to satisfying extent. The screen was a bit darker than usual as well.

The seats are standard Cineplex. There is just enough legroom to stretch and cross your legs. Cushioning seems good, but it gets a bit hard. Width is generous.

The theater is generally clean. No sticky floor, no garbages on the floor, no smudges on the seat.

Parking lot is huge. There are restaurants in the same plaza. There is a dessert cafe called Spin across the street.

Can't really rate it on movies but the service and cleanliness. Seriously need to fix the screen. There is two big rips or cracks in theatre #13 and can't help but see it throughout the entire movie. The washrooms were a mess and require an update.

Parking is okay. Never had a problem not finding one.

This theatre is so busy. All the time. What really gets my goat is that I can show up 30 minutes early to grab a good seat and then someone can show up during the previews and ask to move our entire row, so I am squished beside the late people. This really gets my goat. Show up earlier to the Queensway - it is ALWAYS busy. This theatre has the same amenities are most large cineplex's, but also has those new fangled D-Box simulator seats that jostle and move and shake in certain theatres.
There is plenty of parking at Queensway, but if the parking lot is full, there is street parking on the residential street behind the Queensway for free.

Convenient location, plenty of parking, clean facilities, spacious & clean rest rooms, lots of food choices in the cinema and nearby, long lines that move fast.

What surprised me most about this theatre was just how packed it was at 10:30pm on a Wednesday night. Mind you we were seeing The Hangover, which is the most popular movie right now.

We arrived at 9:30 and the 10 show had already sold out by then. We quickly hoped on tickets for the 10:30 and dashed off to DQ, which is thankfully nearby. The number of amenities that surround this theatre make it very desirable. There are plenty of places to go for dinner, or coffee, or ice cream, which ties in nicely with seeing a movie.

There are also tones of food related options inside but I didn't bother to check any of them out and I can only assume that they are grossly overpriced.

The chairs in the theatre are quite comfortable and to my surprise even reclined a little. A nice touch to be sure.

I would definitely come back here but seeing as I don't go to many movies it probably won't be any time soon, though this does rank as one of the better theatres I've been to in the west-end GTA.

Aside from the teenaged pizza-faced idiot that occasionally works the front ticket counter, this is my favorite movie theatre.  Especially on Wednesdays when it's not so crowded.

For a multiplex, suck out in the middle of not-quite-nowhere-but-not-quite-there-either, I like going out here sometimes.  For the points of convenience of walking to a theatre downtown, I enjoy the stroll to the ScotiaBank Theatre (http://www.yelp.ca/biz...).  But if there isn't a time that suits or I just feel like a change of scenery, once again, location suits.  Right off the Gardiner Expressway looms the Queensway.

It's a Cineplex Odeon complex with many screens, decently-sized theatres, and stadium seating, meaning you can relax in a large-backed chair.  There's all the usual amenities that are there (popcorn, some fast food vendors), but the sound and the screens here seem to be slightly above the norm.  Maybe I'm seeing all the right films there that require a large-scale sound system, but they seem to get it right.

You can take off directly afterwards, or hang out at one of the eateries at the base of the parking lot, but whichever, you'll have a decent time.  Unless you're going to see something with Ben Stiller in it.  Then you probably won't.

We hosted our daughter's b'day party today at the Queensway Cinema and it was a big hit.  Here are the stats: 15 little girls;  "High School Musical III"; 6 pottie runs; 6 large pizzas; 2 harried parents; 1 happy b'day girl.

The girls got together 1.5 hours before the movie began in one of the two party rooms.  Pizza, juice and cake were served while the soundtrack of "High School Musical" played.  Right before the movie started, the girls were escorted into the theater where an entire row of seats were reserved for them.

All-in-all, it was a fun afternoon.  Two teenage employees tried to play party hosts, but they were clearly outnumbered and ill-equipped to control a bunch of kids who are hopped-up on cake.  The hosts also floated between the two party rooms and disappeared quite often.  The pizza served tasted like cardboard slathered with ketchup and sprayed-on cheese.   The most important thing is the girls did not notice or did not care.  Free parking was a bonus.

It tells you something about the state of movie theatres these days when the  Queensway, well into Etobicoke, is the easternmost first-run theatre west of Bay Street. I think it was built in part to replace the old Humber Theatre at Bloor and Jane (which is supposed to be turned into condos one of these years).

The Queensway is a typical big-box theatre: in a thousand years, its blueprints could easily end up in an archeology textbook on late twentieth/early twenty-first century suburban sprawl. All the screens are equally good, and it's great for matinées when you have a theatre practically to yourself and there's lots of free parking in the lot. At evening shows on the weekend, though, it gets a little crazy, and you can get stuck waiting to get out when one of the sold-out blockbusters empties out around 9 or 11 PM.

While this chain multiplex would not win any awards for special or unusual features, it is easy to get to by car, has stadium seating, lots of screens, and very good amenities.  Handy for a car-owning west-ender who'd rather drive to Etobicoke than go downtown to see a film.
