I really like it here.
I get off at King Edward train sta. and walk the little bit extra on my way home to pop in there and see if they have any nice breads or cookies on sale.
It's expensive if your not in the market for the quality of the goods sold there but if you know about the chain and have high expectations of you baked goods then it's wonderful! -

I fairly small grocery market that carries most of the necessities. It also has a holistic pharmacy, which is pretty cool. Need a Himalayan salt lamp? Look no further!
What I love most about this Choices is they have little paper bags of day-old or expiring fruit/vegetables that are super cheap (even organic)! Not sure if I should be posting this on yelp... hmm...
The prices here are higher than what you'd find at Whole Foods, Sav On, or corner stores such as Kea Foods on Main Street. -

I visited Choices market since I had my heart set of stir fry and Kins Market closed about 1 minute before I got there and it seemed like a better option then Safeway for produce.
I like the variety produce they have, from carrots to collard greens! I picked out a few of the usual suspects for my stir fry, all of which was reasonably priced except the spinach but I think that was organic so I will let it slide.
I knew walking into the store (3 days before payday) I could not afford to buy anything that wasn't at a steep discount so I mostly shopped the end caps of the aisles. Picked up a few things on sale and awed at their insanely large selection of nut butters, teas, crackers and all sorts of other yummy looking things I wish I could have afforded!
The cashier that helped me wasn't exactly friendly but neither is any cashier at any other grocery store so i'll get over it.
I must also say I looove the coin operated plastic horse outside, it's just like the kind they used to have outside grocery stores when I was growing up! -

I love having a grocery store so close to home. It's a simple two block walk to get all of your cooking needs. They also carry Emergen-C, which is a household staple for those nights when we come home trashed and need a quick vitamin supplement to ensure sweet dreams and not spinning beds.
The staff at Choices are always very friendly and nice, they are professional small talkers, and are super helpful when you can't find your secret ingrediants. They have a yummy deli, full of fresh goods, and pre-made sammys. There is always a weird dude outside handing out pamphlets or newspapers, but he kinda creeps me out so I never make eye contact. Does anyone know what this guy is handing out? Is it the Watchtower? -

This store has a great community feel to it. The staff is always friendly and the produce, meat, and bread is always fresh. This is my go-to grocery, as I live within a block. Because it is so small, the store sometimes does not have what I am looking for.

Ran in to get a few meaty meals. Yes, I DO eat at home sometimes, ok? -Kermit laugh. Buffalo burgers are priced well. Always fresh.
I was nicely surprised by this laid back location of Choices. There are some deals to be had for one star. The customer service was really nice for another. Especially in the Health & Beauty/ Homeopathic / Herbal dep't.
Parking out front!? there's a star right there. Over all I'd pick this location over any other.
...And Stella's is down the street! woohoo! I can't wait to try that and Torta's, and a cafe too... moahhaha.
SO many places to hit around there ooh!
I luv scouting in a new 'hood. -

No, Jenny G, Choices was never a health market. The name Choices denotes their wish to serve both average consumers and health product consumers.
I do like their sales and case lot sales, etc. They show they want our business when they reduce prices here and there, which WFs rarely deigns to do.
I'd rate them higher if they'd get rid of the toxic stenchy Proctor and Gamble house 'cleaning' products - I have to hold my breath when I pass by this aisle or if I want to grab something from it.
The customer bathroom is also absolutely rife with toxic scent! Woe to me when I have to use it - I need 10 minutes of fresh air to detox my clothes and hair afterward. -

More deals than Whole Foods. Not as many deals as was 4 years ago. This company has expanded and the consumer has suffered. May be a takeover candidate by Whole Foods.
Like T&T Supermarket was bought out by Superstore (Loblaws, Canada Bread).
Sells too much packaged, over-processed food, under the "natural" theme.
This was originally a "health food" store. Now, like Capers, it is just another market. -

Until Capers' recent entrance into the South Cambie area, Choices had hegemony over organic produce. They offered a more enlightened approach to produce where freshness was always of the utmost importance, subsequently promoting health and fitness through their stock.
Today, they continue to uphold to their core values. Selection may not be as varied as what is now offered at Capers but they still manage to stock everyone's organic favourites. They have regular sales where certain items are offered at a reduced rate, making it slightly less expensive than Capers. -

As the name aptly suggests, Choices offers both natural and organic products as well as conventional groceries to choose from. Each store comes with eight specialty departments including: bakery, bulk, deli, floral, grocery, healthcare, meats, and produce. I always enjoy shopping at Choices and looking at all the natural products and healthy food. There is a wonderful array of things to buy and a large vitamins section where I buy a rare herb called Rhodiola.
