At least 4 Happinesses out of 5. I withheld one Happiness because the food doesn't come in the Chinese takeout boxes. Get with the times! It's supposed to come like that; however, Chopstick House is a London institution. It's been around since the 60s I think. Same house front. Same pick up room. It's quick, dependable, and fairly cheap.
Warning: YOU NEED TO ORDER FOOD EARLY ON NEW YEARS EVE! IT IS THEIR MOST POPULAR NIGHT OF THE YEAR. YOU THOUGHT IT WOULD BE A GOOD NIGHT TO STAY IN AND ORDER CHINESE. SO DID THE REST OF LONDON!
Well, to say I am a fan of greasy Chinese would be an understatement. I'm in love with "The Noodle" or spicy beef chow mein as it's more commonly known. The noodles just aren't the same here in SF. At Chopstick house they're the nice thin chow mein noodles that get a little hard when fried in the wok.
I also miss the number 4. Fried rice and a bunch of other fried stuff, but it was easy to order it: Number 4. That's all you have to say.
Also try the Chicken Triangles. They're like fried won tons with chicken salad inside. It sounds gross, but believe me, it's delightful. The Pad Thai is not bad either considering that it's a Chinese restaurant. -

I have no idea where the other reviewers come from or what Chinese food they've had, but let me tell you something: Chopstick House is about as far away from Chinese food as you can get.
Chicken balls? Sweet and sour stuff? None of these dishes are Chinese. They're Canadian-Chinese, which is a lame way of saying "White people don't like adventuring too much in terms of flavor so here are some bland alternatives so they can feel cultured nonetheless".
White people work in the kitchen in the back, which should tell you all you need to know about the authenticity here. The combos are disproportionate, often times having too much rice/noodle and not enough meat.
What you need to remember is that this is a Chinese restaurant in east London. The food is reflexive of the community. You won't find anything truly authentic in this city (Asia Gourmet is just as bad) so if you must settle, Chopstick House is suitable for your MSG fix...but don't say I didn't warn you. -

Chopstick House is like storybook, even more so than those clear, blue lakes up in Chengdu (or so I'm told). The food here is delicious and not too greasy. It is one of the best places to get take out in the city.

Ordered from here twice and both times, the food was fresh, hot, and tasty. What I appreciate the most was that the food wasn't very greasy which is somewhat a-typical of Chinese Canadian food. Nice place overall.
