    One word...matinée!

The doors open at 11:45 am, so..,.if you're up for seeing an early afternoon show, say noon, 12:15, 12:30 or so, you can expect:
    - parking close to the door
    - short line up for the box office
    - next to no line up for the concession
    - fresh popcorn
    - choice of seating for movie
    - clean theatre
    - clean washroom
    - many kids

With so many perks to the matinée, I don't know why I'd go and fight the crowd in a dirty, noisy theatre while having to wait in line twice. Matinée. Do it.

Yea, I'll come here to watch a movie that isn't playing anywhere else in the city and for which, the next best option is Sherwood Park.  It has the feel of an Odeon so much so that like robots we know exactly where the washrooms are.  I don't like cookie-cutter multiplexs but I can live with it because the quality is there.  The seats are good, the screens work good. All bolts and screws are tight and the machine is well oiled.

Well, perhaps not everything is well oiled. The teenage kids serving pop and snacks seem a little lost. The crowds are mostly family oriented.  Hey - does anybody else in Edmonton feel like we're missing out on an 18+ movie theatre?  I'm not talking about adult movies, I'm talking about a theatre for adults.  Possibly with a bar on site and Thursday nights accompany your drink in to the movie hall kind of thing.  Oh yes, these exist in some places :)

Anyway, nice atmosphere and happy times at the Odeon!

Went to a 6:20 show and it was well over half an hour late starting.  A manager did come in, after the trailers and ads had been playing and replaying with no images for quite a while, and said they were trying to fix it.  After a very long wait, the feature did play.  But I think something should have been done to compensate us -- free popcorn for everyone or a ticket voucher.  For the price of the movie, we shouldn't have to wait.

Also I had bought a concession voucher with my tickets from the automated ticket machine, only to get stuck in the popcorn line behind 3 people who all used debit.  It I am using an automated service which saves them time, shouldn't there be a voucher line to reward me for picking that option?

I had forgotten how much I like this theatre. Go through the normal line-up, or if you're savvy, purchase your own tickets on one of the manual machines (but be warned, there's often at least one out of order).

It's a huge building, with tons of theatres and tons of seats in each theatre. I also appreciate that the sound doesn't bleed between theatres. I can be watching the new Jake Gyllenhaal flick and I don't have to hear Tron next door. Solid! (Literally.)

If you're here early for the newest blockbuster, there's a bunch of games to play or vendors to eat from. The popcorn is expensive, like a most mass theatres. But try the frozen yogurt. Seriously!

I can't recall having a problem with audio or video here. Maybe once? But I think the staff fixed it ASAP.

Definitely a good place to take in a movie any night of the week.

Cineplex Odeon North is my favourite theatre in the whole city. I actually like getting here early, so I can play some games in the arcade. Last time I wasted like $8 trying to win a DVD movie or video game--beware: this game makes you feel like you're REALLY close to winning each time.

The snacks here are so so so expensive, but it's pretty much like that at every big theatre. I do like the popcorn here--it's definitely healthier than they used to make it. You can also get frozen yogurt and slushes here too.

I find the actual theatres awesome. The seats are super comfy, and since all the aisles slant upwards, you never have to worry about someone's big head getting in the way.

One time the theatre I was in was really hot and smelly. After the movie, the staff passed out 1 free movie pass to everyone--that was cool.

I don't really frequent this theater but the odd times that I have I find that it is a pretty bad one. It just seems like they don't run things smoothly here. Getting your tickets takes time and then any food or snacks take even longer. The staff moves rather slowly so it's frustrating.

The theater seats are worn out and aren't very comfortable but the video and audio are fine. Another review stated the parking lot as being shady, it is. A lot of car thieves come out at night around here.

The movie selection is usually OK at this cinema. The biggest down fall though is the uncomfortable seating they have here compared to other cinemas. This place is far past due for an update.

I rarely go to movies anymore. It's so expensive and there are so few movies actually worth spending the cash on.

A warning - don't keep/display any valuables in your car. The parking lot here is a popular hit for young thieves.

On this occasion, I bought my admission ticket online - pretty sweet, print it at home and skip ONE lineup. So I went straight for the concession line and there were about four people ahead of me - not too bad I thought. As the cashier was getting the popcorn for the patrons in front of me, there was a loud crash - the cash drawer was bumped and fell on the ground scattering coins everywhere. I approached the counter and was told that he was closed since he didn't think to shut the stupid cash drawer. There were about four people behind me, too. We were all pretty angry about that. I just walked off and went to the hot dog counter and just ordered candy and a drink. I didn't need popcorn that badly. The other lines were at LEAST 10 deep.

The self-printed ticket is still pretty new even to the staff but I didn't have any problem getting in. She didn't direct me to the theatre, but I did find it. I almost always sit in the back row, not to appear cool because that's just not possible, but because I've had issues with people kicking the back of my seat. The movie wasn't too long, only about an hour and a half, but my butt hurt by the end. I guess the chairs can't stay cushy forever.

I went to this theatre for the first time this past weekend.

It looks just like every other Cineplex Odeon I've ever seen.  One thing that was different was the lights inside the lobby.  They have spotlights in the floor so if you happen to look down while you're walking towards the exit, you will be blinded.  I actually got a huge headache from them.  I was not impressed.

There was also a bunch of drama at the theatre when I went - and I'm not talking about the movies that were playing.  Three guys got kicked out of the theatre for trying to start a fight!  They brought a security dog in and everything!  Not exactly how I pictured my date night.

I was glad to see that security was on top of things though.

Other than those few issues, it was a nice theatre.

I think this Cineplex might be in need of a renovation in the near future.

I saw a movie here with some relatives and the seats were terrible. It's as if I could feel them disintegrate right below. Did you ever used to hate those desks and chairs in high school that weren't even and would tip back and forth as you sit on them? Yeah, it's just like that. Unsteady chair really piss me off for some reason!

The Cineplex in South Edmonton Common is a LOT better (and newer).

I don't go to Cineplex Odeon North Edmonton Cinema as often as I would like because paying $12.50 for every new movie I want to see adds up to a good chuck of money. What I do instead is either wait for a movie to be showed at inexpensive Movies 12, or wait a bit more and rent it. When I actually do feel like going to a theater, Cineplex Odeon North is not too shabby. The theater is huge and unbelievably busy night and day. Sometimes lines are so long, it is plain ridiculous. Buying tickets online or at those special machines at the entrance is the fastest way to go. All theaters feature stadium seating and Dolby surround sound. All movies I have been too have been played at the level loud enough to cover up chatty teenage girls and noises from people eating popcorn.

Cineplex North Edmonton needs new theatre seats cause old theatre seats were install in 2008 and it use to Montreal old theatres were shut down.  I rather go to Cinplex South Common in Edmonton or Sunridge Spectrum in Calgary got whey better seats with rocker chairs. Actually I don't go to North Edmonton anymore if they won't smartenup to change theatre seats otherwise it will hurt the business. I go there in Empire City Centre 9 Cinemas was super comfy rocker theatre seats is ones whey better than North Edmonton. It renovated in 2008, 8 of 9 theatres were stadium seatingand in theatre# 3 is sloped rocking seats like an airplane,
