Review from Nishant F.
Toronto, ON
Introduced to me by a friend, this was a pleasant surprise tucked away in a plaza in Brampton. Not the most noticeable of places, but once you know where it is, a return trip is almost certain.
FOOD:
- wide variety of Indian / Punjabi dishes
- reasonable amount of spice - enough for veterans fond of the spice but can be toned down for those faint of the heart..
- good quality, especially with the naans (I feel naans tell a lot about an Indian restaurant - and they have them done well)
- not ridiculously oily = score!
Food rating: 4/5
PRICE:
- reasonable for a brown place in Brampton
- you are looking at 8-10 bucks a dish
- for a nice meal, you are looking at ~$25 a person (assuming you have a full dish, 1-2 naans, appetizer, and maybe a drink)
Price rating: 4/5
DECOR:
- i was there a few months ago, but I hardly suspect things have changed a lot by now.
- It was nice and clean, cozily lit for dinner, and spacious
- has tables/chairs (no cushiony sofas or anything) = I don't care much for that, as long as the food is good and the seating doesn't leave blisters on my arse..
- I would have taken pictures, but then I was with company that wouldn't quite understand why I was taking pictures of the place without any of us in it... =P
Decor rating: 3/5
SERVICE:
- Good service, didn't take that long for my order to show up.
- Catered to all my paltry requests (more sauce, water etc...)
Service rating: 5/5
Why to go there:
- good decently priced Indian food in a pretty comfortable setting
Why not to go there:
- hmm.... can't think of a reason, although do read the additional tips below:
Additional tips:
- if you have a large group, I recommend making reservations, because they would have to move tables around to accommodate you. Their default setting is set to only accommodate 4-6 people on a table.
